This was a really fun toy store. It was still fun to look around and see some of the toys I had (play mobile) as a child and the toys my kids had. It also interesting to see how toys evolve over the years. It's a toy store, an upscale toy store at that. They had very nice kites, a nice selection for young and old. They had model cars (snap) for younger kids. They had a lot of STEM sets for girls and boys. There were circuit boards (snap), robot kits, chalk kits, etc. They had a huge selection of games. I just purchased toys from there since my daughter had found some items she had liked and didn't want to disappoint her. The variety of toys are nice, but we were never once asked if we needed help. There was also an item priced for $6, and the same price for $5. I was going to purchase 2. The lady behind the counter was the owner and extremely unfriendly. She was going to charge us $6 each and said there was a price increase. We mentioned it was poor business practice and would have been considered false advertisement. She mentioned she knew there were different prices marked on the items. With disdain she sells it to us for $5 each, but while making ugly faces about us to her employees. Terrible her employees will think that type of behavior is acceptable. Overall, poor customer service, and would have expected more from the owner. The product is fine, albeit slightly overpriced. The service, particularly the ownership, is inappropriate. Rudest coldest woman in New Bern works here. Much better places to be. It's not about any more than being a decent human being. She 'snapped' like a dragon, yelling at me in my wheelchair and interrupted me, rather than wait 2 minutes and politely ask me to scoot my chair out of the way. You can say excuse me. You can talk to people with an ounce of empathy and compassion. OR you can SNAP like a DRAGON because you'd rather others suffer along with you. Seriously, never had a complaint or confrontation with ANYONE ELSE like this. Others who live and work along the property have been very kind and helpful to me. The city official informed me I could conduct myself anywhere downtown. I felt verbally assaulted. That's NEVER ok. And I don't complain about much. See my reviews elsewhere. If you don't deserve it, if you're not rude and unkind, or neglecting your customers, you get a good review from me. No excuses or exception. Don't come at someone hot. Be a decent human, and that's exactly what you can expect in return, at least from me, because it's all about your attitude and empathy, or lack thereof. read more

Snap Dragon is one of my favorite stores in downtown New Bern. They have a wonderful selection of toys and a helpful staff. Snap Dragon is especially helpful when I'm frantically shopping for a Birthday gift (with my 4 year old daughter) moments before the party starts. Gift wrapping is cute. Book selection is vast.
