I had a very upsetting experience at the Valdosta PetSmart grooming salon. After Rosie's grooming with Caitlin H, I found two wounds on her body that she did not have before. Caitlin claimed it was a tick bite and that she didn't trim Rosie's neck or legs, but that was not true. There were obvious trimmed areas, and the wounds did not look like tick bites at all. Her attitude was also extremely unprofessional. She showed no apology, no concern, and has always acted uninterested and unfriendly whenever I brought my dogs in, even though she was friendly to other customers. I left feeling very uncomfortable and disappointed. I hope management takes this seriously. read more

It is two minutes from US Highway 75, has ample parking, and is close to many eateries, banking, and Home Goods. This PetSmart lacks more refrigerated, diversified dog food, but on the flip side, the store smells and looks good, combined with a delightful staff, which is why I chose it. read more

This rating is for the pet grooming service only. The story goes like this. After dropping off our 10 month golden doodle, we were told to come back in 3 or 4 hours. When I arrived 4 hours later, I was told with a very nasty attitude that, " We told you 3 or 4 hours!" I responded by saying, "It was now over 4 hours." She looked surprised and checked the ledger and told me to return in 30 minutes. Not more than 10 minutes later, I received a call telling me my puppy attacked the groomer. When I returned for the unexpected pick-up, I asked how long was he in the crate.....no answer......i then asked them what tome did you wash him? They told me around 1 PM. The alleged victim also told me he was watching her as she passed him in the crate....I looked at the staff who was there and chuckled, " So you left my puppy in the crate for 4 hiurs and then tried to rush and cut his fur...ok how much do I owe you.?!" They comped the wash and told me I would have to sedate him the next time. I replied, "There won't be a next!" I took my puppy and proceeded to walk out of the store. Before I got to the front of the store, the grooming staff was headed to the parking lot to go home. The time now was 4:40 PM. If you forgot to groom my dog, just say so. Time wasted..4hours and 45 minutes. My recommendation is to use local groomers who take pride in what they do. read more

Everytime I have my dog groomed here they fight me on exactly what I want done. It's usually just cleaning up his paw bands or his little booty hair. They always speak to me like I'm dumb saying they don't know if my dog will let them groom him even though he has never showed any aggression or anxiety. I don't know why they offer some of the services they do if they staff don't think it's suitable for a dog, or maybe they are just lazy I don't know but in my opinion they are overpriced and have horrible attitudes. read more

The Valdosta Pet Smart was awesome!! On our road trip from Ellijay to Orlando, Florida we ran out of our dog food and had to make a stop to the closest Pet Smart and this location was the closest one to us from the highway however it was Sunday and we'd be arriving at 7pm when they close. I called them and They were so kind enough to stay open 5 mins after closing and waited for us. Thanks guys for helping us out, our pups really appreciate it and so do we! We absolutely love PetSmart grooming! We have two full blooded Siberian Huskies (85lbs and 45lbs) and if you are familiar with the breed then you know they shed constantly, are super stubborn and act like they're being tortured when groomed. As a former professional dog bather I know how hard it is mentally and physically to groom dogs, especially larger breeds. We are super picky over protective pet parents who are super selective with who grooms and cares for our fur kids. My family is super grateful for the love and care Jessica A. shows our dogs every time we bring them in. I wouldn't bring them anywhere else! read more

My girls Honey Bee and Lady Bug love going to this salon. They drag me back there every time we go! They get a bath and brush and their nails filed and painted. They are always happy when I pick them up and come home and takes nap. They love the employees and the employees love honey bee kisses. Lady bug has anxiety issues but I feel so comfortable knowing she likes going. read more

Staff is wonderful. You can sense their genuine passion for Animals. I come here all the time.

First off, I called to make an appointment at the groomers for my French bulldog and after confirming, about an hour later I received an email saying my appointment was canceled. My appointment was supposed to be at 2pm the next day but when I called the day of to see why they canceled, they said it was for a different day and that's why it was canceled. Made no sense to me...but I scheduled again for that day and took my dog in. When I scheduled I was told that it would be an express service due to the breed of my dog. I asked what that service entails and I was told that nails and ears would be included along with the bath and brush. So when I come to pick my dog up after she was done, she was still wet (which is fine if they don't blow dry for the express service) but her ears were not clean and she certainly was NOT brushed! I had to brush her when I got home and TONS of hair was brushed out by me, this should not have been the case had she been brushed at her appointment for her service that was called "bath and BRUSH"! I paid an extra fee of $15 on top of the regular price for this "express service" and my dog didn't even get a full cleaning. I have taken her to local groomers who charge half the price and will do all the things a grooming entails! My pup didn't even get a bandana!! I 1000% will not be using PetSmart grooming again. read more

How is it that the biggest pet store in America can't keep crickets stocked? I call here weekly and they always tell me they believe they have them and that they will check to make sure. When they return to the phone they confirm that they are out yet again. I have to drive nearly an hour away to a small, locally owned pet store that always has crickets in stock. read more

Usually they have excellent service. Yesterday while my mother was paying for our dog to get groomed, she mentioned to the cashier that she usually gets a discount for seniors and/or military. The new cashier stated that they did not do discounts, however after speaking to the manager she found out that you all do on Tuesdays. After ringing up my mother the cashier made a smart comment..."it's only $7.00 dollars"....first of all that comment was not necessary, second of all just know and do your job. I don't care if it was $1.00...if it's your job to know discounts and ring people up properly, then do that. If you don't know how to work the register without having a smart mouth then customer service is not your thing and the manager needs to move you or fire you. Please check your workers attitudes...it's a pet store for Gods sake...it shouldn't be hard to have a good attitude there. Thank you and God Bless...please do better. read more

Even though this is a chain pet store, the staff are very friendly. They have everything you could possibly want for your pet. I like that they not only service cats and dogs but have birds, fish and reptiles. I highly recommend this store for all of your pets needs. read more

The prices are a little high. But they offer a great service by letting outside pet adoption agencies come into the store and adopt pets.

Very disappointed. Went in on a busy Saturday, and the manager Kathy was too busy cutting up with her staff to actually check us out. It took 20 minutes and we were the only one in line. Then, she gave us the wrong information about their refund policy. Of course, when we returned the next day, she was nasty and refused to help or give us a refund. Unless you have no other choice, go somewhere else. Everything is cheaper at even Publix. Clearly, the staff likes working there and I have always had a good experience before- but the level of staff has gone down and if Kathy is an indicator of management- steer clear! read more

Called to find out about prices after going on line. I tried to set up a simple clipping and ear cleaning for our dog. I found on the PetSmart site listed cost for those two services is only $14 and includes breath freshening and a cologne spritz. The store kept pushing me to get a $37 full grooming package. I kept repeating we only needed those two things done for our dog but they would not listen. Finally I asked what is the cheapest thing they offer and the lady said the grooming for $26. Untrue! Also, for anyone who is military or retired military I would NOT purchase any dog food items from here. A price comparison I made has wet can foods at the commisary costing as low as .30c a can! At this store you are going to be paying ALOT more than that! Also, a collar and leash will run you a minimum of $30 for a small dog! The prices are really way too high. read more
