There's no seating available which is probably the biggest downfall of the business. It's currently 3:42pm on a Monday and there are 3 people in here so it's not very busy at this time. Some of the patrons are playing music and videos on their phones very loudly which shouldn't be allowed inside. Coin-operated machines as opposed to having a laundry card- another downfall. Overall, acceptable!

There are: -3 giant loader machines $5.25 -7 triple loader machines $3.75 -14 double loader machines $2.00 The dryers are huge and you could definitely dry multiple loads in one. Dryers are 25 cents for 8 mins. Decent amount of machines but I imagine the weekends fill up rather quickly. There's an ATM, coin machine, and a few laundry carts. I'm pretty happy with the cleanliness of this place too. I hate when laundry mats have dirt, grime, and soap scum all over the place - gross. They have some ceiling fans which help get some air flow in the narrow space. My only thing is the spot is kinda small so there isn't much sitting room (hence the 4 stars). On a busy day, you may have to drop a load (no pun intended lol) and come back for it later. They also do dry cleaning. Haven't tried it so can't speak towards it but I took a picture of their price list.

When I discovered this place, though, the absolute perfection of their service, the finish in their work, and the HOSPITALITY of everybody who works here--Salem, who runs the place, most of all--is unmatched anywhere in the neighborhood. They are attentive, detail-oriented and thoughtful in the extreme. Salem remembered my name from the second time I walked in the door, and he does this with all his customers. When my daughter went through a princess dress phase, his staff--WITHOUT ASKING OR CHARGING--hang dried every dress. Every member of the staff remembers my preferences. They treat everybody, from all backgrounds, whether you are paying for wash and fold or doing your own wash, with the utmost respect and care. The machines are clean and well maintained, they take cards, they help you out. They have in seven years not lost a single item of my clothing, and I wash 40 pounds with them every week. If you opened a brand new laundromat directly across the street from me and charged half the price, I would 100% still walk up the street to Si Laundromat. They are a perfect small New York business run by somebody who really cares and does right by you and your clothes. This is the laundromat you are here to find.

I normally don't do reviews, but I had to in this instance. Saturday, May 16th, I brought in a…read moreBurberry trench coat to have the sleeves shortened slightly to address some minor fraying from normal wear. Just have the sleeves shortened so that the fraying no longer showed or would get worse. I paid $25 for the work, pretty reasonable. The tailoring work itself was done well, the sleeve was shortened and finished cleanly, so I want to be fair about that. My issue is with how the coat was handled and returned to me. When I picked it up, the coat was tightly stuffed into a thin plastic bag which was tied up, as shown in the attached photos. I was literally shocked when the woman handed it to me. She was not the alteration lady so I didn't want to subject her to my anger, but I did say "it couldn't be put on a hanger at least"? She was apologetic and offered to get a hanger but I live only a few blocks away so I didn't see the point. Plus I wanted to take pictures. As a result, the coat was heavily wrinkled from being compressed into the bag (see photos) for two days (my given pick up date was Saturday, May 23rd and I picked it up today Tuesday evening), and honestly it was disappointing to see a garment I cherish being treated in such a careless manner by people I PAID to take care of it. I attached pictures of how the coat was presented to me and how it looked when I took it out of the bag. While I value my clothing A LOT, I am very easy going. I didn't expect luxury presentation or even steaming or pressing. I actually steam my coats every time I wear them. But I also didn't expect to have it returned to me shoved into a plastic bag like a dish rag. Every other place I have had alterations done, they won't press or steam the item unless asked to (I totally understand that) but at the least they put it on a hanger, even if it's a wire one. Especially a suit jacket or coat. This shouldn't happen to a $20 thrift store coat, let alone a coat worth over $1,000 dollars. It's a tailored garment - now the labels are out of shape and it's unwearable without considerable steaming and pressing. You want a clean and quiet place to wash your clothes YOURSELF? By all means go here. If you need to entrust your clothes to staff to have them cleaned or altered, hard pass if my experience is anything to go by.

Idk where I'll move to next because my lease is almost up but hopefully there's a place with similar quality and also inexpensive nearby.

Not all that far from a minor level of hell…read more The room is overcrowded, with too many machines for its size placed in close proximity, and the aisles are narrow. Dryers are almost always at a premium. There are two benches to sit. The staff (who I kind of feel for) is basically fine and can be friendly enough, but the customers, a mix of families, hipsters, twenty somethings, and people from the hood, are the usual NYC subject: disinterested, inconsiderate, oblivious to anything but their own interests, aloof, but also mildly aggressive. If you want to put money on your laundry card using a credit card, there is now a $25 minimum. Out of the two machines that make change for cash, one is broken, and there is no ATM :) The dry cleaning service was good when I used it years ago. I'd say avoid Clean City if you can except for dry cleaning service.

So I went back Thursday at 2pm and the employee (a different woman from Monday) looked at the ticket and said no it won't be ready until 4pm. I was frustrated, but left and came back at 4pm. When I returned at 4pm I spoke with the woman from Monday night who told me the clothes would not be done until 9pm. This is especially frustrating because I was leaving for a week at 5pm and would not be able to come back until I returned. My roommate offered to return the following day (Friday morning) to pick up my items. When she returned she was told that the dry cleaning machine was broken and my items were not ready. They added that they had no timeline for when it would be fixed. They also did not offer to return the items and issue a refund. 3 days later my roommate received a text message (she'd left them her phone number so she could receive updates) which said not only were the clothes ready for pickup, but they'd been ready for several days already (it had only been 3 days since she'd been told there was no timeline for a fix). I will never go back to this business. Despite being ultimately pleased with the quality of their work (the clothes were VERY clean) their lack of transparency as well as their poor customer service left me with a bad taste in my mouth. They were so sketchy about the whole thing. A terrible way to run a business and treat a first time customer. I wouldn't trust them with anything.
