We visited this mall yesterday while exploring the local area. It's a physically large one level mall and while it may have been great a one time, it is mostly devoid of stores now. Their dining area only had 2 restaurants open. I liked their book store but it seemed like all the other remaining stores were clothing stores. This mall has gone to crap. There are no good stores. Victoria secret closed. The only positive thing about this mall is the Bath and Body Works and Belk. It won't be long though and I have a feeling these businesses will close too. read more

The mall may be small, but it has all of the basic staples. (Victoria's Secret, Game Stop, Bath and Bodyworks, JC Penny's etc), which is all you really need for basic errands. If you want to go on a more extravagant shopping trip, head to Columbia like others have suggested. My biggest complaint is the parking lot. It's uneven, cracked, and has a few annoying potholes. On the flipside, the interior and exterior are both clean and updated! I was impressed with how bright and inviting the mall was and enjoyed the bookstore, Books a Million, which has an incredible amount of options which surprised me since the store is pretty small! (The staff is also very welcoming, Vanessa was awesome!) The food court was a bit disappointing albeit clean, It had two Asian places, a cookie/pretzel place, and an ice cream parlor - but it also had a Chick Fil A and honestly what more do you need? Looking forward to spending an afternoon or two browsing the bookstore. read more

On December 26th, 2018 approximately 1718 hours I, Dante G., responded to Sumter Mall located at 1057 Broad Street, which is located in the jurisdiction of the city of Sumter, in reference to a cold case review. I entered through what could be described as the food court, which merely consists of two Asian restaurants and approximately 25 tables. This is centrally located on the a side of building. As I moved through the mall, in an effort to locate evidence of the past, I noticed the Sumter Police sub station which used to be a Bressler's ice cream shop, 33 flavors not that inferior, but more successful 31 Flavors. I find it mildly humorous that the Victoria's Secret now occupies the same spot as The Nut Shack used to. I discovered that Corn Dog 7 sadly is gone. I approached Great American Cookie Company in an effort to get a large chocolate chip cookie. Sadly, they were out. I believe that used to be a different cookie stand, which served Superior tasting cookies. I guess they got bought out and now serve the standard, less tasty corporate cookie. I decided that I would just grab a quick bite at the Chick-fil-A. As I stood in line, 3 teens decided to cut in front of me. Rather than deal with their Ridiculousness, I decided to go elsewhere. As I moved through the remainder of the mall to see what it had to offer, I watched is the Jimmy Jazz employee engaged in some sort of argument on her cell phone in front of her store. I also watched a young lady who works at Kay's, get harassed by a group of teenagers. It seems that when they stopped short in front of her, her merely stopping was an offense. As she walked down the hall ignoring them, they yelled after her. It seems they intend to do harm to her at closing. I decided to move back to my car and go find someplace else to do well. I only passed three cars with people consuming some sort of plant material in the parking lot in hand rolled cigarettes. That speaks volumes about the patrols play the Sumter police if people feel that comfortable doing things in the parking lot. In the vernacular of the indigenous residents where I currently reside, I would describe The Sumter Mall as "ratchet". No photos taken. All evidence thoroughly reviewed. Case administratively closed pending discovery of new evidence. read more

Well, if it's all you got then I guess you are stuck with it. Basic chain department stores of JC Penney, Belk and Sears. I will say I got a sweet deal a couple years ago on a Dyson floor model vacuum cleaner at Sears. Score! If you are looking for current, non-urban fashion this is not going to be your place to visit. Other than the aforementioned department stores, you are going to be stuck with some pretty sad, cheap clothing options. I don't mean to sound like a snob, I'm just saying there aren't a lot of options here AT all. If you are in a pinch, it's worth a try, but I would do my shopping elsewhere if I were you. I guess that's what everyone else does because this place is just about dead. Needs some new life! And a major renovation overhaul! read more

Okay okay, so it's no Mall of America, but I remember this place when it was called Jasmine Mall, and I get kind of sentimental about it. Really, save for Belk, the only thing good about this mall is f.y.e., where I bought an awesome used copy of Blade Runner for only four bucks. Try the Chinese place, it's alright. ;-) read more

We moved down here from Houston TX. Nothing compared to the malls down there. For the Houston folks, greenspoint is better only good store is Victoria secret read more

The only "unboring" thing about this place is that cookie store with lemonade. Otherwise, it's like a renovated parking garage with enough space for a car show or two. read more

This is a mall? The whole place has about 10 stores with JC Penney and Belk as the anchors. Women's clothing options are then left to just New York and Company,Victoria's Secret and Rue 21. Not impressive. Beyond that, the place is disgusting. It's all carpet that appears to have never been shampooed and the stores are a mess of racks. It reminds me of walking into a second hand store. It's pretty awful. read more

If it was possible to give a negative review I would. I was recommended to the hair salon inside of JCPenny. I asked for a simple military fade. Instead of telling me she didn't know how to do it. She attempted the haircut. The outcome of my haircut was so bad that THE BARBER Asked me if I wanted her to stop. I COULD OF CUT MY HAIR BETTER MYSELF AFTER A NIGHT OF DRINKING. It was so bad that I left and ended up finding a local barber shop down town. DO NOT GET A HAIR CUT FROM THIS EMBARRASSING EXCUSE FOR A HAIR SALON. read more

It has good shoe stores.It doesn't have any other good stores other than the 21 and VS.I wish it had more up to trend stores.

Belks, JC Penney, bookstore & Chik-fil-A are all pretty good. The jewelry kiosk was able to adjust my steel watchband for me, but it might not be there after the renovation. Hallmark is gone. Sears is gone. Radio shack is gone. It could use a coffee shop, nice restaurant, and maybe a shoe repair shop. read more

Ok, so this is technically defined as a mall. However, I have never been to a mall quite like this one. It's so small. There are always stores going out of business and it generally always seems empty. Highlights for me are: GNC, Books a Million, and Victoria's Secret. read more
