This location was a bit hard to find at first because it is tucked into a small corner in the middle of the shopping center. Older building it appears, it's a very narrow interior. It was hopping and full of staff and patrons. The check out counter is at the far end, so you have to squeeze by folks standing between the counter and the wall, it's a narrow passageway. I visited this place to try açaí bowls and was pretty excited as I pride myself as a connoisseur. When ordering I was informed that I couldn't add almond butter even tho they had it. I explained that it was similar to peanut butter, but they insisted it was different "is not the same" As someone who frequently orders açaí bowls, I was taken aback. The açaí tasted good, though it was made from pre-frozen açaí. I was able to buy a side and add it on top. I'm not sure why they couldn't just do that. Odd interaction. read more

SK has plenty of different choices organized in different categories for whatever you're into (Get Energy, Shape Up, Indulge, Snack Right, Etc) You can then add an "enchancer" which can be any number of things. I enjoyed visiting this place every once in a while (when I used to live in Midland). It seemed they always had some new stuff (smoothies including veggies, Greek yogurt smoothies, acai flavor, etc) that I couldn't wait to try. And there were always the "classic" smoothies (strawberry, banana, etc). I love the smoothies, as well as the selection of cookies, healthy snacks, & breads (zucchini, pumpkin, banana nut, I think). The only thing that didn't make sense to me was the infrastructure. It seemed you would place your order at the front, then move to pay at the back. Not a problem if you're the only customer at the time. It does become a problem when there are other customers who need to leave after paying for their order, & you need to move to the back to pay after ordering, so as to make room for even other customers who may be coming in to order behind you. It can get crowded & even a little bit of a claustrophobic nightmare during especially busy times. Also, it doesn't have a (public) restroom. It's in a nice & classy shopping center on the northeast corner of the Wadley & Garfield intersection. It's an exciting location, & I still enjoy the smoothies. When taking road trips, I used to enjoy stopping here before leaving Midland, so I could have a healthy snack &/or drink for the road! read more

Smoothie King has been in Midland for as long as I remember. I first remembered them running a smoothie trailer on certain days outside San Jacinto in 2004 selling Caribbean Ways. The past two times I've visited the store the smoothies and staff were amazing. One of the head people I'm sure has never met a stranger. I always get a classic Caribbean Way but they have many different smoothies. They also have many different add-ins like protein or energy.
