So my friend asks me if I've ever had Smoothie King I said nooo?? The idea of a fruit smoothie always sounded good but has never ever shown any sudden interest to me. Well this may of changed this concept. I just never have thought about it? So my friend placed the order and I went to pick up on the way to her house. She ordered 2 Pineapple Banana Smoothies? This place is abusive to their student workers, I am one Proud Dad, my daughter (among others) just quit the smoothie king Plainfield Il store at 59 and 135th. the owner should be ASHAMED of how they treat young people! workers are told to use moldy fruit. Enjoy! Proud Dad Edit: Forgot to mention making a student pay 12 bucks for a shirt to work in and not allowing minor workers a break. The issue is not the kids working there the issue is a Management staff/owner that cares more about making 8.55 profit on $ .75 worth of product and not wanting to fully staff cause it cuts into the bottom line. My daughter has been getting foul texts from "management" since she quit. Had you shown concern before she would not have quit, so dont get rude now. You are just upset that she stood up for herself. Here's the thing---for online pickup orders, workers shouldn't make the order right away...you need to pay attention to when the customer is picking up the order. I arrived right before 3:35 today for a3:40 pick up and the bowl was already made...this melted before I could even enjoy it. I got home 3 minutes away and it was a soupy mess. Sucks when you've spent $12 and it isn't what you paid for. Finally the workers are bored and when an order comes in they just make it and they aren't considering the timing. read more

I understand that things have changed because of a Covid19 but I was in last week at 4:40 and they took my order and everything was fine. My wife came in around the same time today and the kids that worked there said they cannot take her order anymore because it was past the time. This is unacceptable! She drove 15 mins to get there and if you are there before the deadline of 5pm and other people were in they should have had no problem to take the order as they did mine without a problem. The problem is that it's run by kids and they wanted to leave. What a waste of a 15 min drive. Would love to speak to a manager who is past the age of 18. read more

I would give a 0 if I could. I worked here not too long ago and it was the worst job experience of my life. The management is HORRIBLE. Shame on them all. I was left alone multiple times my entire shift I was doing a 3-4 person job completely alone. I had angry customers every day yelling at me for going to slow because I was left alone. I'm disabled and I never once got a break never once got to sit down because we were so busy all the time and I was always alone or working only with one other person. I went home crying in pain every night. I cannot express how awful this company is and the management. NEVER work here EVER you will regret it you will want to quit every day you're there. This company cares way more about a few bucks than their employees. On top of all this all of their paper work never worked so I didn't get paid till 3 weeks working there along with other employees. I would also like to mention how you should never go there and waste your money on their overpriced drinks. The fruit always had flies and gnats flying around them and on them. The blenders were poorly washed in between each smoothie. And the smoothies were about 80% ice. You're way better making your own smoothie at home than supporting this horrible company and store. Never go there never work there. Shame on the management. Working 8 hours with no break is illegal. I hate this company and everyone else should too. Do not give them your money. read more

bad experience at the store today. Unfortunately I had to go inside to order because I needed to tell them that their quality has suffered greatly. I asked the man at the order counter to ensure the ingredients were correct and mixed well. He was helpful and pleasant. My reading glasses were fogging up so I dropped my mask just below my nose in order to complete the credit card and tip. The Nazi girl ordered me to fit my mask correctly. I responded in a knee jerk reaction and told them to cancel my order. I told them they just lost a customer. It's unfortunate for them and me. I've ordered about six smoothies per week during the past three months. Now I'll need to move on to something else. My advice to smoothie king would be two things. First, do something to solve your revolving door employee problems. I've ordered 70 times and service is so cold. Second, please encourage the coworkers to try to show a better, more positive attitude toward the customer. If they can't, then maybe they should work at something that doesn't involve customer contact. read more
