Raffi, the 30-year experience owner is the BEST! I live in LA for more than 10 years and I have to say he is the honest and kind mechanic! My BMW 328i truck latch was broken and can't be opened by remote control. Can't be open by key at the back either and I have to fix it. I took it to a few mechanics, some asked me to leave my car for a few days but did nothing, some asked for $300 before they even take a look at it! Today Raffi just take a look, identify the main problem is the broken wire on the right side, pull out the broken wire, reconnect both ends and it took him less than 30 min. With his experience, it took him no time to identify the problem! When I asked him how much, he just let me go! I told him that I can't believe he didn't charge me! So kind! This broken trunk has caused me a few months of problem because most mechanics are so busy yet inexperienced to fix it! I'm posting this on my social media to recommend Raffi to all my friends! This is the worst machanic i have ever been to!!! stay far far away. Rafi is a liar and the biggest scammer. He prays on old people and steals their money. He cheated and scammed my old disabled mother. She brought her car there because the engine light was on. I had taken her car to 2 different mechanics that had given a list of things that needed fixing. Both of their lists included the same 6 things. One gave an estimate of $397 and another gave an estimate of $420. My mom took the car to him with the estimates the other mechanics gave to show him which parts need fixing. He told her $500 but he would do a good job. My mom is disabled and 73 years old on oxygen and she said okay. When she got the bill, it only added to $400. He had only fixed two things on the car and none of the others charging $500. The light on the dashboard was still on after he fixed it. I took the car back to him the next day and told him he had not fixed all the parts especially the part leaking oil which was the biggest problem. He said i told your mom i was only going to fix the spark plugs. I never told her i would fix the other stuff. I told him that she showed you the other estimates with what needed to be fixed and you told her you would do it. He said no she only showed me that after she took the car which is a complete lie because my sister was a witness and was there with my mom when she took it in. Why would someone pay $500 to fix one thing instead of $397 or $420 to fix everything. When i told him the light on the dashboard was still on he said he fixed it but the sensor is not working and that is why the light was on. He is a complete liar and thief. I would not trust him at all. He pretends to fix your car but only fixes one thing charges for 5 things and then your car doesn't work and he pretends that another thing is wrong to charge you again. He prays on the elderly because he knows they can't defend themselves and they would never open the hood to look and see he actually did'nt fix anything. This is not only wrong but completely unsafe. You think your car is fixed but its fake and he only stole your money. If you go on the freeway you might die!!! Do not ever go to this guy. Your car will not be safe to drive afterwards. He is by far the biggest scammer. I was recommended to this place a couple years ago by an auto body guy I know and trust and they have always done right by me. I love this place because they are honest and that's rare to find. As a woman many auto places think we are dumb when it comes to these things and they often try to rip you off. I drive a lot and it puts a lot of wear and tear on my vehicle, so I've had to have it serviced multiple times. I've visited other places because they were so called specialists in what I needed and twice have been quoted exhorbitant prices for services needed. I'd then go to Sniper and Raffi has checked my car, and told me I didn't need what the other mechanics claimed was broken and he was able to fix the initial problem and always charged a fair price. Needed an alignment so I checked out the Yelp reviews. Glad I did. The raving reviews were spot on! It took less than 30 minutes. They even did a test drive first, to confirm if an alignment was needed. One thing to note, is there's no place to sit and wait. Bring a folding chair or go grab a cup of coffee somewhere while you're waiting...or do like me, look at your smart phone and endorse all those LinkedIn connections you have! having a classic seems to make previous mechanics go into a strange daze-usually with the comment, it's an old car. Duh! it's mine, I know how old it is. Over the years, after trusting my repairs to different mechanics that I thought, because the shop had been in business would be do the repair as diagnosed. Well, time after time, of having to return and being told; "oh, my work is right, but, because the car is "old", now this needs to be done-of course, the next repair was $$$ more. I was ready to let my Classic GO!! I'd had more than enough of trusting shops with my repairs, and after having to return multiple times in an effort of getting the repair done correctly, rudeness of incompetent mechanics and the high 'gouging' repair costs -I Was Too Tired of trusting and being disappointed with the work I'd paid to be done correctly. If they couldn't repair my car, just be honest with me, that's what I wanted, not having me pay for work; if any work was actually done when I had to leave my car at the shop. I took my car here based on a recommendation and regret it. I simply asked for an oil and filter change of my car and left the car there over the weekend . I now have my car back and the oil is still showing critically low. Forget about getting a hold of "Raffi" who always seems too rushed to care about what you have to say . This one is disappointing. I'm giving 2 stars instead of one because I've been a customer of Raffi's for at least 5 years, and have gotten good service. If you read the other negative reviews, you'll see a common theme of Raffi having really poor communication when something goes wrong, or having too much business to offer adequate service. He needs to take a second, breathe, and understand that he is not being attacked, and try to calmly address the issues at hand. That was my situation. Not only did he take 3 days to replace a hose when he originally said I'd have it the next day ( he said that he had 20 other cars and that no one had the part, but then call and let me know!) But my engine felt exactly the same post-work and continued to die. The shop was closed after I picked it up the first time on Wednesday, so I had to go back before work the next day, Thursday. I explained that my engine was doing the same thing--oil light fluttering, making a fan sound, shutting down, when I brought it back the second time. I also said that because I use my car for both of my jobs, I needed him to let me know if it was going to take a day longer,so I could have adjusted accordingly, and he hushed me, like he did with another reviewer, and then put his fingers in his ears and said "la, la, la.". At this point, I'm using public transportation and walking, so I got my car back the second time on Thursday at 5pm after work. Again, same thing, same issues, but again, the shop is closed now. Friday morning, I take it back. Mind you, I took it in for the first time on Monday. I start to tell Raffi that the car is doing the same thing. I'm calm, he starts at a place of agitation and excitement. He asks me what, and I tell him The fluttering fan sound, engine light, the engine dying, and he tells me that I never told him about the oil light fluttering--uhm...yes I did. He then starts shouting at me. The only thing he did do right in this whole thing was apologize ultimately and give me a refund. He needs to work on his professionalism. Shouting, shutting people down, and dragging his feet on work just don't work. It's disappointing, because once you find a good mechanic, you'll keep them forever, but I guess this was not the case. read more

