I am a relatively new member of the LA Fitness Fort Myers FL Gym and have been happy with my…read moreexperience (especially with my personal trainer Morgan) up until my recent billing dispute with their Club. My complaint revolves around my credit request for a mistake their Fort Myers FL office made in billing me for a personal training charge ($260) while my account was on summer pause. I put my membership on pause effective in May until my planned return to mid-October. I called their office manager (Connor) to request a credit on that $260 training charge explaining obviously I could not have personal training while my membership was on pause. He informed me that LA Fitness does not give credit regardless of the circumstances. When I explained that it would have been impossible for me to get training while my account was on pause, he acknowledged my logic was correct but reiterated that he was not allowed to correct the mistake. I also contacted their corporate customer services department to see if they would resolve this matter. But they too said they would not issue a credit. Logically it does not seem to be good business practice and certainly not good customer service and just further reinforces the negative impression people have in general about the fitness business. I have since cancelled my membership and am pursuing all efforts to get my bill corrected.

Two stars for the location, the physical beauty of the studio, and the great set up they have…read more Unfortunately the owner here is simply just not welcoming. I went in for an intro class and had a lovely and sweet instructor who really got me excited about IM:X! While I'm used to Lagree, not this version of a workout, I found this to be the only thing near my parents house when I have to be down here a few times a month, so I explored it. I even went back a second time for the intro (at the companies request) to bring a friend (which as a business owner-- is a huge plus to have a non-confirmed client bring another person in). However, upon my second visit the owner was the instructor and it was nightmarish. She was unwelcoming upon us entering and once we got into class it was way worse. It started with her asking us our names and then blurting out "I'll never remember that.....especially a name like THAT" when referring to my friend's non-traditional non-American name. Throughout the class she made us uncomfortable by complaining about her daughter, the temp of the room, and the music. She ended up cutting off the music so it was just silence and her voice, which was odd. While doing the workout we let her know of some limitations and she said "what do you people do outside of here in your real lives?"... as if our minor limitations were not normal. It was not only uncomfortable but oddly mean spirited. At the end of it all we were ready to bolt and leave based on this experience, with me profusely apologizing to my friend for bringing her and exposing her to such negative, unwelcoming energy. It was nothing like my first time there. As we finished up the owner said "I don't try to sell anyone so if it's for you it's for you, thanks buh bye" versus even proving info or asking for feedback. Since the owner made it so odd, we won't be returning and instead bought a Lagree Miniformer to work out on versus paying someone to tell us they'll consistently forget our names and that our limitations are "weird".
