Courtney is so unbelievably talented, I will never go to another stylist. I come in for very infrequent haircuts yet every cut she does only gets better. She works with the trends along with what my ideal cut would look like. I came in to the salon pretty down and in need of a change yesterday and she delivered. I asked for collar bone length with a few face framing pieces at chin length with no blunt cuts and she worked her magic on my super straight and fine hair. I couldn't believe how the woman (will not mention her name but the only one wearing thick black glasses) cut my hair, nothing at all as I asked! I just couldn't believe what she did! Not only gave me a completely different cut than i asked she butchered me, then continued to give me the worst blow dry, nothing as I would wear it! She insisted she knew what she was doing as I told her what are you doing to me...apparently she wasn't done with me yet after it was dried still cutting more hair off saying one side is longer than the other! I went home and had a good cry! I had shoulder-length hair when i walked into the salon. All I needed was a trim .....omg it was shorter than chin length when i left..... the worst cut! When I called for the appt, she was highly recommended by the receptionist due to her years of experience.....WHAT A JOKE!! Do yourselves a favor....just DON'T GO THERE!! read more

I have been here MANY, MANY times. If I checked in every time I go here I would probably have over 300 check-ins over the last five years. So, I know exactly what an awesome service/experience in a salon should be. Pretty much everyone in the salon has blown out /styled my hair. They are all pretty good here, but I must say that Elle is my absolute favorite hands down, no contest. She is the only person that I actually let CUT my hair. As for a Keratin treatment (as my hair is a sponge for humidity), I think Maria is the very best. No contest. If you want incredibly awesome highlights, NO ONE does them like Timmy (only I ever call him that), He paints them free hand right into my hair, and they always come out incredibly well. Overpriced and a factory like experience. I've been going to Timothy Pamment for several years and have seen multiple people at the salon - from "stylists" to a "master colorist." All the stylists are fairly competent and I appreciate that they are open even on Saturdays and Sundays. I've been able to get very last-minute appointments there which has been a life-saver a couple of times. For the $$$ prices they charge, you might expect a serene upscale spa-like experience. Prepare to be disappointed because it's like a zoo certain days and they rush you in and out of there like you're at a drive thru. I would steer clear of Tyler - she's very rough with the hair brush and she burned me with the dryer twice, even after I mentioned it to her the first time. I went in for color with Danielle who I saw for a total of about 2 minutes - she had someone else do all the work even though I paid a "master" stylist rate. Most of the stylists are nice but a few (e.g. Natalie) are very snooty and make you feel like you are not worth their time. I think it's a status thing for people in Madison to say that they go to Timothy Pamment because it's really a mediocre salon that's not worth the high prices. read more

The only place I'll go! I have been seeing the brilliant Jordan Sparkx since nearly 15 years ago when he was a stylist at Garren in NYC. When he told me he was moving out of the city and to a beautiful salon in Connecticut, I knew I wouldn't let the distance get in the way of my loyalty...I trust Jordan blindly with my hair. His instincts are 2nd to none. He can read my mood, knows what works for my hair and lifestyle, and how to effortlessly refresh my look. Jordan pays attention to the details and never makes me feel like just another client. He makes me feel like an absolute star everyone time I'm in his chair. I went to Timothy Pamment Salon to see Melissa for partial blond highlights and a hair cut. Melissa at TPS was AMAZING! She was super attentive, asked questions, and listened to my likes and dislikes when it comes to blond highlights. She offered suggestions on how to improve my color (I was a little overprocessed from years of highlighting). She also suggested products to protect color treated hair from drying out. I loved the highlights and low lights that she suggested to give my hair a more natural look. Melissa is young and trendy and her work is modern - this is not your mom's hairstylist. The salon is clean and chic. Receptionist and assistant were both friendly! I recently moved to Boston and I had a really bad experience with highlights and paid way too much only to leave unhappy. SO I'm so happy to find quality and value (appx $110) from Melissa. (I went to TPS because I was visiting family in Madison and I was desperate for good color without the city prices in Boston $200+. TPS is a hidden gem outside of the city.) The cut was great. She cleaned up my long layers and dead ends. Everything looked even and great. She finished with a blow out. PERFECTION! Will continue to go to Melissa in Madison even though I have to commute from Boston! read more