Mechanics are perhaps the hardest business to figure out --- or rather: trust. You just never know what to believe or understand if you're not a car person. These guys SHOW YOU the problem and what they're going to fix and they fix it. No run around, no "maybe this - maybe that"...i have total trust in these guys. They're good people and they do good work: a total rarity (not saying mechanics are untrustworthy! Just saying that there are some bad ones ---as with any business out there---and the stakes are higher - cost). I took my car in for what sounded like a big problem with shocks/swaybar/axle. Horrible sound. Sounded like a lot of $$$ to fix. Turned out to be an easy fix. They did it quick and affordable. read more

I can't say enough positive things about Rafi and Sniper Alignment! I brought my car to Rafi after being told by a previous mechanic that I was going to have over $2500 repairs and that my front right headlight was not working due to an electrical issue. I felt hesitant with the other shop so due to a recommendation of a family member I brought it into Sniper Alignment. Rafi took a look at my car and fixed the front headlight free of charge. He said that it was not due to an electrical issue, but rather just the bulb needed tightening...lo and behold it is now working! Also, Rafi said that the list of other repairs were unnecessary at this time. Bravo to Rafi for being a fair and honest mechanic. (this is not meant to be defamatory, just my honest opinion/experience) I urge you my sensible friend to take caution, your safety may depend on it. I was recommended by a cheap friend, "You'll save a ton of money here but you might have to bring your car in a few times before they actually fix it correctly." "Save a ton of money" was all I needed to hear and I disregarded the rest because I myself am cheap, a decision I regret because my car is now damaged beyond repair. I got a printed diagnosis from another auto shop and showed the paperwork to Raffi and told him what I needed to be done (alignment/ control arm replacement) He confidently said he could fix my cars wobble without having to replace the part. SCORE, or so I thought. I brought my car in the week after the initial adjustment and one of the mechanics told me "Just drive it around and see what happens. Bring it in again if you have any problems." My car still didn't feel secure so I made plans to bring it in for the THIRD time. Week 3: Seconds away from getting on the freeway I heard a loud scrape and lost control of my steering. My control arm (something I assumed any qualified mechanic would check before releasing my car into the wild) completely snapped. I called to explain my problem and I expressed to him that I speculated the damage to my car was a result of the neglected control arm. Raffi was very rude and kept interrupting me and insisted it is not his problem and that my car was fine when he checked. *click* My advice: go to a mechanic that will take time to thoroughly check your car + address your needs the first time. This NEGLIGENCE not only had the potential to disastrously affect me, but others on the road. Even if it costs more to take your vehicle somewhere else, I surmise it could save your life to choose a reputable place. RAFFI IS THE BESTTTTTTT I don't know sh*t about cars other than MINE has not been working properly, and never has. I bought it from a crook and for almost a year I've been dragging my car around town to thieves and idiots that promise to fix the issues and have charged me thousands of dollars more than the car is even worth, without results. (2006 Hyundai Sonata) I was nearly in tears when it started to break down yet AGAIN and the check engine light went on, when I was referred to Raffi at Sniper Alignment. Just for background I have a 95' Honda Accord Sniper Automotive is AMAZING and absolute lifesavers! Before them I was almost guaranteed to spend $2,000 each trip to a mechanic... just to have even more issues than when I took it in. Raffi and the team have kept my car going for over 2 years strong and I don't think I've even come close to $1,000 despite the multiple issues and visits! They always find the problem and fix it the most efficient way possible! Beyond that at no charge they've filled up all my fluids (multiple times) as well as stapled my car back together after an accident. They are honest and I literally almost cried the first time when I got the total... and it wasn't $2,000. I can't remember what it was exactly maybe $50-$200 but it was ridiculously low in comparison to what other places had been quoting/trying to charge me. They always seem to fit me in without prior notice and on average I'm in and out within the hour. I cannot recommend them enough! I tell everyone how lucky I am to have found THE BEST mechanic/auto shop ever! If I had a daughter (or any family) in LA I would want them to go here! read more

I have used these guys at Sniper's a few times and they are so efficient and professional. I have not seen a more decent and fair group of mechanics in Los Angeles EVER! They are able to quote a price and keep that price without the call back saying "It's gonna cost more, due to a bolt breaking" or whatever. Okay, the place is messy. It is small. But, Raffi is the best. He is Russian. But he makes everyone feel like we all live in his home. He takes good care of our auto needs. I went there for front wheel alignment, he got it done. Then, I also bought synthetic mobil one oil and he did my oil change too. Tomorrow, he said he will find the missing door moulding for me.
