Outstanding BBQ. I've lived in the South for 16 years and there is some great BBQ down there. This rates right up there with the best.

We went here twice once for dinner and once for lunch while passing through…read more For dinner I shared the barbecue sampler with my wife. We chose the chicken, the brisket and the sausage, and broccoli salad and potato salad for the sides. Everything was incredible. My favorite was for sure the brisket with the crispy onions on top. My second favorite was the chicken, deliciously fall off the bone. My third favorite was the sausage. I'm not a huge smoked sausage fan but as far as smoked sausages go these were great. I think next time I would go with the pulled pork. The barbecue sauces were delicious. The meats were cooked perfectly. I really liked the salads as well (especially the broccoli salad, but the potato salad was also awesome). The Diavola pizza was incredible, I love spicy authentic Italian pizza, this was up there with the best I've ever had. You have to try the chocolate chip skillet cookie. I mean if you're a chocolate cookie lover like I am. The beer was great, love the IPA and the radler, and the Italian plum sour which was something different. For lunch I had the brisket sandwich... OMG with the crispy onions and bacon and cheese... TOO good. Also started with the smoked mushroom bacon dip, and had some amazing fries in the side with Chipotle dip. Everything was incredible! Oh, and I can't forget about the pup pretzels, a nice appy and kid favourite. My kids had some classic pizzas, pepperoni and prosciutto and arugula (which I sampled) and they hit the mark. The waiters were super friendly and attentive. I love the new decor and the feel of the restaurant. Much more open and bright and just a lot nicer/updated than the previous restaurant at this location which I had been to once before. Looking forward to going back when I'm in the area again.

I had the veggie pizza and the caramelized onions on top were really delicious. The only thing that I would recommend for improvement is the wine selection. I'm not sure what the house wine was, but it would be nice to have one or two branded options for the wine drinkers!

It was fairly quiet when we came close to 5pm on a Wednesday. It would be easy to miss if it wasn't for the BBQ sign at the entrance. It's located next to a Chinese and a McDonald's. The menu was simple and to my liking, pulled chicken, pork and brisket. Perfect BBQ food. The sides were unique and I've tried half of it so far. When you choose your smoked meat sandwich, you get the option of four sauces. Spicy, mustard/honey, sweet and original. They are all extremely delicious. The spicy one is a bit too much for me, but my colleague enjoys it. There really isn't a bad option. The service is very friendly and informative and the food is damn good, they smoke the meats overnight for 12 hours everyday. It pains me a little bit to see this place empty during lunchtime and a long waiting list at the McDonald's next to it. For the same price of a quarter pounder menu, you can get a delicious wholesome meal right here that won't kill you with artificial trash. My current favorite is the pulled chicken with homegrown sauce, add a homemade chicken soup to that and I'm golden. Give it a try, you will not regret it.

The Algonquin Clubhouse NOT The Smokehouse BBQ & Bar…read more We stopped in recently with a group of six, thinking we were going to The Smokehouse BBQ & Bar, but it turns out it's now called The Clubhouse. The name has changed on the hotel's pages, but most places online still show the old name, so we had no idea the menu was completely different. We found out the smokehouse setup broke, so they removed the outdoor smoker and have no intention to replace it. The service was great -- our waitress was super friendly and kept checking in on us, which we really appreciated. But the food was hit or miss. Three of our meals were decent, the other three... not so much for what we paid. The fish and chips came with one big piece of fish, the lobster roll was more of a minced mix instead of nice chunks like you'd expect, and the burger was pretty basic. On the flip side, the chicken burger was really good, but the nachos were tough and hard to eat. The French Fries were very good, which came with every meal except the nachos. Overall, the staff did a great job, but we were disappointed that the smokehouse menu we were looking forward to is gone -- and we've heard from others that they felt the same way. Not sure we'd go back unless things change, but hopefully management takes the feedback to heart.

Ambience was pretty non existent as it is a gold club unless you like rich guys yammering about their strokes but that wouldn't be annoying if the food was good. A big disappointment compared to the other Algonquin dining options.

I stayed at the Delta hotel for a few days and was able to access this restaurant easily through…read morethe hotel. I tried a few dishes that I was very happy with, and one that was mediocre. I had a chef's salad with salmon. The salmon was some of the best I've ever had (salmon is also a favorite of mine so I've had quite a bit). It was salty with a beautiful glaze on the top, I would order it again in a heartbeat. I had a bit of the burnt end poutine as well. I wasn't crazy about it but it was still very tasty. The gravy that came with it was delicious. The only dish I had that I considered mediocre was the salmon burger. Like I said before, I really like salmon and this burger didn't seem to do the flavors justice. It felt muffled by the bun and other toppings. To finish it off I also ordered the blueberry lemon cheese cake and the chocolate cake. Both of which were delicious! The chocolate cake came with some strawberries on the side that added a nice freshness to the dessert. The cake itself was a bit dry, but tasty nonetheless. The cheesecake was absolutely delicious and was my preferred desert. Topped with a healthy pile of blueberries, in a delicious syrup. It looked and tasted delicious (and was quite a large slice). The service we had was also great. Our waiter came to check on us throughout our meals and gave us some recommendations which I found very helpful.
