We loved learning that the in-door pool opened at 7am. Plenty early enough for us to still get on the road early for a leisurely drive through the Grand Teton in the morning. Our room was nice. Since we are elderly and our room was on the second floor (no elevator) , it was very convenient to have a room close to the stairs. We were amazed that there were no USB ports at all in our room. Who doesn't provide USB ports? The front desk staff were very helpful in providing information on nearby businesses where we could buy USB charging ports for our iPhone charging cables and our portable batteries. We enjoyed all the other amenities in our room. We loved the facilities themselves. The restaurant was outstanding! We were greeted enthusiastically as soon as we crossed the threshold. Our server, Jamie, was superb in every way--her demeanor, her knowledge of the food items, her interest in the fact that this is our "Birthday Road Trip" and her quality service. We are so glad Jamie raved about the Huckleberry lemonade and encouraged us to try it. That lemonade was delicious! The food was outstanding ! The portions were so large, as much as we hated to, we couldn't finish those huge steaks or all of the corn appetizer. The garlic mashed potatoes and garlic beans were delicious. What was especially beautiful about the beans is that they were cooked just right. Jamie served us bread with what she explained is their signature whipped mascarpone cream with honey . It was so very good. We loved being in the restaurant and lingered after our dinner. We loved the ambiance, the service (Jamie helped us celebrate our birthdays), the music playing in the background, the room temperature and the fire burning in the fireplace. It was a wonderful dining experience and we hated to have it end. Looking forward to breakfast in the morning.

The restaurant onsite (5 stars) is amazing for dinner. Great job on our steak dinners. Chef even…read morecame to check on us, special touch. Room was a bit old (2 stars), could use improvement on vibe of the rooms. For the Continental bfast I would recommend HOT eggs/scrambled etc like other motels/hotels. But staff is friendly.

Closed for good. We had many fun nights here. It was a great spot and a piece of Alpine history.read more

It's amazing how one can find an absolute gem of a restaurant in the most unlikely of places…read more The Nordic Inn is a a small B&B nestled in the woods of Alpine, Wyoming, about 45 minutes out of Jackson Hole, near the border of Wyoming and Idaho. It's very close to Palisades Lake; a huge expanse of blue water surrounded by breathtaking scenery courtesy of the Teton Mountains. If John Denver were alive, he would probably come here often. The restaurant is actually called "Brenthoven's." The menu is immediately eclectic and gives little hints that the chef- who also runs the bar- knows what he's doing. It's a favorite among backcountry pilots- the reason I was there- and is not only a great little restaurant, but is also a happening bar with an unlikely, interesting clientele. There were 6 of us for dinner, and I have to be honest: nothing was even close to mediocre. All the dishes were simply out of this world. Delicate flavors, bold swaths of color, perfect preparation, world-class presentation. It was amazing. Highlights: The pumpkin soup is like nothing I've ever had. Forget what it's called. Just know it's one of the tastiest little cups of anything you'll ever have the privilege to eat. The Cod Parmesan is the star here. It's a delicate, souffle-like concoction, with a beautiful light cod flavor and a perfect texture. The Parmesan adds JUST the right amount of counterbalance to the cod, along with a myriad of other ingredients. This is the stuff of dreams. I'd fly to Wyoming just to have this. The steak (Rib-eye) was like butter and with enough flavor to satisfy an Argentinian escaping from a vegetarian fat farm. Just excellent. The salads were fresh and crisp and the bread was just--baked. I'm told the drinks in the bar are extra strong...for what that's worth. This is a world-class gourmet restaurant hiding among the cowboy-pseudo-western trappings of Wyoming. Don't let the location fool you, the Nordic Inn could be numbered among the truly great restaurants in the West. It was that good.
