I ordered a Slim N'Trim protein shake with added strawberries and waited for it to be prepared. As soon as I walked out, I realized that the smoothie was made with banana. It did not state that there was banana on the menu. It is unfortunate and I wish that the menu had accurately listed the ingredients in the smoothie. Coco Colado Bowl, 10/10 : The BEST acai bowl I've ever had -- beats ones from Puerto Rico. Ate it 1-2 per day. The base is nice and thick, and smooth. The fruits are sweet and fresh and the granola is super good! I don't even like honey but for some reason it tasted super good and they were generous with it. I'd eat this everyday if I was walking distance. It does get very busy in there but the line rushes out quickly. read more

Smoothie King was an unfortunate let down. I grew up in the age of Jamba Juice so having a smoothie spot in the Loop was exciting. The actual location is small and set up for to-go orders which makes sense for the area. When I visited it was within an hour or two of them opening and the solo worker was already overwhelmed with orders. I didn't mind the wait because it wasn't their fault they were the only person working. Where Smoothie King lost stars was the quality of the smoothie vs the price. I ordered one of the protein smoothies, I believe it was a berry based smoothie. From the moment I got the smoothie it was a pale color that didn't resemble the previous smoothie I ordered which had a tint of the fruit color that was in it (I.e strawberry would have a reddish tint). I was reassured that this was the correct smoothie so I left. I was only able to take a few sips before the protein powder was too overwhelming. I would rank this smoothie as one of the worst that I've had to date. It tasted like a milky protein shake with no fruit to mask the protein taste. I wasn't able to finish a 1/4 of the drink before I had to take my loss and threw it away. I was able to taste my husband's non-protein smoothie and it wasn't bad. I learned that you should only stick to the fruit only based smoothies from this location. I will most likely visit again but now I know which smoothie to get. A great smoothie place! I had their island impact (pineapple, mango, etc.) and I loved it! It had no added sugar but the drink was still sweet and flavorful! You're able to add supplements too like protein, fiber, energy, etc. I wouldn't recommend their added "energy" supplement because I don't think it works. The service was good. The server was really nice and helpful. The drinks were made quickly as well. The ambiance is nothing special. There's no sitting. It's more a place to grab a refreshing and healthy drink and head out. Definitely recommend! read more

Service isn't fast, might not be friendly, but is always (as many times as I have been here) committed to making sure your smoothie is on point. Ambiance is lacking as there is very little space to stand around and wait for your order, the bathrooms are likely to be gross due to the foot traffic, and the door is janky than a mf! Fri 9/19: 12:45 pm. This location is an absolute dumpster fire. I watched THREE customers leave without their orders because it took the staff so long to make the orders. One guy ordered loaded toast that never even got made. The guy at the counter says, "my bad." After he realized he never put the bread in the toaster. Then I stood there for 10 minutes AFTER I placed my order before the staff had to ask me and 2 other people what we ordered because no one realized they ran out of printer paper and the orders never printed. So they forgot. And at no point did anyone move with any sense of urgency. There was no, "oh crap we need to move fast to fix this." And the manager just walked out in the middle of this and left 2 incompetent staffers to muddle around like there wasn't a store full of customers. Whoever own this franchise needs to fire this entire staff or have the franchise stripped away from them. Absolutely garbage service. If I could give it zero stars I would. read more

Angel, Ari and Meka are rockstars (give them a raise immediately) their customer service was awesome and welcoming- very friendly and seem to enjoy their job whomever hired them you did a great job. The location in Tinley Park Illinois..is the worst out of all the locations I have been too. The smoothie bowl are always short..hardly anything in the bowl, so I visited other locations to see if that is the amount used at other locations, but no..every other location gives u the respectable amount considering the price, I hav complained several times to no avail. I visited the Smoothie King in Chicago Heights and the service was not pleasant. Additionally I'm bothered by the fact that the server wore no gloves, so he was handling food at the same time he was handling money. To add to my frustrations, I told the server that I wanted a smoothie bowl and asked if I could get the ingredients that I saw listed for a smoothie. It appears he misunderstood my order and it was apparent that he had no customer service training, as he did not want to correct the matter without having me drive back around to get behind a long line of cars.
