Sometimes this might mean you have to wait your turn but doing things right the first time is the fastest way in my opinion. If they are helping someone else when you walk in just take the time to look over the inventory as they seem to have new/different fish and items each time I visit. Unlike many other fish places they wont sell you fish unless they know they are healthy. They will quarantine sick or new fish to ensure you get the highest quality fish for your home. If you are looking for someone passionate and knowledgeable about caring for a tank this is the place.

I'd not offer advice on whether or not to visit them, as the tropical fish pond is kind of shallow…read morein Valdosta, so more options, even if not perfect makes the hobby stronger. My experience - I was told by another shop to give them a visit. When I entered the "lobby" was cramped and dark. No one was at the register, and from what I could tell there were three people working in the store, with 6 guests, including myself. 2 of the 3 were engaged with a lady who went on about her fish experiences, and with the rest of us standing around, at no point did the elder male, or the Latino (?) lady attempt to break away from that conversation. The other employee was doing tank servicing, and without that, their inventory does not last (so hats off). I had been standing there for 15-20 minutes before I was told to be patient. Having driven from Live Oak FL to N. Valdosta specifically for fish and aquarium rock, I was being overly patient, because I did not want to waste the trip. Even though I saw active tank or water maintenance, most of the tanks were not well kept. I was there for salt life, hoping for Live Rock, but nothing in their tanks looked appealing, or new tank friendly (durable). There prices, of those I saw, were actually pretty good. During the 30ish minutes I was in there the lady I'm guessing was a regular customer never stopped talking, and the older guy never made eye or vocal contact with anyone else. All customer service was relegated to the lady providing the critical service of tank and wildlife care. I'm a one and done with them, and will invest my time heading to Tallahassee (High Tide) or Gainesville (Aquatropics). Valdosta does have another option, and it's run out of the guys back garage - Imperial Reef. He has a great set up, all be it small, it is well designed (call before you go because he's not yet doing salt water and supplies full time yet. Here's to wishing Exotic Fish the very best, and I hope you break out of the slump, and find a way to be supportive of customers needs.

HuggaMugga's - The bag you get when you purchase something. Super cute!

When I spotted a sign with a paw print in the distance, I made a beeline for it. (Side note: I'm a proud owner of a Belgian Malinois, Boston Terrier/Shih-Tzu, and Calico so I get a little crazy over independently owned pet stores because I love shopping locally when I can.) We didn't get the owner's name, but he was incredibly helpful and talked to us about his own experience with dogs with ACL problems (like our Belgian Malinois) and his future plans with Hugga Mugga's. They've been open for about a month and a half. He even gave us a free sample of joint treats for our pup! After browsing around for a bit we ended up buying a dog toy and a birthday cookie. Hugga Mugga's sells top quality products that you won't find at your local PetSmart or Petco. I'm excited to see the growth of this store and anticipate great things. Definitely a place to stop in if you're a pet owner and happen to be in Thomasville!

What service! Anna Lee, assumedly the owner, was unbelievable from taking pictures and sending them to him in California, to measuring each and every sweater in detail to make sure it fit. She visited with him "mother" and made sure this is what he wants. She even wrapped and packaged it for mailing. Bravo, or maybe arf, arf!
