The staff at Snips-N-Tails is absolutely amazing! They know every dog by heart and treat all the animals like family. I've had three dogs groomed here (one recently passed away). My dogs enter happy and leave happy. They do a great job with the hair cuts and always add cute extras- hair bows, neck bows and neckerchiefs. My dogs smells so clean and fresh after a grooming there. I love supporting small businesses bc of the friendly & intimate relationships. Great place to go. Highly recommend! I'm not a big "reviewer" but felt compelled to do so today. We have a grooming appt tomorrow and have a scheduling conflict. I called and they are letting me bring my dog earlier so we don't have to cancel the appt. You will be very satisfied with the staff here. I'm very finicky with my babies and wouldn't leave them "anywhere." They also have doggie day care and boarding as well. I haven't had the need to use those services but if I do, I will definitely bring my babies to Snips-N-Tails! read more

We've been going to Snips N Tails now for our dog 's last 4 groomings and couldn't be happier. Summer is great and that goes for Cheryl too. My dog is a 70lb Golden Doodle and could be quite the handful and sometimes barks a lot, but Summer has real talent at keeping him calm and does a great job with grooming him. They let the dogs play and don't lock them in cages between the bath and cut, which my dog loves I'm sure. If you live near Branchville or in Sussex County, I definitely suggest giving them a try. read more

I needed my little 20 lb dog's nails clipped and when I called for an appointment I explained that his behavior was a problem because he bites when afraid. I volunteered to bring him in with a muzzle but they said it wasn't necessary, that we'd see how it goes and they had muzzles if needed. I brought him and he was taken in the back. I then heard him choking and crying. The lady came out with my pup and angrily said he must be sedated . I left with my dog, nails unclipped. He was quivering and crying the entire way home, completely traumatized. read more

Funny, but I just read another post with the same complaint! I have taken my 11 year old small cocker mix to snips-n-tails at least 5 times. She is very mild mannered and stands completely still while being groomed. This was even told to me after my other appointments. My grooming request has always been a shave down, no fancy cuts, no fancy ears, no fancy tail, just a shave down. i schedule my dog's appointment weeks in advance. Well, again today, as with EVERY other appt., I was told it would be "3 hours, maybe a little longer". Today's appt. was 5 HOURS! The last time it was 6 HOURS and the time before that was 5 hours. I asked them today why it took so long and I was told "this isn't like a beauty salon, some dogs don't stay still", so I asked 'then why do you schedule so many appointments in one day, to which I didn't get an answer, so I'll assume it's greed. Well I really lost it today and was happy to get it off my chest because as I had said, this happened with everyone of my appointments. Snips-n-tails does no better nor worse than any other groomer, but their schedule is absolutely the worst. i will never go there again and after my complaint and outbursts, I believe they will welcome that...lol read more

We were referred to Snips-N-Tails by our retired groomer. The first visit was to the former facility in Port Jervis, where we found the shop to be absolutely dogcentric. Everything from the greeting to the harmonious grooming area to the final product was worth the trip. Chatting with other customers turned up nothing but happy ones. Followed the shop to the new NJ location, where we use the grooming service as well as the doggie day care. All of the staff display professionalism, friendliness and a love for animals in general. We couldn't find a better place for our dogs. read more

I've brought my dog to this groomers a few times, but after my experience with them just yesterday, I will not be. I was traveling almost an hour to get to them. First I had an appointment and then because of covid, it was canceled. Understandable. But they didn't bother to call me once they reopened to see if I wanted to reschedule. So I called two weeks prior for an appointment. My appointment time was 1:30. I got there at 1:15pm. I was greeted by Summer. She was the best part of this experience. Such a sweet person. She did explain that they were a bit behind and it would be longer than usual. That was fine. It's never taken longer than 1 1/2 hours. So I figure it would be a little over 2 hours. So after 2 1/2 hours I decided to call because I'm obviously hanging around because of how far away I live. Cheryl answers the phone. I asked very nicely how much longer it would be. Instantly she jumps down my throat, saying that it usually takes 3 hours but they are backed up so it'll be longer. Long story short, I remained calm while Cheryl huffed and puffed on the phone. Then the owner Marcia gets on the phone and was extremely rude. I asked why I wasnt told this before coming that they were backed up? She said I should've asked. She said that they were pretty much over booked, trying to squeeze in as many people as possible because of being closed. I told her this was bad business practice. She hung up on me! Needless to say it took 5 hours to groom my dog! I hung around a town where there is literally nothing to do. This situation could have easily been resolved with an I'm sorry from the owner. I'm a very understanding and reasonable person. When Summer came out with my dog. She was very apologetic and said that they had a very rough day. I will never go back to snips and tails again! They make no apologies for their mistakes! read more
