The movers were late the day of my move. Extremely unprofessional staff. The owner had no communucation skills.

Never had a worse experience. After driving three days, we show up to our new home in Omaha. The movers were over a half hour late. Show up with absolutely no equipment. Leave their car running out front of my house, which I later found out had two kids sitting in it in the 96 degree heat. The movers were supposed to be here for two hours, after 20 minutes I had to ask them to leave. As stated before they brought no equipment. They then tried to move my $2,000 dryer without equipment. During this process they left a scrape from the top of the stairs to the bottom, shoved my dryer into the ceiling above the stairs leaving gouges in the top of my brand new dryer and in my walls. They then dropped the dryer on the floor. At this point, along with the dryer they had damaged my sons bed and dresser. My husband and I had to ask them to leave. The help stated "it is what it is." I contacted "Matt" supposedly the owner of the company. He did not apologize over the phone and offered no help and said "I honestly don't know what to do right now" and promised a call back. Two weeks later now, I have contacted hireahelper which is where we booked them through and they left a message for the owner also. Still no call back as of today. Used these guys to move the contents of a house and storage unit, including a gun safe and a coin-op pool table. It was a full-day move and took 2 trips with the large U-Haul truck. While moving the safe, they dropped it backwards and almost seriously injured the smallest guy behind the 2-wheeler. The movers spent several hours trying to figure out how to move the pool table. For reference, when the pool table was placed in storage, it was done by 2 guys with shoulder straps from Black Belt Movers. Between all of the movers, they couldn't lift it. When they placed it in the truck, they couldn't figure out how to properly disperse the weight in the truck and put both the pool table and gun safe on the passenger side... causing a massive amount of instability while driving. When we arrived at the house they had to call the company owner to move it and the safe into the house, banging into drywall the whole way... Overall, it was a complete mess, but I appreciated the effort put in by the movers, so I gave them each a cash tip... knowing what I knew now I wouldn't have given them a tip. The next day we began unpacking and noticed some nicks and scratches, which wasn't a huge deal other then the scratches on the wall from them dropping boxes of glass and pottery against them. The big issue was the broken 65" Panasonic plasma TV, which they broke and hid by placing in a far corner against a wall and sofa. Upon contacting the company owner, he agreed to take care of it and make it right... which was never done. One day he asked to see the TV, which was fine, but then he randomly showed up with a little girl and I luckily happened to be home. I showed him the TV and he again assured me that it would be taken care of... then he started texting us telling us that I couldn't have been his guys and it must have been my driving. I couldn't have been more appalled, given my history of driving much larger machines and obtaining annual CEVO certification. In the end he round-about offered $35 for the TV, which he also never made good on. I would never recommend using these guys again! read more

These guys, Anthony and Jeremy (aka "Mr. Lifty and Mr. Dolly"), were fantastic! We were moving my Mother-in-law into our house, her old house was multiple levels with 4 flights of stairs, and she had a LOT of items to move. Many of her things were going into our basement, and it was very icy and cold out. They handled it like champs, were quick, effective, organized and patient. They had wonderful attitudes the entire time, had fun and kept her items organized when they brought them into our house! Thanks to them, we got it all finished on time and everyone was happy and smiling by the end of the day! 11/10, would definitely recommend them to anyone!! read more

I had a PODS delivered to Glenwood IA. I needed help with three pieces of furniture and wanted one mover, two hours for $80. I was told they didn't do one mover for $80, at least they couldn't any day that week. I recommend the business owner takes that option off his website if they no longer do that. read more

I have never used movers before, and I was thinking the experience would be nice, easy, and simple. It was the complete opposite. Smooth Movers was supposed to move everything that we had in our garage as well as our house. We had boxed up most of our house as well as everything the garage that could fit in a container was in a container. They wouldn't move anything that was in the garage and they only moved the boxes in our living room and the basement that were in boxes. They didn't bring any tools to take the legs off of the furniture which most movers need to do so that they can move furniture from basements. They were not prepared for the weather as it was cold the day they were moving and they were wearing leggings and a hoddie, which wasn't right for the weather at all. We had let them know about the garage a week in advance and they said they could move everything we had asked for them to move. THEY DIDN'T!!! My husband and I had to load up the rest of the garage into our pod which I think is the stupidest thing. We were paying $300 for their services and they didn't move half of the stuff we asked them to do. The garage had wood for woodworking tools, and tools for automotive repairs... NONE OF IT GOT MOVED!! I'm sorry I'm paying $300 for you to move my garage and a few boxes and you didn't move half of it. Then the following day which was for the finally loading they changed times. They were scheduled for 9:30 AM, they called saying they needed to reschedule because they had a long night the night before. We understood and we allowed the move of time to around 2:30 PM thinking that that will be okay due to the moving not going to take to long. They called around 12:30 PM saying they overbooked.... We were the first ones on their list how could they over book when we were supposed to be the first ones they moved for the day. They said they would like to reschedule again!!! They asked us if we could do Monday! I'm sorry I scheduled for Sunday you said you were good for Sunday I can't take time off of work just to accommodate you overbooking when that is not my fault. I told them this and they were like well we can try to aim to be there around 7 PM... what the hell!!! I am not going to stay up and then miss on sleep when they were supposed to be there at 9:30 AM!!! They lied, and said, " We were originally scheduled for 2:30 pm." This is not what we expected from a company that was supposed to be highly rated. Especially when we have a confirmation email and text showing the date and time for Sunday at 9:30 AM. We had to cancel with them and call our friends and family just to come and help us move furniture and everything else into the PODS when I hired movers to do this!!! I took my friends and family away from their families on a Sunday just because some dumb movers could not get their bookings correct. This also caused my mother to have to take the Monday off of work due to back pain because she helped with moving boxes into the Pod. Now, this really pissed me off, she lost pay for one thing and also she was in so much pain she could barely get out of bed on Monday. read more

The Smooth Moves dream team came to unload our truck on time and were wonderful. They unloaded our 12 foot truck in around 30 minutes. They were friendly and considerate, and put the furniture and boxes exactly where we asked them too. I highly recommend them for your move. read more

Hired these guys last minute. The movers who showed up were early and had a dolly with them. There were two guys who came, one of them was an experienced mover and did the majority of the work. The other guy tried really hard, but the job and the heat were too much for him. By the time they were done, he threw up, and was very politely asking if he could put boxes in the wrong rooms because he was too tired to move them to the correct place after putting them in the wrong room. About three hours into loading we called the company and spoke to the owner, hoping he would send another person to help these two guys that were busting their butts. He sounded drunk and assured us that it normally takes two guys four hours to load the truck. Eventually he started yelling and we hung up on him. I will NEVER use this company again and I hope both those movers find a better employer. read more

I am extremely unsatisfied with the performance and quality of this company. During the move to our new home, we ensured to label all the boxes and specially mark fragile boxes, or boxes containing glass. Most of the fragile boxes contained wedding china, family heirlooms, and other special items. The company packed the U-Hauls with the fragile boxes at the bottom and didn't fasten the furniture down, which became a danger when unloading. Many glass sets were broken that belonged to my recently deceased grandmother. What was broken cannot be replaced and the owner, Matt, has refused to acknowledge their fault in the damages done. We sent numerous photos of the broken or damaged items along with photos from when they were still in the truck, fragile clearly written on the side of one of the boxes on the bottom. We have tried again and again to contact the owner in a small attempt to right this wrong and we are still left without answers. read more
