Everything at this place tasted so good! The customer service was amazing. And the inside has a great bbq restaurant look!

Carolina Sassy

Pulled up to Smoking Pig on my lunch break and went for the 2 meat combo, which comes with a side and cornbread. I chose brisket and the spare ribs (spare ribs were a $3 upcharge), with a side of potato salad and a peach lemonade. Starting with the spare ribs: I got them with the Carolina Sassy sauce, which gave a nice little kick, but they weren't my favorite. I'd give them a solid 7/10. The potato salad was pretty good, though I would've liked a bit more seasoning to elevate it. Still, it's a solid side at 7.5/10. Now the brisket--I asked for the fatty cut, and they delivered! It was perfectly juicy and flavorful, hitting all the right notes. Definitely the highlight of the meats at 9/10. The peach lemonade was a bit on the sweeter side for my taste (I like mine tangier), but still enjoyable. I'd rate it 8/10. But the real star of the show? That cornbread muffin with cinnamon butter. Absolutely incredible--10/10, no question. Overall, great service, laid-back BBQ vibes, and solid food. I'll definitely be back.

Burnt ends with fries, a side of baked beans and mac n cheese.

Came here early during the day and they werent that busy. We ordered the Burnt ends, a side of mac n cheese, fires and baked beans. I wasnt feeling so good so I didnt order a plate for my self but I did try my partners food and i really really liked the baked beans and the meat. Those baked beans were super good and the fries were seasoned well. the mac n cheese was alright wasn't too bad but not as good as the beans. The meat was super tender and flavorful, no complaints there. We also tried the different sauce options and they were all pretty good and go well with the meat if you were to add more sauce. The server was super nice and attentive, I would recommend this place for sure!

3 Meat Combo

If Yelp enabled half stars, I'd give 3.5! Didn't have it in me to give a 4 so had to go with a 3. I ordered food to go at lunch time today (Wednesday). Line was fairly quick for there only being one person taking orders at the time. The woman who took my order was really nice. I ordered the 3 meat combo. Being that I don't eat pork, I asked if I could do one beef rib instead of the two spare rib option, she said yes but it would be an additional $10. I wanted to try it and beef ribs are usually pretty big so I said okay. I also chose the brisket (chopped), and the chicken. Even with the three meat plate, you only get once side. So I ordered the mac and cheese and added the collard greens. That plus tip was about $46.50. I don't think you get a lot of food for the price. The beef rib was a looooot of fat, tasted good, but majority was fat. The chopped brisket was good, but again, didn't seem like a big enough portion for the price. Chicken was decent. They also only have one sauce for everything, which I thought was very little. Macaroni and cheese and collard greens were edible but nothing to rave about. They weren't bad, they just weren't extraordinarily good either. Greens would probably taste better if I had added some hot sauce to help. If I were to come back, I'd probably try different sides. I'll probably give this place another try soon with a different order, to see if my opinion changes. But for right now, I'd say it's a little over priced for lackluster food.

Great food for a big family like ours

I recently had one of the most amazing experiences ever at smoking pig BBQ. When I walked in the inviting aroma of smoked meat filled the air setting the stage for a delicious meal! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. I ordered the pulled pork and was phenomenal! We really mean it not just words, my family loved it! Tender smoky and packed with flavor. The sides, especially the mac and cheese were quality impressive. And we ordered a ton of other stuff, the worker had a great experience presenting the good and great service too! Great job guys....

Order Pickup- I placed the order online easily and when I went inside to pickup I had no wait. However, when I got back to the office I realized that the salad dressing was missing so I had to return to the store (big inconvenice for an office function). While I was there the 2nd time getting the sauce, I waited about 5-7 minutes. Food- The food was not that great. This is said to be american bbq (hence the name) but it was nothing like your traditional/ideal bbq. All of the food tasted like it had a asian twist to it (maybe sesame or soy sauce?) I ordered the 2 meat combo and got burnt ends and rib tips*(cant remember) and it tasted like asian inspired bbq? The collard greens looked like it could have been mixed with kale? The macaroni & cheese was okay, nothing to brag about. The cornbread was probably the best seller because it was squishy and moist. Ambiance- when I walked in it was dead silence. Its a bbq spot! To drown out everyones conversations I would suggest playing some music (country,blues..ect) It didnt even smell like bbq was cooking in the back. The ambiance needs a little work. The staff seemed happy and helpful but I think some music would really change the tone. Service: the service was good no complaints.from what I observed the staff showed that they had great teamworking skils. They were friendly to customers and even had a a few jokes. All in all I probably wouldnt suggest eating here because of the food quality/taste.

We got pulled pork, fatty brisket!! Mac/cheese/ all sauces are great!! Can't say enough about this place !! 10 STARS!!

Burnt ends were very dry and hard to chew, salad came with 1 tiny dressing that barely covered the salad. Won't be ordering again with them.

The supplied meat sauces were good and helped the brisket become a fairly decent flavored sliced brisket. I also ordered a side of Bratwurst sausage, it had a very good texture, was cooked perfect and was very tasty. My side dish was Texas Ranch beans, a successful homage to chili with beans, with variuos beans and a really great taste. A delicious cornbread was opted for over the white bread and was accompanied by pickles that lacked flavor and dissappointingly , no fresh white onions , which is unusual for Texas bbq: dill pickles, white onions and white bread are practically a required condiment to claim Texas bbq status. My wife ordered the St.Louis pork ribs which were cooked tender but lacked smoke flavor. Once again, the bbq sauces on the table made for an enjoyable meal along with the great Mac n cheese. I wish there was more smoke flavor on the food to report, maybe it was an off day but I didn't see any smoke leaving the pit tanks cooking outside by street. This place truly looks like Texas bbqs I've visited before but failed in a couple of ways to impress. The small 2 piece portion of brisket was not impressive and 4th rib would have been welcomed. The service was very good and this place is a cool place to drink and watch a football game. I'll be back to try other items, lots of delicious sounding sandwiches are offered. The Texas Ranch beans and cornbread together with a beer would be great together. That's my next move when I return.
