The movers themselves did an overall decent job, other than getting in too much of a hurry to leave once the household goods were delivered, due to some beds not being arranged and properly put together. As for the owner, MOVERS BEWARE! This guy is a liar and a thief. Move was quoted at nearly $14,000, where I was told that it was a weight-based move, BUT with the potential use of a third truck the costs were quoted at a SIGNIFICANTLY higher amount, due to the third truck. So, we were able to reduce our load down to 2 trucks, 1 and three-quarter trucks actually. With the reduction of the third truck, I was expecting a SIGNIFICANT reduction in the overall cost, but no, only an approximate $200 reduction in the overall cost. The owner already had it in his mind that he was going to get everything that he could, out of that nearly $14,000. Stay clear of this clown faced, bold ass liar, he's a crook! read more

They promised that we would have our own truck and that our belongings were going to be the only things on that truck. We paid them $18,000. At the last minute a much larger truck arrived that had contents destined for 2 stops in Dallas. Update: A half hour after posting our experience with Smooth Movers, Gabriel called to listen to our concerns and explain the lack of response from him. Extenuating circumstances had Gabriel out of the office for what sounds like a number of days. Ideally, the office personnel would have conveyed that to us with a simple return call or email vs. nothing. He was very apologetic for the lack of response to our calls and offered to listen to our situation and review the estimate and final invoice. In the end, we are pleased with the response that we received and have revised our rating to reflect that. I can not say enough good things about these guys. We moved to Cheyenne from Utah and drove our own Uhaul. We hired a moving company to unload in Cheyenne and after they were over 2 hours late they cancelled!!!!! I pulled up Yelp! and took a gamble on the first company I saw. MY GAMBLE PAID OFF!! I called at 5pm on a Wednesday evening. Told them my situation and that I needed unloaded THAT NIGHT! Luckily for me, there was a 4 man crew working on a job in my city! The owner never missed a beat and told me he'd send them over as soon as the finished!!!! The crew showed up around 8pm. I knew they had a long day and probably weren't thrilled about getting sent to an unexpected job, but you would have never known. They were incredibly respectful, upbeat and kind. Even when a giant storm hit half way through the unload. Again, they didn't miss a beat, they hopped in my Uhaul and backed it up as close as they could get to the garage and kept unloading. They were even cautious enough to cover ever sensitive item (mattresses and dressers) with a moving pad before moving it out so it didn't get wet. These guys were work horses. Absolutely THE BEST moving company in the region! I grew up in Wyoming but was temporarily in Arizona and needed to relocate an entire home from Phoenix back to Cheyenne. I simply did not have enough time to make several trips with a truck and trailer so I contacted Smooth Movers and let them know that I had a flexible schedule, and hoped to see what they had short notice. Not only did they work to give me several available days that I could consider, but they even gave me a couple pricing options. Within the next day of my initial call, I was contacted by the owner and was informed that they in fact had several trucks making a delivery from Wyoming to Arizona in the near future. They offered to give me an unbelievable rate if I could coordinate my move to utilize their trucks on their way back to Wyoming! The excellent service didn't end there. They arrived as promised on time, and had everything I needed to complete the move. They had two site foreman and a small crew, and literally packed my entire house and were on the road by 1:00pm. Every single thing was either bubble wrapped or covered in moving blankets and secured with bands. Did they need two trucks? NOPE. I have fragile personal items, brand new furniture, and even a giant gun safe. Every single inch of one truck (saving me the expense of two) was utilized and not a thing could rattle, shake, tip, or topple. I have moved more times than I can count and this was the only time I can ever remember sending my house off in a truck and not worry about how I would find it on the other end. I later found out that this company does contract moves for the University of Wyoming, large apartment complexes, FE Warren AFB, and on several occasions, pro bono moves for people in abusive relationships. All this and yet they took the time to personally and professionally take care of just an individual phone call trying to get back to Wyoming. Nothing but pleased with this outfit. I submitted an online form for a quote as I was getting quotes from various moving services around the area. Gabriel promptly replied and we negotiated a rate for a studio apartment and a storage unit. Due to my situation, we had to have the truck loaded, stored the items overnight, and delivered to the new house. They price matched my best quote and I was quite pleased to give the business to a local business rather than one from NoColorado. For loading Gabriel and Matt were right on time and ready to work. I have moved four times in the past two years and have had good experiences with those other companies and Smooth Movers blew them away. We have a motorized recliner (~250-300 lbs.) that these three other companies tried to take a part but could never figure it out. Matt and Gabriel looked right at it and got it broken down to make it more manageable and to avoid scratching the leather. I was very impressed. Both were very friendly and quite efficient. I swear they must have grown up glued to Tetris, as they were able to get it all in a single truck. They next day they were right on time with another person (another Matt) and they got right to work. It was all complete in no time at all. In fact they stayed to help to reassemble items that I had taken apart for the move - now that is customer service. No a single item was damaged as they blanketed and plastic wrapped all fragile items. I would most pleased and will certainly look to Smooth Movers again when the time comes.
