CONTAMINATED SMOOTHIES!!! This morning on Tuesday, April 7th, I come in between 735a-755a and ordered the strawberry gladiator with pineapples and sweet strawberries. As I'm driving home and drinking my smoothie I continue to bit down on something hard, initially Im thinking its the fruit- but I keep biting down on a new pieces with each sip- I finally begin to spit out what are clearly small pieces of plastic all in my drink!!!!! Its not even 8a and traffic in this part of town is crazy, I immediately call the establishment and speak to the manager, letting her know to please check the inventory- check the sweet strawberries, pineapples, or the strawberry gladiator mix because there's multiple pieces of plastic contaminated in my drink- the manager says- "what youre tasting is the core of the pineapple"! I tell her Im looking at the plastic in my hand right now!! You think I dont know the difference between pineapple and plastic! She tells me she's looking at the batch now and doesnt see anything. Thats ridiculous! Even if you dont see anything at this very moment- doesnt mean there's not an issue somewhere. Something similar, but very minor happened about a month ago, with this same manager. I come to the drive through after my workout, its like 635a- the manager says thru the speaker "were closed- we open at 7a". I tell her "okay, please correct google- google says you guys open at 630a". The manager says "no, it doesnt say that"! Girl, I had my phone right in my hand, with google dead in front of me , clearly stating the store was open at 630. This past incident I really dont care about because I had time. The reason Im bringing this past situation up again- is because it was this same manager- however, this time more severe as you are currently selling people contaminated drinks filled with small pieces of plastic immersed in the smoothie mix- and I'm tell you there's an issue with the food and u tell me I'm not seeing what i see! WHY ARE YOU NOT LISTENING TO CUSTOMER WHEN THEY TELL YOU SOMETHING? Do you think I have time to call you at 745a in the morning to tell you a lie????????? I ordered three Açaí bowls. Two out of three were incorrect and no spoons were given. I went back through the drive thru to let them know my order was incorrect. Took him forever to answer me at the drive thru. He then answers. Listens to what I have to say, no response. I sit there saying helllloooo, helllooooo! Finally, he responds and told me to pull up to the window. One bowl had no granola so the manager added the granola on top of the açaí bowl which is no problem. The other had granola and wasn't suppose to due to my daughter's allergies. The manager told me he remade the Açaí bowl. We get home I give the açaí bowl to my daughter and she said, this has granola. My daughter is allergic to nuts and seeds. The granola smoothie king uses has seeds. I called the manager and explained the issue. He then said, I'm sorry I tried to clean all the granola off of the fruit! What!? You told me you remade it. I then explained to him people have food allergies and how important it is to remake and not clean off the fruit. He says,he refunded my money on the one bowl and it will take a couple of days to receive the refund. That was after I asked what he planned to do to take care of the issue. We will not be back. Definitely clean, nice staff. Smoothies are ok. The new smoothie bowls are pretty good but took off stars due to value. For a $10 bowl, it should definitely be full. Tried it twice and the 2nd time (see picture) we had much less in our bowls. We are accustomed to smoothie places, including Jamba, filling their bowls to get value. I still think you all should try it though as the new bowls are definitely pretty good. read more
