He was prompt, attentive,…read moreand his tiling work was flawless--my bathroom turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined. He even went above and beyond by helping me with a clogged pipe later on, free of charge. Because of that great experience, I hired him again to tile my foyer and kitchen with the same tile as my bathroom. Unfortunately, this job did not go as smoothly. Due to a miscommunication, he initially laid the tiles in the wrong direction and had to start over. While that was partly on me for not specifying, I was disappointed that the final results weren't as polished. The grout is very shallow, making it prone to dirt buildup, and some of the baseboards he replaced caused damage to my walls. We agreed that he would return to fix these issues, but it has now been four months, and despite multiple attempts to contact him, he has not come back to complete the work. It's frustrating because I know he has the skill and talent to do great work--he proved that with my bathroom. However, the quality and reliability seem to have declined, which is really disappointing. I hope he follows through and finishes what was promised.

Mike and his team completed a full kitchen and basement renovation in my newly purchased 90 year…read moreold home. I could not have been happier with the result! Having had bad experiences with trades in the past, I was hesitant to take on such a large project. But our house had been occupied by the same family for almost 50 years and was in desperate need of updating. I wanted to maintain some of the historical details blended with modern updates. Based on some of the other renos of his I've seen, this seems to be his specialty. He tackled every aspect of the reno with design in mind. For the basement, Mike suggested heated concrete floors that we absolutely love. When bathroom fixtures were delivered and didn't match the modern elements in the basement bath, they were returned and reelected. When I was having trouble choosing tile, they helped out. I gave a basic outline of what I wanted in the kitchen and Mike's team fleshed out the design beautifully. There was good collaboration between his team and I. Since we had recently purchased the home, we were on a tight budget. Mike provided thoughtful suggestions on where to save money. They were respectful when items were cut for cost savings and never tried to get us to spend more than we were comfortable with. The budget never increased from the original quote except for when I added on larger scale items like a gas line to my new range and BBQ. When tiles were priced out a couple cents higher than my budget, they confirmed before purchasing them. We were informed of all the details along the way. My timeline was also tight since we only had a few weeks where renos could be done before we had to move in. The team was there late each night and on weekends in some cases to prepare for our move-in. Work continued after we had moved and workers were there every weekday. Shout-out to Harold who was at our house almost everyday. Trades always showed up as scheduled. Periodically, we would meet up for a walk through. I would usually have a list of questions or items that I would like him to work on. He was always patient and thorough when explaining his answers. When I asked for items to be worked on, it was never a problem. He often already had the same list of items to be worked on. Working with Mike was truly a wonderful experience and I highly recommend him. I can't wait to have them back to tackle all of the new projects I have dreamt up!
