The staff are so friendly and the quality of the drinks are on point. This is a cozy little café with large windows for natural light and exposed brick walls. Great vibe and one of Marion's hidden treasures. I love the seasonal flavors to include the honey lavender! If you're unsure of a drink or flavor, be sure to ask the barista. I was absolutely blown away by my experience here! Crown brew coffee does not feel like it should be in southern Illinois, but in a trendy neighborhood in a huge city somewhere. They have done such a great job with curating the coffee, menu, and the space itself! What I ordered: I got an oat milk latte and the classic avocado toast. The latte was great and the avocado toast was one of the best I've ever had. This is coming from a self-appointed avo toast connoisseur. On yet another road trip, have road tripped a lot of this country, stopping for coffee everywhere and this is one of the best. 1st time we stopped in we were fortunate that it was not too crowded so got the pleasure of nice conversation with cashier/barista, Morgan. She made the coffee quickly with care & it was warm and delicious. Stopped back in after breakfast and met with a long line so my husband was slightly disappointed in the length of time it took to get his espresso. Lovely little coffee shop here in Marion. Josh and Jared (the owners) outdid themselves with the café, it is so beautiful. They have an amazing eye for design which makes the coffeehouse experience 10 times better. All of their barista's have been super nice and they are well trained in making the Coffee just right! Whenever they have food available it is always mouthwatering to think about. Each season they come out with a new type of toast as well as some type of tasty side item. Their pastries are one of my favorites especially the pop tarts. All the food is made in house so it's always fresh!! Great local coffee joint in Marion, IL! They recently moved to their new location in downtown Marion, and they are no longer in Carterville. I can see the co-owners take great pride in delivering quality drinks and food. If you're getting a pour over, I highly recommend Ethiopian! Their syrups are made in house. Beans are fair trade. The classic avocado toast was delicious and savory. The GOAT avocado toast had good flavors, but more on the sweeter side. Great interior design and plenty of seating area to meet up with your friends. If you plan on being a frequent, make sure you sign up with their rewards program via phone number (every five drinks you buy, the next drink is $1 off). Holy cutest freaking coffee shop ever - this place is every vibe I was searching for. We legit drove into this town for this coffee shop and I recommend that everyone do so. The decor is gorgeous and the company was even better. The beautiful people working were super friendly and helpful. We walked in and I saw they have sugar free dark chocolate so of course I got an iced latte with oat milk and added after caramel as well (sf dark turtle iced latte). SO GOOD. My boyfriend being the 28 year old child he is got a hot chocolate but I ate my words cause DAMNNNN is was good. :) Also, there pastries looked amazing - there seemed to be a homemade poptart that I couldn't eat cause I ate prior... but I ate it with my eyes. Granted, there don't seem to be an abundance of coffee shops in the area, but there really don't need to be. Only in town (well, about 10 miles out) for a couple days, but went both mornings. I'm a simple guy, red eye, black. But my companion got a "Vampire Weekend" (horchata) and the obligatory pumpkin, which though not a house-made syrup tastes just like pumpkin pie. The toasts were a solid bite, but having taken them to go my PBJ was a little too J-ey by the time we got to the park so it was a bit on the messy side... But that's mostly on me for a to-go order. Okay so this place is super neat. First of all, they firms that their coffee for 24 hours to reduce acidity making it better for your teeth/stomach/etc.. This place is the most hip and relaxed environment yet. They have a large couch, many small tables, and a variety of vintage chairs. They have free water, which is nice for long chats over coffee. I had the cold brew black and it was so smooth and rich. Literally, this coffee was amazing. The coolest part? They are connected to a art gallery/store that is composed of LOCAL artists. This is literally the cutest place! They have vintage clothing, handmade jewelry, and paintings. I know for sure they take cards and cash at both places! Experienced CBC this morning and the two ladies working there were lovely, and engaging. The atmosphere is exactly what I expect an Indie Coffee Shop to be---warm, rustic, and inviting. I sampled the cold brew and was happy to see that they offered Stevia---a marque of thoughtful shop (in my opinion). Even the bathroom was outfitted with what looked like vintage or hand-made wallpaper--lots of nice touches and details.
