He also said something to the effect of if you can afford it. My boyfriend is Hispanic and I thought that micro aggression of assuming he did construction was rude, uncalled for and low key racist. My boyfriend didn't pay it any attention but I had to throw in there that he is a police officer so it didn't need to be heavy duty. The guy working there just looked at me like go away.
