Love this franchise location! The lines are long, but they move fast! This team works well together and all my orders are ready to go at the window for pickup. I just tried their new egg avocado toast and protein yogurt bowl. The flavors are good but I would add more salt to the toast and less cocoa nibs in the yogurt. I mainly do drive through, but as the door is not automatic and the handicap parking is shared with the lot so I avoid going in when driving is easier. Absolutely blown away by this location! We walked in a little after they opened and were immediately greeted. There were two employees visible, not sure if there was someone else in the back. These two looked fairly young, but wow were they efficient. What a well oiled machine! They took our order and finished making 2 smoothies in under 3 minutes!!! And within that time frame they were raving about a new girl that was has been working there for only 2 weeks and was inquisitive about being just as efficient as they were. We love young hard workers. This attitude will get you far in life. It's absolutely refreshing to see, hear, and know there is hope for the future. And I would like to point out that the bad reviews here are from customers who came in close to closing... Maybe just chill at home and go the next day? Or leave a generous tip if you're going to be THAT customer. I promise you you won't die if you don't get a smoothie just before 9pm. Just follow Gremlin rules and don't partake of smoothies after 8:30pm or else you'll be possessed to leave a bad review for your poor timing. read more

Non-existent service and management appears to be lacking ... avoid this place and try elsewhere. We live close to the valley, so I'm pretty sure the newly opened Tropical Smoothie Cafe will be getting our future business. Friday, 12/8, 8:45 AM ... sat in drive thru for three to five minutes before hearing anything on voice box. Employee says she needs a minute. Wait three more minutes (then left) ... employee never come back up to take order. Monday, 12/11, 8:45 AM ... sat in drive thru for two minutes, with no employee interaction. Drive to window, but lights are off and no employees present. It's like a mystery wheel of outcomes when going to this location. Month ago, my wife went to order an acai smoothie bowl 15 minutes before closing ... employee told her they were done making those for the day. Just seems like the workers do what they choose / want to do rather than what they are being paid to do. Would give this place ZERO stars if it was an option. read more

This is my third time disappointed with the service here. The first time I got out of line after waiting 15 minutes for someone to take my order. I proceeded to go inside and wait another 15 mins for my smoothie and it was not busy. I now am coming back my third time and only one person is working both the drive through and the inside cashier AND making smoothies... I never make reviews but this is more of a tip. Well usually the smoothies there are good.. but a message for the young man on the Sunday shift 12.13.20 at 10:30... blend the smoothies all the way please. I'm not mad or anything just pretty disappointed. I wasn't given a receipt and paid cash for it but I got a peanut power plus smoothie and added chocolate & strawberry to it. That's my favorite smoothie. Unfortunately I threw it away. I couldn't drink it. There were small ice chucks and chunks of chocolate in it. Typically I don't complain but that was an unbearable taste.. I'll come back, I've learned my lesson to make sure it is blended well next time read more

Smoothie was great. Service was not. I walked in at 8:30pm... 30min before close. A young tall blonde gal looked annoyed when she saw me come in. She seemed to be actively stocking up for the next day and I was interrupting that. I felt like my presence was an inconvenience to her. No hello. No acknowledgment, just walked up to the register and looked at me. After taking my order she went ahead and made it. And another young gal who was mopping poured it and handed it to me. Then I was out the door. I've been to other smoothie kings and I know this isn't the type of service expected by the franchisee. Perhaps she was having a bad day... had to get somewhere right at 9pm at close, who knows. Just felt uncomfortable and like I was inconveniencing her. Again great smoothie though. read more

