    Back On the Rack

Back on the rack is a consignment store that sells mostly children's clothes, toys, infant items…read moreand accessories. They also sell used women's clothing, shoes, purses, handmade bows and some new items. I decided to write a review after giving them two chances. Months ago, I went there to consign gently used toys, games and girl's clothing. (You can get a percentage of sales of your items for store credit or receive a lesser cash payment once things sell.) I dropped off brand name items (like Gap and Old Navy), several of which were new with tags. I am convinced I should have received some money since I gave them three giant containers of items to sell. For goodness sake, some clothes were never worn and some were new with tags and the toys were in great shape! Anyway, when I went in a second time to drop off more items I asked if I had any money balance or store credit with them and they said no. Really? Not even $1 out of all the stuff I brought in? The store clerk said that it was a tough winter. I just don't believe her. Looking around I saw none of the items that I left there. I was uneasy about this, but decided to give them another shot and left more gently used and new items for them to sell for me. Both times I went on a Tuesday. I recently contacted the store through facebook to see if I had any money or store credit, and was told I have nothing. Honestly, I don't see how that is possible since I left very good quality and popular brand-name items. I feel cheated and want to warn anyone else who is considering dropping items off there. In the future I will just donate items to the Hope Chest in Lowell, or have a yard sale.

I want to love it... funky store, very interesting. But it seems that each time I walk in, "I can't…read moreget no, satisfaction" - its a funky place that requires adult supervision and navigation assistance. And that is not what I have gotten. :-( Which is a bummer. The FIRST time I walked in, the cute owner was being interviewed by local news folk... and with all that attention, there was zero attention for in-coming clients. The second and third and forth times I've been in... not full... not a lot of people... same thing. I will keep trying until I get some help. Which is weird from what I hear from the CN's fans. Condiments, teas, do-it-yourself scrubs, masks, oils, soaps, planters with all kinds of cute little succulents. You'd think you are in a magic shop somewhere Harry Potter may ask Hermione or Snape to whip up (so he can get a table at the Railtrail when it's at peak craziness!). A little bit hippy, a lot new age, it's a store of wonders. But it's not for everyone. My 18 year old won't be caught in this beautiful little store. I hope I get caught (by the staff) and get a guided tour and introduction to something new - I'm a sucker for body scrubs...

Crose Nest made GORGEOUS spice blend vials for the favors at my wedding. We chose Black Lava Salt and a golden Mesquite seasoning, and Kinsey (the lovely owner of Crose Nest) layered them in glass vials, creating beautiful landscapes. You can choose from SO many spices, or create teas, bath blends, etc - so many options for cooking, drinking, and pampering! Kinsey put each vial in a beautiful linen drawstring bag, and hand-stamped our custom wedding stamp on the front of each one. Our guests were delighted by these favors. I can't recommend this service from Crose Nest enough!

They always have a lot of cool things in stock. They also have things you would have trouble finding elsewhere. You can visit them one week, and the next week they have more great stuff in. I haven't been a frequent customer at the other retro gaming stores in the area because it's always the same products. Boom Boom always has new and exciting things, so they're worth the frequent visits. They price things fairly, and their rewards program gives you opportunities to save money with points redemption. Every dollar counts! The staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They constantly run events in store. The owner, Ben, runs an Easter Egg Hunt around Billerica with prizes. My children love it and look forward to it annually! Boom Boom just recently did a Christmas raffle, and for Thanksgiving they did a Turkey Shoot (nerf gun to an electronic target) to determine percentage off the purchase. They keep things fresh and give everyone a chance to get involved in the fun. It's obvious how much the Ben cares and is passionate about the store, and the customers who frequent it. They're also very active on socials to keep everyone informed on the latest updates. I've recently them doing unboxing videos. They have been interesting to watch to get a first look at what's coming in. I am a collector of all things retro gaming, and Boom Boom games is where most of my items come from. Not to mention they have clothing items, retro toys to make you feel nostalgic, and it's not my thing, but they have a substantial wrestling toy and item collection. They also get video games and consoles in pretty quickly. I've gone there on the day of releases before to get games ahead of the crowd. This hasn't been an issue for them. Me and my family will definitely be back there often, as each one of us finds things we love at Boom Boom.

I'm mobile to to be able to switch to a cane for a short time, but that limits how long I can spend anywhere. The store is very tiny and cramped.