Hairdressers that do not listen to what you want and do what they want instead (for your $300), front desk attendants who are not only snobby and self important, are also billing you for services you don't see. Estheticians who take personal offense (and take it out on you) if you would like something different about a service. Ridiculously overpriced products pushed as necessities. You have to be really New York street smart to survive at this place without being taken advantage of. No wonder it's so nice, the profit they are making unbeknownst to their clients is gigantic. I did at first appreciate the call I received right after the review I posted. But it also meant that they knew all along that this happened and only acted on it after the public complaint. During the call they tried to convince me that I was late...no, honey. I waited over 15 minutes and tried to keep working with my project binder. Upon meeting Natalie she was very welcoming and didn't amazing job. The entire staff at the salon are top notch. The salon only uses the highest quality products on their clients. It was my first time visiting this salon today, I saw Tyler for hair color and she was amazing. Long story short, I had been to a different salon previously for a balayage and was unhappy, went back to that same salon and ended up with an all-over dark dyed color. I called up TPS and the front desk receptionist, Michelle, was great and got me in with Tyler within a few days. She also set up a consultation prior to my actual color appointment. Tyler listened to what I wanted and also offered her professional suggestions as well. She did a subtle balayage, adding some dimension to my hair. She also took the time to blow dry my hair after so we could see the color and make sure I was happy with it. I would highly recommend her and I'll be coming here next time I want my hair done. Oh no. The salon is very clean. But the employees are not experienced. I got my hair colored and it came out horrible. I even had my hairdresser from back home call and give her the exact color numbers and formulas ( I didn't have time to go home before a wedding) My roots were showing, they were so dark. And I asked her if she could fix it. And she told me "dark roots is in right now" :0 I was shocked. I will not go back. Amazing quality! I've been coming here for cut and color for almost two years after moving up from New York City. Recently had my wedding hair along with the bridal party done here, so amazingly happy with those results. Melissa did the most beautiful braided up-do that was just slightly messy, the way I like it, and the bridesmaids got beachy blowouts. Despite 100% humidity and running from a freak rain cloud, our hair looked fabulous all night! Melissa also regularly cuts and styles my hair. She is so fun to work with and she can tame my extremely thick long wavy hair quickly. I can usually get 4 days out of her blowouts and the shape lasts nicely. Coco does amazing color. She took me from damaged and brassy to a beautiful ashy blond ombre that we adjust with highlights and low lights depending on the season. I can go much longer between touch ups because the way she highlights allows my roots to grow in naturally and its not obvious where the color stops and my natural hair begins. This was my first yelp review and probably be my last. I find it very difficult to believe that ratings from as far back as 2009 are far more informative for a service organization than more current ones. I would think as a reviewer you would like to keep the public informed as how the reviewed shop operates currently. I was extremely disappointed in the service ??????? (questionable) this salon provided and felt that other people needed to be forewarned. It is a pricey endeavor and the flip attitude is very distressing. Further, it appears that they do not want new customers, because that is where most of the complaints are coming from. If they are comfortable with their current customer base, so be it. But anyone contemplating using their service should know this ahead of time. read more

This salon is great. Jamie is a great colorist, she made getting full highlights a pleasant and efficient experience, which is not the usual case for me. She also suggested that I get two tones of highlights (at no extra cost), which really worked out. Everyone in this place was really nice and professional. One of the best hair salon places I've been to, including the more expensive places in Manhattan. Would definitely go here again. They also let you blowdry your own hair if you want so you don't have to pay another $50 or something if you are not going out that day, which I find to be very considerate since I don't like sitting there for an extra 30 minutes and have people tugging on my hair when there is no need. read more

