This past Friday, the 6th, I decided to treat myself as I am in nursing school and cannot have my nails done during the semester and decided to go to snow nails with a classmate. I try to be on a budget but after going to Snow nails, that is definitely not the place to go. We had a walk in and I requested a full acrylic set. First, the man doing my nails did not know what he was doing and started my acrylics after I requested a 10 dollar basic manicure which makes my nails look about 2 weeks grown out already. I noticed a break in my nail, yesterday morning, Tuesday the 10th did and it was tearing although I have not hit or banged them on anything. Sadly I was not able to post this yesterday morning as I have been studying for finals. Do not recommend especially based on the price l paid for the service provided. read more

The day before my son's wedding I took my granddaughter to have tips put on. I was talked into upgrading to gel polish because "it will last longer." (an extra $10). The next day a tip came off. There was no time before the wedding to go back to the salon and the morning after we drove back to MI. We glued the tip on numerous times but it never stayed and then it got lost so within 4 days she ended up removing them entirely. I paid $65 plus a $7 tip. $72 for a junk job. I later had two local people tell me they wished I had asked them for a recommendation. I did contact them personally two weeks ago and received no response. read more

I am at a loss of words. I went in this salon at 5pm & there was only one person having their toes done in there & I asked for acrylics with regular polish (cause I change my nails so often I don't need gel or dip for it to "last longer") & I was told to come back in an hour so I came back at 7:00 & was greeted "oh a little late it's been more than an hour" (mind you I wasn't given an appointment just "come back in one hour". And I paid $73 total for THIS. I'm mind blown. I was told I can't have regular polish because they don't do it (even though it's listed on the service menu) & then another person said "you get gel it's faster we close at 8" so I said that's fine. I was completely rushed picking out a color I had to multi task by looking through the colors while she was filing one hand. She was very rushed. A couple times I had to ask her to fix the length of some fingers because they weren't the same as the others & also to file some fingers down more because they were jagged & uneven. She did my whole set in 20 MINUTES! Before my hands had even been under the UV lamp for 10 seconds she was asking me to give her my hand to continue, when she set the timer for 1 minute each time. The polish was still wet causing it to just be chunked up on my nails but she kept going over it & you can still see where there's not polish fully on some of the nails. They still had a little over 20 minutes before closing so it's not like it was right at 8:00 & even if, I am paying for a service & tipping you so something that expensive shouldn't be rushed. No one else was in the salon during that whole time. You will notice that the nails are uneven, they aren't the same on the sides, they aren't straight, they flare out on some nails, none of the nails are actually square (the shape I asked for), I have done a better job doing my own nails with a kit from Walmart than this. I'm so disappointed. None of the nails look the same, they all look different. If I didn't spent $73 then I wouldn't have kept them on. I would've went somewhere else to have them fixed but that's a lot of money to just have them all removed to have to pay around the same price for another set. And the woman had the audacity to ask me where I had my nails done before (I came in with no nails I had already removed my previous set & I constantly have my nails done so my actual nails are clearly gonna be damaged) & I said somewhere in Roanoke I'm not even from here I had the set removed so I wouldn't have to do that here today. And she kept talking about how bad my natural nails looked & how whoever did them before "really messed them up". Like okay I know they're damaged but the way my nails look now the ones she did that I paid $73 for looks horrendous. And also she acted annoyed when I asked her to fix the parts that were uneven. And she still managed to leave them looking like THIS. And then rushed me to pay & rushed me out even though after payment it was 7:40. Just do not waste your time or money. I don't know how this place has so many positive reviews when I looked them up on google beforehand but I wish I had gotten on here to check first because I would've seen all the other reviews & photos & I wouldn't have made the mistake of going here. read more

