Probably the BEST BBQ we have ever had! The brisket was cooked perfect and the Spoon Bread was delicious! Definitely stop by!

The best in North , excellent food and service ! I highly recommend this place for your barbecue taste !

I had bbq pulled pork sandwich which was loaded with pork. The fries were delicious. My husband' s rib tips were good too. The prices were very reasonable. The employee was very friendly and helpful. I like seating outside. Good but not great. read more

Ok, this place doesn't look like much when you are walking up. The staff is friendly. There is a sign to let you know it's not fast food but I ordered a few sandwiches and a rack of ribs and waited less than 10 min. I had the brisket which I thought was excellent. While there is no sauce, the meat is tender, juicy and smokey with a lot of flavor. I enjoyed the spoon bread because I like sweet corn bread. I'd highly recommend to give it a try. read more

Great place lovely couple bringing a bit of Texas to a great community known for its local cuisine. Great use of rustic decor and lighting. Price and size is very worth the purchase portions are great and quality is there for sure. The corn bread pudding is worth the stop alone and the mac n cheese is just right. Great portion of family fries makes the meal. Spicy sausage is spicyfor me but great quality. Only recommendation would be more bbq on the side or on the ribs out order was dry cause of it but thank you for bringing this to our area. Best of luck read more

So I was Lake Station and love BBQ so I decided to try a place I've never tried Smokin E's BBQ first let me tell u I noticed the bag was extra light. Not normal wen ordering tips I literally got 3 rib tips , nice am of fries but no tips . It cost $9 I wanted to go all the way bak and take that mess back where's the meat ,Also to find out that the 3 tips was full of Gristle hardly no meat on the 3 I got . NEVERRRR AGAIN they got me ! read more

Went there and had the large rib tip and fries. Lots of tender smoked meat. Some fat as to be expected but not a lot, just the right tiny amount to melt in ur mouth not overpower your mouth with tons of fat. I added extra bbq sauce over over fries and rib tips cause I like them extra saucy. EXCELLENT! I also ordered a half pound on brisket. Their dry rub was great as well. Nice smoke ring and not SALTY as some rubs are. No pic of brisket. I will definitely go back. Place was very tiny and cold, no bathroom either. But my food I received and friendly staff well made up for that. Cant wait to go back when it warms up Lol. read more

Smokin' E's BBQ - Yum!! - Barbeque Near Me - Lake Station, Indiana

Decided to try these guys after seeing they won best of the region for Ribs. I thought the ribs were good however I think they are too pricey for $25. The brisket sandwich was very good but didn't come with any barbecue sauce. We didn't care for the pulled pork sandwich. We found it very dry and again little to no sauce. We also ordered the macaroni and cheese and found it bland and not seasoned. Overall for the price And the food I probably wouldn't go back. I did however really like their brisket a lot. read more

All of our food was dry. We were fine with the wait because we assumed it was being prepared. Sadly, I had to add store bought sauce just to eat it. read more

I certainly hope that this place has better luck at this location than the previous 3 restaurants who only lasted less than a year each. I made my first stop here about a week ago and it wasn't too bad. Especially considering the fact that I'm not the biggest fan of BBQ. The pulled pork fries were really good. So was the pulled pork sandwich even though I don't understand why they don't just mix the BBQ sauce in with the pork instead of giving you a cup on the side. I also had the brisket sandwich which also wasn't bad, but wasn't as hot as it should have been. Meaning hot as in temperature wise, not spice. They do lose points for being out of potato salad the day I ordered. They also need a more extensive menu. There's not much to it at all. Just basically pulled pork, brisket, and ribs. Not really many sides or appetizers either. However, over all I would still give them 3-1/2 stars based on my first visit. I really feel that if this place is going to be successful, it's probably going to rely on word of mouth because it's not in the best of locations just being in Lake Station alone. read more

I had the most wonderful dinner yesterday. I have been wanting to try this place so I ordered the combo that was half slab of ribs beef brisket pulled pork hot links 1 of each and a jar of the BBQ sauce. It was all anazing. The brisket surprised me as I am not a huge fan but was so delicious I will order it again. My sister and. Brother in law has some and I took the rest to work. Generous portions. My order was ready when I arrived. I will be going back for sure. If you have not tried it I suggest you give it a try. You won't be sorry. read more

Ran by a true professional and offers a variety of BBQ favorites!

Food wasn't up to my critique shouldn't call it award winning it's honestly trash will not come here again. Macaroni had no flavor poor quality DO BETTER !! Was not worth $130 read more

Stopped today for lunch, had ribs and a Hot Link Sausage and it was good. Hot Link was huge and pretty good. Ribs had plenty of meat on them. Fries were perfect Too. My buddy had a pulled pork sandwich and was rather happy with it. Little red haired girl working the counter was very pleasant and another lady came up from the back and was very friendly as well. Place definitely has a dive feel to it, not fancy, but I liked that about the place. Only thing I didn't like was the sauce was pretty thin. Not bad at all, good flavor, just thinner than I personally prefer. Either way I'll definitely be back. read more

I will start by saying I haven't had everything on the menu so I can only speak for what I've had. Unfortunately I have to say my experience here was underwhelming. This would be my second time visiting. I first visited when they were in the large building before moving next to DQ and at the time I gave it about a 5/10. This time I got my sandwich almost immediately after I ordered. My brisket sandwich was extremely soggy due to them pulling the meat out of a crock pot dripping with juice, then plopping the meat down onto the bread. I understand there are other ways to cook something but a crock pot, really? It felt more like I should have been eating an Italian beef with au jus. The brisket had fatty pieces, but the meat was so finely chopped it seemed odd. I would say completely minced. For $13+ after tax it doesn't seem worth it. You'd be spending over $20 with a side and a drink and the flavor just isn't there in the meat and the 2 BBQ sauces they offer. read more

Blink, and you would drive right past this place. Which is a shame considering it is such a GEM! Actually, considering it is an absolute whole in the wall, it might be more accurate to say it's a Diamond in the Rough. If you are like me though, you know that these are the BBQ joints that often times have the very best well kept secrets. I have tried just about everything they offer and it is all - all of it - top notch, very well done BBQ. However, as good as their brisket, pulled pork, or ribs might be... It is their smoked sausages that are OUT OF CONTROL. I am serious about that too. I challenge anyone to find a place that offers an equal in the smoked sausage category. They usually offer 3 varieties, but not all 3 are always available at the same time, so I recommend calling ahead to see if your favorite is on tap so to speak. Flavors range from the mild "Applewood" which has a sweet, savory, and smokey combination that is reminiscent of breakfast cooked on an open campfire; to the medium "Peppered Cheese" stuffed with just enough cheese to make it's presence known without distracting from the perfectly seasoned meat; and my personal favorite "Hot Link" which is an amazing balancing act of smokey heat that offers just a hint of sweetness in the back end. I have been coming to this place about a year and a half now and decided to finally put up a review because after a dozen or so taste tests I am convinced they are not only the real deal that no one knows about, but also - Best Sausage in NWI???????? I suppose I'm in no position to say that for sure, but I can guarantee you they would definitely be part of the conversation. Would probably even make the short list. Try them out soon!!!! read more

I wish the place were more nice, looks like a trucker's tavern and inside is not attractive at all. I just couldn't stay and eat there....sorry guys. Not like at all. read more