I'm writing this for city girls gone country who are scared of getting their haircut in a strip mall. I basically picked the most expensive salon I could find in southeastern CT and it totally paid off. Not only were they just as great as any salon I'd been to in Boston (over 10 years I'd been around) but they were better. Coco actually did what I've been asking for all along. I have lots of highlights and I always seem to leave the salon blonder that I came in--even when I say I'm interested in getting back to my low maintenance dark blonde natural color. Coco made a plan to get me back to my natural color over time and did exactly what I asked for. The cut was decent--I'm sure no one gets to flex their skills on long layers. I strongly recommend this salon for their expertise in colorists and stylists! I did A LOT of research on hair salons before deciding on Timothy Pamment and ultimately chose their salon because of the owner's training and education as well as the staff's. They also use and retail high end hair products. The receptionist, Bree, was super friendly and accommodating when I called to schedule an appt for a color and cut. Just so happened that I lucked out with Jamie, a brilliant colorist (I LOVE MY BLONDE HIGHLIGHTS), and Coco, a skilled stylist who took time style my hair and also instructed me on how to do it. Jamie and Coco both worked together to select the best products for my hair (knowing I was on a budget), which was very helpful and appreciated! After 8 years of traveling 2 hours to get my hair cut, I finally decided to go by a friend's recommendation of Timothy Pamment Salon. I have had my hair cut by Terri twice, the first was a trim with some light layers. She did a great job, so I decided to go for a more precise cut (inverted bob with bangs), and she nailed it! Every single hair falls perfectly, and every time I style it at home, it looks just like it did the day I walked out of the salon. That's a true testament to Terri's skills as a stylist. It was time for a change of style and my friends coached me into updating. I was on vacation and it was scary to put your appearance into an unknown stylist and do such a drastic change. I wanted a root touch up and was told on the phone it's 75. which was fine. Then stylest said nonamonia color is 90. I haven't used amonia on my hair in 10 years and was suprised at the upsale. The color was great and I love it get this; to comb it through from the roots to end of my shoulder length hair is called a "color balance" and they charged 40. more for it. They do not blow dry your hair unless you pay 50. more. You can however use their dryer and products. In the end all I can say is that I liked the color but the upsell strategy is offensive. read more

Well I was a very good customer always on time, spent alot of money ($700-800) a month, never complained, and I always left large tips. I loved it here they would give you a good hair cut and a decent color ya know the works. I thought I found the salon of my dreams, until one day I was leaving for my hair appointment and right before I pulled out of my driveway I received a call explaining to me my old sick uncle (Jim) just got arrested for drug possession. I was so very shocked and deeply saddened. After a brief crying session I called timothy pamment and explained I would be running 20 minutes late due to some family issues, the women said "oh yeah that's fine" And I proceeded to drive anxiously to the salon, then abruptly about 5 minutes away from the salon they called me back and told me they can't wait any longer and they have to move my appointment back 3 hours. I was shocked, I thought " first my uncle and now this sh*t" I told them to forget it, at this point I went to pick my uncle up from jail where he told me to not take there baloney and to go back to your old hairdresser. I laughed a little at first but I realized he was right and I should've never left my old salon. The next day I scheduled a hair appointment at my old salon and when I arrived all my old hairdressers where there, they treated me like royalty, the owner even gave me a welcome back $500 gift certificate. Knowadays I stay away from Timothy Pamment and from there patrons, I know deep in my heart that Timothy pamment was just not for me and I mainly thank my uncles drug problem for that. Simply the best! I heard about Timothy Pamment Salon from Elle Magazine. They are open all week, even on Sunday & Monday! I was able to call and make an appointment easily the day before with Holly. Holly understood what I wanted after our consultation and was able to give me the hair color I had shown her in a photo. She also blow dried my hair and styled it beautifully.
