Snip-Snaps of Guilford is an amazing family-friendly salon.  With special chairs kid friendly chairs (race cars, barbie jeeps, etc) and kid friendly entertainment (kid television programming, video games), it is a perfect place for folks of all ages to get their salon needs met.  I have 3 very "spirited" boys--6 year old twins and a 2 year old--none of whom are able to sit without squirming all over the place.  One of my boys has difficulty with unfamiliar sensory stimulation (ie. buzz cutters).  Liz is so incredibly patient, kind, trustworthy, and talented, that my boys' hair comes out perfectly every time.  She has even cut my hair (they do adults too!) and I have always been extremely pleased.  I would recommend Liz from Snip-Snaps (Guilford) any day for family-friendly haircuts!  She is just amazing! And for the record, the 2 negative reviews posted occurred while Liz was on maternity leave, and you can rest assured that Crystal is no longer employed there, and it is impeccably clean!! Liz is an outstanding hairdresser for all ages especially her children. She is very dedicated to her work and her clients. She is exceptional when working with children it is amazing to see. We love snip snaps! As a mom of two very picky, fussy girls (6 and 1.5) I struggled with finding a place that could handle their demanding personalities. Snip Snaps has been such a wonderful experience for us. They always make sure my girls are happy so I can take a few minutes to relax! You really can't get service like that anywhere else these days. That's why I don't mind traveling from New Haven, knowing that we are always leaving with smiles on our faces! Even though this salon is geared more towards children, I go there to have my hair done. Liz, the owner, is an amazingly talented stylist and the ONLY person I trust with my hair. She knows exactly what she's doing and I have NEVER left disappointed. I have recommended this place to several friends and they've all had the same experience. I drive over an hour to get there and pass many salons on my way. If you're in the market for a new stylist, definitely give Liz a call. Love this salon. Liz has been cutting my sons hair for almost 4 years. Liz is both adept at giving my son an awesome haircut and easing his anxiety in the chair. My son hasn't always been the most willing haircut candidate I'll say and Liz has shown numerous times great patience & humor in dealing with him. I actually tried having a friend cut his hair and my son said afterwards- "I want Liz.." This coming from the child who doesn't look forward always to getting haircuts!!! Snip snaps is the only place to go! I've been taking my son here for a few years now and I still travel from NY for Liz to cut my son's hair. She's by far the best around. Completely professional and caring and will always do what she can to accommodate you since her schedule is packed bc again she's the best at cutting hair and not just kids, she's done mine as well and is amazing. Not many people can do kids haircuts it's not easy and I give her so much credit but she's gentle and quick and always comes out perfect. Highly recommend her! Absolutely love this place!!!! Been going there for a few years. My kids love going there. Love the owner Liz. She's fantastic. She awesome with my kids and has the patience especially with my hyper 5 year old. I went there for a hair cut not really knowing what I was looking for. Huge fan of Snip Snaps. I began by bringing my nephews here for a haircut and that resulted in me asking Liz to cut my hair as well. Three years later and she is still the only hairdresser I allow to cut it. She is fast, precise, and exceeds all expectations especially with her newly renovated salon!!! I took my son to snip snap to get his hair cut crystal was very polite and did a wonderful job. This was one of the best experiences I have had at a salon. My son gets scared with the trimer so she pretended that it tickled so he would let her do it. Crystal made my son feel very comfortable and safe. He actually asked if we could go back to see her again to do his hair. My son loves his hair cut and so do I. Crystal is very skilled in her profession. I've been looking for a salon for my daughters first hair cut (20 months). I came across Snip Snaps in a google search and saw their amazing reviews. I was able to call on Friday for an appointment on Saturday. From the second we walked in the door, staff were friendly and welcoming. Sam was an absolute pleasure to work with. Snip Snap is the only place where I take my two little boys to get their hair cut. Liz has been cutting their hair for 4+ years and we won't go to anyone else! She is professional, kind and has the patience of a saint. I'm not sure how she manages to stay calm among the screaming and squirming but she is amazing! Liz is seriously amazing. She came in early in the morning on her day off the fix my hair (I let my boyfriend foil it for me) she did an excellent job color correcting it and getting it where I wanted it to be without having take out a loan from the bank... she's very personable, does a wonderful job, and has great prices.
