Not all that far from a minor level of hell…read more The room is overcrowded, with too many machines for its size placed in close proximity, and the aisles are narrow. Dryers are almost always at a premium. There are two benches to sit. The staff (who I kind of feel for) is basically fine and can be friendly enough, but the customers, a mix of families, hipsters, twenty somethings, and people from the hood, are the usual NYC subject: disinterested, inconsiderate, oblivious to anything but their own interests, aloof, but also mildly aggressive. If you want to put money on your laundry card using a credit card, there is now a $25 minimum. Out of the two machines that make change for cash, one is broken, and there is no ATM :) The dry cleaning service was good when I used it years ago. I'd say avoid Clean City if you can except for dry cleaning service.

So I went back Thursday at 2pm and the employee (a different woman from Monday) looked at the ticket and said no it won't be ready until 4pm. I was frustrated, but left and came back at 4pm. When I returned at 4pm I spoke with the woman from Monday night who told me the clothes would not be done until 9pm. This is especially frustrating because I was leaving for a week at 5pm and would not be able to come back until I returned. My roommate offered to return the following day (Friday morning) to pick up my items. When she returned she was told that the dry cleaning machine was broken and my items were not ready. They added that they had no timeline for when it would be fixed. They also did not offer to return the items and issue a refund. 3 days later my roommate received a text message (she'd left them her phone number so she could receive updates) which said not only were the clothes ready for pickup, but they'd been ready for several days already (it had only been 3 days since she'd been told there was no timeline for a fix). I will never go back to this business. Despite being ultimately pleased with the quality of their work (the clothes were VERY clean) their lack of transparency as well as their poor customer service left me with a bad taste in my mouth. They were so sketchy about the whole thing. A terrible way to run a business and treat a first time customer. I wouldn't trust them with anything.

They don't advertise dry-cleaning services but will send out your dry-cleaning if you ask at competitive pricing and great quality. I support local merchants in the neighborhood and this is a second-generation family business. I use their wash/dry/fold service. It is excellent- competitively priced but more to the point they take great care of their customers. And they are always on time. Highly recommend!

They fold, press, sort and fold your socks, underwear, listen to your needs if you want something bleached or washed separately, and it's all ONLY $0.60/lb. They can not be beat. I guess they're not organic, but so what. I have incredibly sensitive skin and am highly allergic to things with oats like Aveeno products... so I'd probably be allergic to that stuff anyway. This place is AWESOME. I've been dozens of times and always have the same quality service and my stuff comes back folded and put in tightly sealed plastic so its still even a little warm when I get it home. Never had something damaged or lost an article of clothing. They have a send-off dry cleaning service that did a great job on my huge winter puffy coat for just $12. I'm moving into Manhattan soon and will miss this place the most. Cash only.

There's a change machine that converts all US bills $20 or less to quarters. You can buy everything you need to wash an dry from the attendant who works here, or being your own. They also offer services if you want her to wash, dry, and fold for you. I had only one bad experience with a washer leaving my clothes dripping wet after use. The sweet lady rectified it and put money in another machine, and she fast-forwarded the washer setting to quickly spin my clothes damp enough for the dryer. Solved! Initially I was grossed out by the review with photos with the mold on them. It's true. But! I justified that it was only on the top of the lids (not inside), so technically it never actually touches your detergent to enter into the wash. For real. I felt bad because one time I was there past closing because my clothes weren't dry yet. They were so gracious because I arrived way before. Please don't do 'em like that though. This was my go-to laundromat when I lived here summer '19. It's so peaceful that I would just sit here and wait. Chat in spanish with whoever is sitting and waiting. Highly recommended. I really hope this business keeps thriving and doesn't get hit shadily by the effects of gentrification popping up in the community.

I don't know if they used extra high heat or left the clothes in the dryer too long or what, but all I know is that suddenly a ton of my clothes don't fit me. The man who runs the laundromat is about 75-80 years old and SHOULD NOT be working! I feel really bad for him because he can barely walk, let along drag my bags of laundry and pick them up and put them on a scale. I am scared that the next time I bring my laundry in and he gets up, he could have a heart attack and die. He speaks NO english and only points to the "regular" or "deluxe" options on a hand written sign. There is no opportunity to ask any questions. In fact, I have never even been able to ask when it will be ready for pickup! (luckily it is always ready the next day). The laundry is also not sorted or folded properly. Socks are paired with wrong mates! He is also a little strange. He has really long dirty fingernails and fondles the laundry bag when you pick it up! Overall, this place is not the best option. My clothes always come back clean and in good condition and its inexpensive...so I will continue to give them my business until a better option comes along!
