Very unprofessional. I would recommend Ann Lynn's in New Bern, Jaq Jill Boutique, and Vash Ti, but definitely not Peacock's Plume. I placed an item on hold here one morning. They asked for my name and number. I went back later in the day only to be told that they had sold the item because they "couldn't hold it during a sale". Wow, really? You couldn't have told me that? You had my NAME and NUMBER. All it took was a phone call with "hey, I made a mistake, we can't hold it, please come get it now." Such a bunch of stuck up people. Never going here again. Next time I want these brands, I'm going to Monkees of Greenville. I've alerted many friends about this incident and we take our business elsewhere now. This is probably the most high end store in historic new bern. I was not sure what to expect walking in, but as a savvy shopper I always make a bee line to the sale rack. They were having a sale of 50% off the lowest price on the tag. Even with the discount most of the items were still well over 50 dollars. This is not a consignment store, so you are paying for high quality name brand designers. read more

When I moved to NB finding places to shop for anything special was almost impossible! This little shop is great. The prices are a bit high, but things on sale are reasonable. The girls there are really nice. I feel they understand my plight when it comes to finding something unique and recommend things I would never consider on my own. When I can't find something anywhere else I can usually find it here. read more

Be sure to check receipts and understand return policy!!!only in store credit is allowed! Didn't see this displayed anywhere and only upon returning item a few hours later did I find out. This loyal customer will find elsewhere to shop. read more

Great clothes, but nothing you couldn't find at another boutique with better and more respectful customer service. One salesperson was incredibly rude and condescending on the phone when I called to inquire about a refund I thought I had received a couple weeks prior. If I failed to see a sign that spelled out the return policy indicating only store credit, I can acknowledge that, but I still believe that it is the responsibility of the salesperson to verbally ask whether I am aware of the return policy at the time of purchase. It's the right thing to do. Beyond that, to continue in a condescending manner by telling me in graphic detail the size of the return policy sign ("very large"), its supposed obvious location, and its bold and bright colors, I was clearly being disrespected in a way that no customer ever should be. I expect more, especially from an establishment that seems to tout itself as classy and elegant. I will never return and I wouldn't suggest to anyone else that they visit, lest you find yourself on the receiving end of a salesperson who so clearly finds herself holier than thou. read more