WARNING: BEWARE OF THIS PLACE Not knowing I spoke Vietnamese, the woman doing my nails (30 year old) called me dumb straight to my face when her malfunctioning machine would shut off often, blaming me for the issue. She would continue to talk to her co-workers about how dumb I am and that they should CHARGE ME AN EXTRA 25$ because I'm too dumb to figure it out. Upon paying, I asked her to bring me the menu to see how she would charge me. She then laughed, and told her coworkers "look how difficult she's being" in Vietnamese. Beware!!!! My 16 year old daughter tried Snow for the first time with her two friends, and we will NEVER return or recommend it. She asked for an acrylic set, oval shape (a NORMAL filing), and pink chrome nail polish. No designs. She got that, but the quality wasn't spectacular. An acrylic set is $50. But, they charged her $70. $5 for the "special shape" she asked for. $15 for a "chrome effect". (What? An extra layer of nail polish is $15?!) What makes this ridiculous is that when she asked about the usual things like cuticle care, lotion - what is usually included in a manicure - they told her that this price included that. She told them she didn't receive any of that. After talking with the person who did her nails, they told her the price didn't include any of that. $70 and it doesn't include cuticle care?! (And no, this price didn't include a tip.) Lying to your clients and ripping them off is a great way to have not only three no-returns, but will now get you no referrals. I think the main theme of this review is: if you can't accommodate an appointment, don't confirm it. Scheduled morning of for a full set with gel polish at 1 and arrived about 10 minutes early - which I typically do in case they finish up early with the last client. I was seated quickly and the tech had to step away after buffing my nails to finish up another client's. It seemed they had several 1 o'clock appointments booked and just couldn't handle the volume. In regards to my nails, I'm disappointed. I'm no nail tech, but have shaped acrylics better on myself. Asked for a tapered square shape and I will say, a couple of the nails are what I asked for. Others had tips applied crooked, and I'm not totally sure what's going on with my left thumb. The nail length is not consistent at all, one pinky was cut at finger length while the other is much longer. She did not hold them side by side to compare lengths as I typically see techs do.I have nail glue all over my fingers - which I was surprised to see as the nail tech was rushing so much she ended up filing the skin around my nails instead of the nails themselves at times. I could tell she was rushed and nervous and I certainly can understand that, however there's no getting around the fact that my nails straight up look bad. Will be finding another salon and getting them soaked off and trying to salvage. read more

We booked here for a 6-person bridal party and were really happy with our service day of (pictured). However, its 2 months after my appointment and my nails haven't recovered. My nail chipped and peeled off 3 days after I got it done. I went back to get it fixed grudgingly and it chipped again within 3 days. She tells me it's a refill and not a full set so she is not responsible for the tip of the nail. But, my mail was filed down to that length so I am not sure how she filed all the acrylic off the tip and not responsible for it. Then again, the gel polish is diluted so bad you can see you nail bed beneath the polish. Just stay away. She was literally arguing with me back on forth on what she is responsible for and what she is not responsible for. I have never have to deal with this situation because. The first time I came I could tell the older lady doing my nails didn't know much she kept asking me to choose the gel and any other nail salon doesn't do that! The shape was the only thing that seemed decent enough. My friend also got her nails done and I feel like they praise the people who pay more. The people here are very rude, I came in to fix ONE nail! Mind you all, I've only had my nails done for a week and their already falling off. Just because they had white gel paint they thought it was okay to force me to get a fill in. When I clearly told them no and explained why which I shouldn't have had to. The lady slammed her hand on the table when asking me to put my hand in the gel nail dryer.. All in all, the costumer service I got was HORRIBLE from the moment I walked in they gave me mean looks and said smart remarks. Hoping it's not a racial thing being that I'm black! I will start this review by saying I don't like to write bad reviews. Most of my reviews are always 5 stars but this one probably deserves less than what I'm rating tbh. I booked an appointment at this salon a week in advance. I took my grandmother here to get our nails done for a wedding. I was already off to a bad start not knowing the area I had to call and let them know I was running a couple minutes behind and was late to my appointment by 2 minutes. When we came in the show looked really pretty. I noticed alot of products were off brand but that's okay. When sitting down for our pedicures mine was okay, my grandmother's feet are very ticklish so the lady was scared to do her feet and barely anything was done to take care of her feet. The paint job on my toes