Outstanding service, Mahar and his team went above and beyond at every step of the way in assisting me with my repairs. I was rear-ended at a red light, and even though at first the other person wanted to go around insurance, Mahar was quick to tell me that the price would most likely be above what anyone would want to pay out of pocket. He offered to speak to the other party himself to explain everything, which I greatly appreciated. He even assisted me with handling the report to the insurance company, letting me know about everything I should tell them, which was a great help with my first accident. When my availability didn't line up with when the repairs were complete, Mahar still offered to stay beyond the shop's closing time for me to pick up the car. And even when that didn't work, he was incredibly gracious enough to arrange for a different time. Upon picking up my car, I honestly couldn't even tell I was in an accident in the first place which was amazing. An accident left some minor scratches on the back right end of my car. It hadn't been damaged before and was still fairly new, so I wanted to get it fixed properly. The party at fault and I agreed to handle the repair privately to avoid the hassle of insurance. While searching Yelp, I used Yelp's project feature -- which automatically sent my inquiry to several local body shops -- and that's how I discovered SMT. I chatted with Maher, who quoted me around $1,000. He was completely transparent, explaining what the pricing meant and what "by-the-book" repairs should include. Even more impressive, he told me I could reach out anytime for advice on other quotes, even if I didn't choose his shop -- and he genuinely meant it. I received quotes ranging from $500 to $1,600. The cheaper ones would have fixed it but not properly, while the higher ones followed correct repair procedures. I sent all these quotes to Maher for his input & his honesty and insight helped me a lot. It came down to SMT and another highly rated shop. Despite being more expensive($1.6k) I almost chose that shop since they had someone leave a positive review with photos of the same exact car model and color -- but ultimately, I trusted SMT more because of Maher's transparency. I dropped my car off on Monday and had it back by Thursday afternoon. The repair was flawless -- it looks like nothing ever happened. SMT even cleaned and detailed my car before pickup. Highly recommend SMT if you want fair pricing, honesty, and great work.