A quick trip to the local smoothie king took longer than going to an actual smoothie bowl place. They did offer us a pup cup which was very nice but they need to hurry it up. We arrived at 8:30pm and the front door was locked. The signage indicated the store closes at 9pm with no indication that they were closing early on the inside. The staff looked us in the eyes and did not come to let us know they were closed. We decided to try the drive through, where we were able to order. The menu was poorly lit and difficult to see. Very disappointed in my service today. When I walked in, the two teenage girls were bad mouthing a customer who had come through the drive-through. Then, the girl that took my order was clearly not interested in answering any questions, not to mention she gave me wrong information that another girl corrected. Finally, I ordered 32 ounce. I received a 20 ounce, so I questioned and the girl came over and dumped my 20 ounce into a 32 ounce and added a little more from the blender but it was not full. Zero customer service. read more

Super convenient location and drive thru is quick. They used to have all advertised products available and had great customer service. The last three times (in a row) we went there, they were out of multiple items. The smoothies are not mixed well the last few times, they come out chunky. We asked the workers when items might come back in stock, if ever. They had no idea. Zero communication from the manager to employees. Extremely disappointed in my visit here. I have been to many other locations in the St. Louis area that have been great. I pulled up the drive thru - and ordered one 20 oz smoothie. When I got the window to pay - I waited 5 minutes and the staff came to the window with a smoothie that wasn't mine. When I told her what I had ordered - she began to jokingly yell at her coworker to make my smoothie. Another few minutes passed and another person came back to the window asking what I had gotten. I repeated my order and after asking everyone - realized they still hadn't made it. Another 5 minutes passed and they asked me to pull up and park and they would bring it out. After waiting another 10 minutes, someone brought out my smoothie and verbatim said 'Sorry, we forgot about you'. It was an incredibly unprofessional experience from the beginning. When I relayed the story to a friend who lives near this location - she shared similar past experiences that had been had and commented on the lack of management and professionalism. Had an awful experience on 2/29/20. Ordered 2 smoothies. After 25 minutes of waiting, received only 1. When I asked where the other one was, no one knew. The staff was in disarray. Debbie H. was so rude & disrespectful today I'll never patronize Store #1175 Ellisville, MO again. Understandably, the drive-thru was very busy so I went inside to place my order. I understand Fridays are usually busy due to the $5 smoothie offer. I ordered 2 smoothies in plastic cups; I asked the employee twice to be sure they were in plastic & he reassured me that's what I'd receive. I waited a bit & noticed there was 1 smoothie(in a foam cup) on the counter that had sat for a while. In the meantime, several other customers picked up their orders from that same area. A couple of employees had called out the flavor(it was 1 I'd ordered) but I didn't think it was part of my order because; 1.) It was in foam, not plastic as I'd requested & 2.) I'd ordered 2 smoothies. Finally, when I was the only customer inside the location, I asked an employee if it was part of my order & mentioned that I didn't think it was because I'd requested plastic & that I'd ordered 2 smoothies. She said it indeed was mine. I told her I didn't want it because it had sat on the counter too long & wasn't in the correct cup. That's when I had the misfortune to encounter Debbie H. She insisted I take the old smoothie, it hadn't sat too long in her opinion. When I refused she got highly upset & raised her voice at me. I told her I thought it had sat too long & besides that, it was in the incorrect cup. It didn't matter to her, she told me to, "Get out, this is my place!" She repeatedly yelled at me to get out of her place, as if I should just leave without what I'd already paid for! I told her I'd gladly leave AFTER I received my smoothies(she didn't ask if I'd like my money back). I'm unaccustomed to being spoken to in such a rude & disrespectful manner! I thought about asking for my money back but she was so upset, rude, & disrespectful that I thought better of it. She seemed to be showing off for her young audience(there were several seemingly high school-age employees working with her). I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or if the stress of being busy made her snap, but there is no excuse for her behavior. If she is a supervisor or owner she is a poor example of customer service for her employees. I don't think it was asking too much to ask to receive what I ordered & good customer service. I will NOT be returning to this location as this is the 2nd time I have been treated disrespectfully at store #1175. I will take my business to another Smoothie King or stop patronizing them 100%. There are many other places to buy smoothies. I now understand why there are so many negative reviews for store #1175.
