That's what I lived for. Salzer's always was THE place and it still is. They are the only one to survive. Every other record store is long gone. A distant memory. You don't last as long as they have unless you're doing something right. They do it right. Top to bottom. Any time family or friends would come to town, they always wanted to go to Salazar's. I've spent countless hours flipping through all their albums. If you had the time, you could find some gems. Always more than helpful. Knowledge that's unmatched. I still love going in that store and every time I do.....it brings back memories of another lifetime.

And then I would undercut the market by 30% and operate on volume over profit margins because the economy has changed and the folks who put together a strategy that mirrors the problems in the pockets of its customers will have a line out the door and people will stick around, buy more and invite their friends. Maybe add a rockin' coffee bar?! The traditional model of foreigners arriving and putting the exact same products on the shelves as the guy across the street without any sense of differentiation, no marketing plan, mediocre customer service; it's all rather tired and not an attractive addition to the community. Then expecting customer loyalty and offering cash discounts such as "Sure you can pay me an extra $5 bucks for being stupid enough to walk in the door." The best vapes are available in Agoura Hills at The Treasure Chest for 25% less. And you don't have to pay for fluorescent lighting sure to provide a head ache on your way in. Seemingly entirely uninterested in knowing their market, just stock up, add some tacky cheap jewelry and open the doors. This isn't downtown Chinatown but they keep repeating the theme, not offering anything, no incentive to return and ultimately make me feel like garbage for patronizing them at all. No one is bad. No. But no one even TRIES to be wonderful. A strong theme in all kinds of businesses lately wherein creativity and innovation are checked at the lease signing. A supremely cozy lounge where people who smoke can discuss an intelligent plan for quitting? Just to start. Give away samples. Don't hoard your money. They aren't coming because you're not offering anything worthwhile so they all become increasingly .' 'vulturous.' This is our country and you're welcome to my money when you price compete and offer an environment that doesn't give me a stomach ache.
