Best color service I've ever had. I highly recommend Sarah C if you're looking for color! I have long thick hair that frustrates so many stylists and she was just so patient cutting it. I went back to get a balayage with her but didn't have high expectations for the results. My hair has not taken color well in the past because my hair is so dark. Haven't had color in my hair in years but last time I tried highlights you could hardly see them. I told Sarah this and she listened and mixed up the product perfectly to get amazing color. Prices here are pretty middle of the road but the quality of the service has been top notch. My sister went there for a hair cut and left feeling upset. She asked for a couple inches off, long layers, and curtains bangs and that is not what she got. The hairstylist wasn't very confident in what she was doing and ended up calling another woman over to fix it. Even then she was disappointed with the look she left with. I called the Bloomington Snips Salon inquiring about getting a hair color. The woman I spoke to was extremely rude. She was cutting me off when I spoke and very unhelpful. I was excited to go to this Salon but I can assure you that I will never go. At the end of the call I started saying "thank you for your help, I really appreciate your time." She just hung up on me. I called back to get her name because I have never been treated so poorly as a customer. Her name was Becky. I never leave poor reviews but I feel a strong urge to post because no one should treat people that way especially in the service industry. read more

I got spa appointments for my daughters and I. They both got messages and said they were good. They did not have staff that day for facials. We all got manicures but she said we would not have time for acrylics. One of my daughters and I got dipped nails. My daughters nails lasted 3 days before they started popping off. read more

What a horrible experience from beginning to end. I would never recommend this salon. I asked for just an update on my balayage (darken my roots and brighten my blonde), not far from my normal was what I asked for. I feel as though my pictures say it all. The roots are a different color, I have streaks in my hair, no blonde was able to be "pulled through" (never has anyone ever had this issue), I ended with a orange/brown head of hair. This took 3hrs (painfully long), she didn't blow dry it all the way of the way or style it. Her nails were so long she couldn't even scrub my hair. I have tried to contact the manager twice via phone with no one ever called me back, I have emailed twice and both times the secretary has given me a non-existent email address that bounces back to me. Ontop of all of this I was quoted $155 and the total came to $220- SO FAR from the original quote. Words can express what a horrible experience this has been. Do not go here, I truly feel as though I got scammed, I would never have gone here if I would have known my experience would be so bad. Went today and had a massage by Tabetha (yes, that's how you spell it). She was amazing! Very thorough, very friendly, and knowledgeable. The staff at the salon was also very friendly and courteous. When I walked in I was pleasantly greeted and immediately checked in, coat taken, and water provided. The receptionist today, was not fooling around. She was down to earth and professional the entire time. High five! I would recommend checking this place out if you are in the market for a cut or massage. Plus it's nice that there is a Wells Fargo and Lunds right smack next to the place. WINNING! read more

Alex R. gives the best haircuts I've ever received in all my 30 years on this planet. I've referred many a friend who have all been extremely satisfied with her work. I truly wanted to like this salon. The staff is friendly, good location, etc. I have gotten my hair colored several times (the first two stylists left the company) so I'm on my third. Let's just say the color I asked for was definitely not what I got and when I brought it up twice I was brushed off with 'don't worry it will fade'. The very talented Samantha Peterka works there, and that is the major reason I keep going back. And look gents, it is a salon but you won't have to turn in your man card after getting a haircut. The staff are all very courteous and professional without being over the top on the spa speak. I'm usually in and out in under 30. Another perk is they sell all the best hair and skin care products, and have great gift packages around the holidays. I'm happy, my wife is happy. Win win! read more

I thought you get what you pay for, but when I got my nails done that was certainly not the case. I got them done by Sheila. She was very nice and the staff was nice as well but it took 2 1/2 hours for her to do a full set of acrylics! She made my fingers bleed, she put the white tips too far down, and they look like I got them done two weeks ago. I couldn't do anything with my hands for at least 24 hours because they were that tender. Overall I was very disappointed with my experience there. I was expecting so much better for the money I paid. The only positive thing about my experience was that she offered me half-off of my refill because it took so long. But even with that, I don't think I will be going back there, even for the refill. read more

I made an appointment almost 6 weeks ahead of time because I wanted three pedicures and three manicures on a certain day. Less than three weeks before our appointment I get a call saying two of the girls that were going to provide our services are not going to be there that day. So they had to cancel our appointments. They offered to move them to a different day but what the receptionist didn't seem to understand is I needed him on that day at that time and that's why I had called six weeks at a time. I would not recommend this salon. I booked an appointment in advance for a haircut. When I showed up I sat and waited for at least ten minutes. My appointment time had passed at this point. I went up to the receptionist to find out what was going on. She informed me that they had cancelled my appointment. I am annoyed that they didn't think it would be nice to let me know, preferably ahead of time, with a phone call, or at the very least when I showed up for my appointment. My guess is that someone with a more extensive (read expensive) appointment requested my time, and the shop complied. f the shop does not want to cut men's hair because the profit margin is too low, then don't take the appointment. Atrocious!! Please heed my warning!! Read on I was to be a bridesmaid in a wedding and my normal stylist was out of town. I called Snips to get a price quote because I had dark brown hair and wanted to go all over blond. I informed her about the color and length of my hair and the receptionist quoted me "$65 for an all over color." While explaining what I wanted to the stylist she told me it would be a "Corrective Color" which starts at $200 and an additional charge after an hour. I told her this was not in my budget, as I had already spent an arm and a leg on the wedding. I asked her what she could do to get me close to blond; she said an all over bleach foil for $90. The results she told me would be "blond with some low lights" Perfect... I thought. In the middle of waiting for my hair to process my stylist had to leave and go home! So another girl came to take over and asked me "what are we doing with your hair because I have no idea?" WHAT!? So I try to explain it best I could. The results--no difference!!! I still had dark brown hair, and when I go to check out my total is $102. Whatever. I paid it even though I was obviously not happy. 5 minutes later on my drive home I call to speak to a manager; he had went home for the night and the next manager would be in at 9am the following morning. The next morning I call and speak to Sandy a manager. I explained the lack of communication, professionalism and skills. This is the kicker- Sandy accuses me of botching my own hair from the time I left to the time I called, belittled me by asking "well did you buy any product?" What does that have to do with anything? All I asked was for her to fix my hair, do what they had told me in the first place they could, she told me "No, that would be throwing $200 away, as it should have been a corrective color" No. The stylist told me she could achieve bond hair with low light for $90 because I didn't want to pay over $200 dollars for an all over blond color, the highlights would work. After getting nowhere with her, I asked her to speak with the other managers and get back to me on a decision. I waited a week never heard back, so I started calling daily, leaving messages. I got a call back finally but missed it, so when I called back I was told I'd have to speak to Sandy again--GRRRR. Sandy told me she would fix my hair but I would have to pay the $200+ dollars! I said " no. you belittled me, accused me, basically retold our previous conversation, to which she says "I don't know who you spoke to but it wasn't me" ... Sandy has an unmistakably low, scratchy voice. Now on top of everything she's lying.So to this I said "I just want my money back, I won't let you touch my hair now." She said she would have to discuss it with the other managers and get back to me (deja vu) I got no response and finally gave up. That's why I'm here warning you.
