It was my first time coming here. I shopped around adding for process to see who was the cheapest AND see how long the wait was. I came across this so I called inquiring. I called a few places and it was all above $50. The guy Khaled was on the line and said it costs $45 and it'll take 10 mins since there were no costumers. So I went there and he was available. I timed him and it only took 7 mins! I was very happy AND impressed, hence the 5 stars! I highly recommend this place if ever you need a smog test done! Thank you! read more

Small place, but fast, courteous operator. Very friendly. Cost was comparable with average in the community.

$55 - great service the entire time. Pulled in and it took 10 minutes and I was on my way with a pass!

Great service, very quick, got in and out with ease. Recommend this place to anyone looking to get a smog test.

I always go here to get my car smog. Never had any problems. They're fast, and efficient here. I'm usually in and out in 15-20mins at most!

I just got my car smogged there yesterday and I had the best experience! My car is notorious for being difficult to smog sometimes but they just had the magic touch ! 10/10 will be going back to them in the future! read more

I took my sienna van for smog test. He gave me some useful advise about maintaining the van which I followed to the letter. I went to see him the next day and he did the test without delay. He is also knowledgeable about mechanical aspects of cars. He is very friendly and customer centric. read more

I was trying to find a different smog place that I think was in the parking lot in front of this one but I missed the entrance and went into the entrance for this smog shop because they had a bunch of signs around advertising's smog check. I'm glad I did I was in and out in less than ten minutes. I also appreciated one set price of 38$, other places offer coupons that make it seem cheaper but there's hidden fees. Best part was I got to stay in my car! read more

Horrible place I would not recommend this place to anybody they don't give you the proper paperwork and they don't help assist the place is dirty small sketchy all around very uncourteous. To answer comment from owner: Yes I have been to your business I attended to back in February 2018 the proper paperwork I was not given was the certification of pass and receipt was not given either the electronic form was not sent to the DMV so when I came back into the business to try and get the proper paperwork the person behind the desk was very rude and unhelpful eventually AAA actually helped me accommodate the proper paperwork. read more

Great service! I went in without an appointment. No lines and didn't have to wait. Plenty of parking and only one other person who needed service after me. The service was so fast that I didn't even finish half my Starbucks Pumpkin Cold Brew :D $38 for the Acura and passed. Friendly service. Thanks a lot! read more

Absolutely recommend this place to anyone in need of smog check. Have been here a few times. The owner is friendly, helpful, and provides super quick service. 5 stars! read more

The guy is very dishonest. The sign outside said $36 for vehicles 2000+, which is already a bit high. My vehicle is 2001, and my bill was $60 with no explanation why. I do not expect to have to "haggle" to get a price that was clearly advertised. Last time, I used another place and it was $45 total, with no false advertisements or haggling. Please don't support this guy. The good thing was it was fast. Probably because he has no business, due to ripping off his customers, lol. read more

Actually came into this spot by accident. My experience was very good. Khaleed was very pleasant. My smog was completed within 15 minutes. I proceeded to AAA immediately after to pay my registration and had no issues with the certificate. Very good price as well. Would recommend. read more

Took my truck here and it did not pass the first time. The guy working here explained to me what the problem was and how to fix it. He was very helpful. I'm giving a one-star review because there's no lower rating available. I feel that we were scammed. We've been bringing our cars to this shop for years with good service and referring friends & family. We won't be back ever based upon today's experience! Brought in an older car today that has been sitting idle for awhile. The owner warned (more like set us up) right away that if it didn't pass, he wouldn't test it again for free, per his sign, as it was 1999 vehicle and his retest guarantee only applied to 2000 and newer cars. I told him we just drove it over from the repair shop a few minutes away and asked if we should get it out on the freeway for a few minutes to get it ready to test. He assured me it was not necessary (turned out to be a lie). I asked again because it was my understanding it needed to run for awhile before testing, but I deferred to him based upon our past positive experiences with his shop--big mistake! After the test failed (his obvious plan), he said drive it on the freeway for 60 miles, and then bring it back in for retest and pay another $35! It seems rather obvious this was part of his plan all along--to get 2 or more smog fees for older cars! He likely knew it would fail, didn't care if it failed, and was likely hoping it failed, so that he could get one or two more additional tests @ $35 a crack. I felt ripped off and embarrassed that I fell for this obvious scam. To add insult-to-injury the guy was very rude and unprofessional in the way he addressed the issue calling me a liar about asking him if we should get it warmed up on the freeway first. Even if that was true, why would he do the test on a cold vehicle knowing the likelihood for a failed test. The answer is greed related I'm sure. He didn't offer to retest it for free, which I feel should have been done. We asked for a free re-test which he rudely denied. He reassured me he didn't care that he lost my business forever and to never come back. He'll likely go out of business soon with this attitude and nefarious new business practice. We will also be filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau. Beware of this place! Saw the owners response. He should watch his video. His claims are untrue. What a scammer! He knew the test would fail which he saw an an opportunity to make me pay for another test. Shame on him. read more

