    Garden Bagel
    Taylor A.

Cute cafe in downtown Pella! Just got food this time, but I've heard their coffee is really good. I tried their Garden Bagel, which has veggie cream cheese, green pepper, cucumber, lettuce, and cheese. Highly recommend! Also comes with chips.

I needed to get some WiFi while on the road. Came in here for a cup of coffee and connection to the internet. Coffee was really good. Internet speed was good, especially with so many people here. Ended up staying for lunch, and the club sandwich was so packed with goodies, I could barely fit it into my mouth. Highly recommend this place!

Really cute spot right on the corner. It has outdoor seating and indoor and two levels inside for seating. Girl taking my order was very sweet and gave great recommendations. I wouldn't have gotten the coffee muffin because those always seem dry to me. But this was noise and dense and perfectly made. She also suggested the sweet Georgia brown for my drink as it's specific to their cafe. If I ever come back to this small town, this is a solid place for a drink and some food.

We waited almost 40 minutes and the drinks never came. I went up and asked them what's going on. And they said we're very stressed right now. And we're not getting things out. There's basically 4 people in the whole place... I've been coming here for 10 years. It used to be the best place in Pella for good food, ice cream and milkshakes. Now it's gone so far down Hill that it's empty and the service is really, really, really poor and the excuses that they give you are even worse. The actual numbers of problems was not only for our group.I hope they can get the staff thing worked, mind you it was a simple Rootbeer float.

    Cheeseburger chowder and taco salad

From Des Moines it was a shock to realize there was more than one location. Excited that the menu was the same because I craved their cheeseburger chowder. I got myself a cup, because my mom ordered the taco salad. When she ordered it and asked got chicken instead of beef. The girl behind the counter said it wouldn't taste like a taco, but switched it up. The food came out in good time. I had no problem getting through my chowder and helping her with the salad. It was a big helping. It tasted great and we enjoyed it. I do enjoy this coffee shop. They got a little bit of everything and I recommend them.

New to the area and happy to find: Great coffee, warm and happy environment, friendly service (at the second register, don't stand at the closed first one, that's how they tell you're a newb--lol)... this location is a smaller, more quaint version of the EPIC location in Oskaloosa. The kid's chocolate milk and a thick-sugary-iced sugar cookie was a big hit with the littles. (Photo of our cute child included for extra likes.) Healthier hack: for a low carb, sugar-free drink, try this: Medium latte, instead of milk substitute half whole cream and half water, add sugar free syrup of your choice. Add an extra shot of espresso for the joy of living. Avoid giant cookies.

In town for work and stopped in for some coffee and breakfast while catching up with coworkers. The Main Street in this town is so cute and trendy. Smokey Row keeps up those vibes, cool atmosphere and lots of patrons. I had a nutty Irishman latte (I ordered iced but got hot, no biggie) and a lemon poppyseed muffin. Both were delicious! Looking forward to trying more when I'm back in town!

Small town ice cream & soda shop, barista, and small plate cafe wrapped up in a lively atmosphere with brick walls and modern diner booths. Well known for their Hamburger Chowder. Lots of seating options with spaces for 2-8 people. Order at the counter and don't forget to grab a bag of beans to go. My fave is the Creme Brûlée and Blueberry. Can get busy and crowded so order to go and find a park bench across the street at the park. The new fall menu is amazing! My daughters ordered an iced pumpkin spice latte and the campfire mocha, both giving you an early taste of fall. The staff was very kind and completed our order within minutes.

    Turkey panini and "kettle chips"??
    Katie S.

