While the toppings were plentiful, many of them , including the soy-marinated egg, were settled at the bottom of the bowl, so we found ourselves fishing through the broth to find them. The egg was fully cooked rather than the softer, jammy style often associated with ramen. The broth leaned more creamy and soy-forward than the pork-based tonkotsu flavor I'm used to, and the chashu pork belly was quite firm instead of tender. Izumi is a very small cozy space with limited seating, and during our lunch there was a steady stream of takeout orders. At least 30 people came in to pick up food while we were there. So it's clearly a popular spot. Based on my experience with the ramen, it didn't quite match what I personally look for, but I'd be open to trying it again in the future, as others clearly enjoy it.

She just shrugged her shoulders. So I decided not to get it...it would've been wrong anyway. I got the bill for $10, the menu says 1/2 order is $9...so I made her go get a menu and show her. Second time this has happened. Later Fernando asked me to pre-pay my bill to close out the register. Then another server came by and asked to take my plate away...I said "I'm not quite finished" (never asked if I wanted a to go box) she pulled out her iPhone and showed me that it was 10:01. I paid...I left my military discount card on the plate under broccoli and cheese sauce. 15% off isn't worth being treated like shit!