Had to pay registration and this happened to be the year for me to have a smog check. Of course. Looked up a few places and this happened to be the cheapest and walk in's for the check. $38 at this place opposed to$50- $60 at others. He got me in and out in know time. If you don't pass you don't pay. read more

Any reviews calling this owner a cheat and liar are true. Free re-test is a lie. Tries to haggle more money out of you. This place is dirty and slow and has a bad reputation, so owner is trying to extract money off the customers by any means necessary to stay afloat. There are lots of good options out there. Use them. This place looks like the cheapest, until you he tries to squeeze you for additional fees and holds your paperwork hostage. read more

I had a great experience with this Smog Shop. The man was so nice and informative on all my questions and concerns. He had me in and out in 10 minutes! No joke and my smog was efficiently done and I got my certificate. I would recommend him to everyone. You past or don't pay! read more

Messaged me back promptly with a quote for smog out the door for my Sienna that he honored. Be advised that the quoted price is cash only. I was happy with the speed and service and just gave him the opportunity to quote another vehicle for smog. I have been to other smog shops in the area that were filthy and that played games. This is a clean shop, with no game playing. read more

This would be the third time I brought my diesel to this location, this year was $50. The owner did not tell me it was $50 until it was hooked up. And he did not tell me that if I didn't pass I would have to pay again. He failed me technical error code. He recommended to drive it 50 miles and come back and wants to charge me again. I don't mind paying $8 more for customer communication.Lost a customer I'll go somewhere else! read more

Honest, fair priced, and I was in and out in 10min. You can't beat that! Will be coming every year!

He is seriously the most honest automotive tech I've ever met. I went to Smog Star Test Only after I made the dumb mistake of taking my car to a test and repair shop (EAC Excellent Auto Care and Tire in Temecula). I learned the hard way some test & repair shops, like EAC, will advertise less for a smog test so they can go through your car with a fine toothed comb and find a reason to fail you to cash in on repairs. I searched other smog check stations in the area and noticed Smog STAR has a "Smog Preparation and Advice" section on their website. When I went, the owner was clearly there to help. He is easy to talk to, honest, and informative. If you need a smog check, do yourself a favor; take your car to Smog Star Test Only and ignore the b.s. negative reviews and coupons in the mail from test & repair shops read more

Very good experience getting a SMOG check. Like other reviews state: - 2000 or newer cars take about 5 minutes. I had a great conversation with the guy and I was still out of there in 10 minutes. - Pre-2000 cars take about 15 minutes. The guy that runs the place is very friendly and gets the task done quickly. In and out in less than 15 minutes for $38! Its true. Carl was very quick and professional. Highly recommended!

Because I am used to my car not needing a smog check, I failed to see until the last minute that my son's car needed one. He had to get to OC for work by noon on a Sunday, the day the registration was due. We were in a pickle. We found a location that showed on their website that they were open on Sundays at 9 AM. So he went over there to take care of this before heading to work. However, the website was incorrect and the place was closed. I called Smog Star Test Only to see how quickly they could do his test, because they showed on the website opening at 9:30. Kal answered the phone but he was not there yet because they're hours had changed to 10. However he rushed over to the location where my son was waiting and hurried and got him on his way. It really was exceptional customer service. He saved us!!! read more

I went in for a smog test, It took about 10 minutes! Make sure to bring $38 in cash. Debit/credit gets charged $2. Good experience. Owner is friendly. read more

I arrived before this shop was open and the technician let me in early. I was out and passed the test within fifteen minutes.

Why would I go anywhere else to smog my car. Cal took my car in immediately and I was in and out in ten minutes. If you were not aware, it is usually better to go to a test only station for smog because they have nothing to gain by your pass or fail. If you fail he will give you the code and you can fix it where you like. Bring it back for a free retest and all is good. Outstanding work. Cheers to Smog Star Test Only on Pear Street in Murrieta.