First time in Pella, stopped at Smokey Row for lunch since it looked like a cute cafe right in the heart of Pella. Husband and I both ordered paninis - his chicken and mine turkey. The cashier said they came with kettle chips so we didn't order any additional sides. The cafe was pretty busy during the lunch hour but we managed to find an open booth, just had to wait a minute for it to be cleaned off. Our food didn't take too long, but the first thing we noticed was that we received chips & salsa instead of kettle chips. Our guess is they ran out of kettle chips and substituted? Not sure, and we would've preferred the kettle chips since those pair better with comfort lunch food. Husband had to look at the menu again to confirm he received the right thing - menu listed strips of chicken and instead he got a chicken breast that tasted processed. My turkey panini was ok, wouldn't order again but it was ok. We think this cafe is better known for their wide coffee selection and all-day breakfast menu. We wish we would have tried those instead - given how busy it was in there that must be the key!

    Origin brew and iced coffee.
    Alexandra A.

The coffee is fresh and the are plenty of choices. I had the Origin fresh brew and my friend had iced coffee with heavy cream. They have plenty of seating and nice big windows to look out while inside. There are also some souvenirs including various coffee cups.

What I DO remember is this: This particular day brought intermittent rain, which was especially stressful with two toddlers in tow. We walked to Iris in hopes of finding a dry spot to sit for awhile as our accommodations weren't ready for us quite yet. Upon arriving, we realized the door was locked and they'd closed up a few minutes before. However - when the staff saw us, they promptly invited us in. I protested because we wanted to stay awhile, not just grab and go, and they met my protests with warm hospitality. We ended up staying and playing for at least an hour or more while they cleaned the space, and kept inviting other shelter-seeking customers into their business as well. I was truly so delighted and relieved by their kindness. Not to mention their coffee is TRULY excellent. Roasted in house, served up by a knowledgeable staff who truly loves what they do, and so many creative rotating seasonal offerings. We ended up getting to chat briefly with the owner when we overheard her mention our favorite coffeeshop from our home town. So many cool little connections and crossovers. We've made it a point to go out of our way to visit any time we can, and every time we've experienced the same warm hospitality and excellence.

And, the strawberry matcha latte tasted like watered down grassy milk with a memory of strawberry (it was one of the worst matches lattes I've ever had). The ambiance was lacking because of the crush of peeps for the tulip festival, but the drinks were made quickly! However, when my lovely sister asked for a drink that was sold out and then asked for the breve the gal gave her attitude that she didn't want one of the "tulip" themed drinks instead... if someone knows what they want, let them order it!

Here's the incredible cupcakes I got: White Wedding Cake. Maybe that sounds boring, but this is a classic cake packing amazing flavor. A cross between white cake & angel food cake with a hint of almond- simple and delicious the menu said. The cake is moist, so soft and silky with that excellent almond wedding cake flavor that just amazes your taste buds. Incredibly delightful and delicate. Ultimate Strawberry. Ultimate Strawberry my as$! This should be named Ultimate Crack cupcake. It's not your ordinary strawberry cupcake. Made with crushed strawberries, combined with strawberry buttercream, the cupcake melts in your mouth. However, it doesn't mention how addictive the flavor is. Such an amazing strawberry cake! The sleeper, chocolate chip cookie dough with chocolate cake. Filled with cream and cookie bites in the center and topped with vanilla buttercream more cookie dough bites and mini chocolate chips. I always worry chocolate will be dry, not this cake. I know somebody will say that I am comparing, however I am not, I am just describing. The flavor reminded me of a hostess cupcake with the cream center on steroids. So much more flavor, the chocolate, cream, and then the cookie dough bites. Wow, just incredible. Moist cake with that cream center is just a comfort food classic that just brings you back to being a kid. Man I love cupcakes and this one just made me smile like the strawberry. I wasn't expecting that to be so incredible intense. Wow, I am just on a sugar rush. You could just taste all the incredible love baked into the cupcakes. They all made my tastebuds dance with the incredible flavors and how moist and fresh all the cake was. So soft and decadent. The chocolate chip cookie cake is that old school birthday giant cookie that is classic. So good with the light vanilla buttercream. I ordered a couple weeks ahead and it was a breeze. Everything was ready when I picked it up. The owner was incredibly nice and friendly. I would absolutely order again.
