I would not trust the coupon they advertise. I was initially told the smog check would cost $60. When I showed the coupon ($39.75 + $8.25 DMV fee), the total was brought down to $50, which I agreed to. However, after the smog check was completed and I handed over my credit card, I was then told that the coupon price only applies if you pay in cash. This was never mentioned beforehand, and there was no indication of that restriction on the coupon. This felt misleading and unprofessional. Caught on video shortly after a "minor" misunderstanding that seemingly turned into a sailor's best imitation. I unfortunately couldn't pass my smog the day before and another employer told me that I could come back within a week for another smog test. I came back today, only 24 hours later, and this employee who somehow can complete smogs in 10 minutes (red flag; other mechanic took 30 minutes to an hour). This man yelled at me like I was crazy because I mentioned that the last employee told me he'd redo my smog for free. I told him that I'd still pay because he's the only one open today (Labor Day), but instead he told me GTFO and called me POS repeatedly. After denying to do my smog even after saying I'd pay, I felt inclined to share this report so others can be aware! read more

Don't be fooled by this "gentleman" who says that a truck or SUV will be $60 instead of the $31.75 coupon merely because of it's size. If your vehicle is year 2000 or newer, the smog test is exactly the same. The coupon says "extra charge"; ok, milk me for $10 more maybe, be dishonest, but not double. The plug-in diagnostic port under the steering column is identical to any other vehicle, car or otherwise year 2000 or newer. I am so, so tired of blatant naive dishonesty in society. We came across this location and based on positive reviews, we decided to give it a try. They take walk-ins and we were in and out in roughly 20 minutes. The guy that helped us was super nice! Be sure to mention Yelp and you'll get $5 off. Tip: I suggest you call ahead and ask for a quote for the year, make and model of your car. Found this spot on Google Maps. It's a good little place to come in for your smog. The worker was nice and they were quick to get the car in. The price is great too! Smog-N-Save is the place to go for your DMV smog check(STAR Certified). I literally walked to the grocery store(Cardenas) across the street and by the time I was back they were already done. They gave me my paper work and I was out the door. I only paid $35(cash); I think they charge $37.50 if you use a debit card. I don't know if this is their every day price or just a promotional offer. The smog check next door wanted to charge me $50; so don't go there. Two thumbs up to the guys who helped me. read more