doesn't look very good. Kinda looks like something I could have done at home. Then we went on to the nails portion on our hands. First thing, the lady we were set up with had a very negative vibe as if we were inconveniencing her by being there. My grandmother asked for her nails to just be shaped not cut down. While waiting she ended up dosing off, this lady took the tool they use to file over acrylic fast and cut her nails down. She was very short with my grandmother. She quickly tried to shape my nails and they looked very crooked and slanted. I asked her to grab me 2 colors of the dipping powder i seen on the back wall because I wanted to see the colors and she brought me the polish I didn't ask for and as I tried to explain to her even though I wasn't getting the dip I just wanted to see the colors she started getting irritated and started getting loud trying to argue with me. I explained to her I didn't want the services any more, I stood up after being quiet the entire time she was being rude and short with me and my grandmother and explained to her how rude she was and how upset she had made me and that I was going to a different salon to have them fix and finish mine and my grandmother's nails. The woman was extremely rude & charged $20 extra for my pedicure when my friend paid $50 for the same service. The first question I was asked was what do I want? That didn't set well with my but my set was already paid for so I let it slide. She then asked whether I wanted regular paint or gel and I originally requested regular. My friend told me gel lasts longer so after I was pointed towards the regular paint I requested gel instead where I was then told that was why she asked which I wanted when I got there. The man who gave me a pedicure was pleasant and also gave my baby a small pedicure as well minus any product or paint, just water. He just some unfinished work, the woman came over and finished and painted. I watched her pull the paint straight off two of my toes and redo them which told me the quality was not very good. I went two days ago and 3 of my toe nails are already missing paint. I would never recommend this place to anybody I know. $70 later and I'm horrified with the service and quality of Snow Nails. I went here last week to get my nails done. I asked for a full set. I showed the picture to the man of what what I wanted which is a coffin shape with rounded corners so I wouldnt poke my eyes out when I put in contacts. That's is NOT what I got. The man wouldnt listen to anything I said and he kept saying "later ma'ma later" I have had my nails done enough to know that you should shape the nails BEFORE putting on the acrylic. I noticed things were going wrong when he kept burning me with the drill bid and my risk is still not fully healed and he kept throwing my arm down PURPOSELY after telling him ...I told him he could do French tips and then clear on top to make it easier but he suggested he dip the tip on. Long story short my nails or thick the French tip fades into the clear crookedly, there is white specs everywhere and it already looks like a need a fill in. Warning! I went in to have them remove my gel polish. I was very definite about them not using a drill and asked if they wrapped in acetone to remove. They assured me that they would not touch my nail with the drill but that they needed to get the top layer off bc it is hard. The owner proceeded to talk to me while the technician was using the drill and the next thing I know she had taken it all off with the drill and with it part of my nails. They are now very rough and uneven. I asked her why she did it and she kept insisting she didn't touch my nail which was a lie bc all of the polish was gone!! A French is not supposed to be this thick fist of all and the lines aren't even either. This is a great nail salon! I booked an appointment online for dip powder and a regular pedicure. I went in a little early, and I was promptly taken to my pedicure chair. They use disposable liners inside the bowl for each pedicure so that's a nice sanitary precaution. My pedicure was done really well. My dip powder looks great. I've been to another salon in the area that has more color selection, but this salon definitely had a good amount of selection. Kind people, but can be pushy. Very clean salon; all of the supplies were pre-packaged. They were gentle, and didn't cut me like most salons. They didn't shape my nails exactly how I wanted them, and it was a little sloppy around the cuticles, regardless I was happy with the final results. But then I sat down, had two different people working on my nails, and it was back and forth between me and other customers. The woman doing my nails asked multiple times if I bite my nails, which was really rude and made me uncomfortable. She then told me that my nails were "a lot of work because of the cuticle." I asked for almond nails and they were extremely misshapen, I had to file them when I got home. They still don't look great. I also have a lot of bubbles with the paint.
