I am very happy with my experience with Uniq…read more To begin, Dino took the time to measure things carefully and ensure he understood what it was I was looking to have done. This involved an actual conversation, not just a few questions. This gave me confidence that the estimate would be accurate. We met at his showroom in Markham so that I could see samples of the products offered so that I could refine the target. A realistic and acceptable timeframe was provided as to the start of the job. The team was actually able to start a little sooner than anticipated, which worked great for me. When work started, everyone involved was very friendly and experienced. Even though it was only a week long job, Dino made a point of coming by when his team was at work to ensure that the job was going well and there were no surprises. I felt things went very quickly and the quality of the work was excellent. I highly recommend Uniq to anyone looking for this type of work. You might want to visit his showroom to see the types of products he has available.

Mike and his team completed a full kitchen and basement renovation in my newly purchased 90 year…read moreold home. I could not have been happier with the result! Having had bad experiences with trades in the past, I was hesitant to take on such a large project. But our house had been occupied by the same family for almost 50 years and was in desperate need of updating. I wanted to maintain some of the historical details blended with modern updates. Based on some of the other renos of his I've seen, this seems to be his specialty. He tackled every aspect of the reno with design in mind. For the basement, Mike suggested heated concrete floors that we absolutely love. When bathroom fixtures were delivered and didn't match the modern elements in the basement bath, they were returned and reelected. When I was having trouble choosing tile, they helped out. I gave a basic outline of what I wanted in the kitchen and Mike's team fleshed out the design beautifully. There was good collaboration between his team and I. Since we had recently purchased the home, we were on a tight budget. Mike provided thoughtful suggestions on where to save money. They were respectful when items were cut for cost savings and never tried to get us to spend more than we were comfortable with. The budget never increased from the original quote except for when I added on larger scale items like a gas line to my new range and BBQ. When tiles were priced out a couple cents higher than my budget, they confirmed before purchasing them. We were informed of all the details along the way. My timeline was also tight since we only had a few weeks where renos could be done before we had to move in. The team was there late each night and on weekends in some cases to prepare for our move-in. Work continued after we had moved and workers were there every weekday. Shout-out to Harold who was at our house almost everyday. Trades always showed up as scheduled. Periodically, we would meet up for a walk through. I would usually have a list of questions or items that I would like him to work on. He was always patient and thorough when explaining his answers. When I asked for items to be worked on, it was never a problem. He often already had the same list of items to be worked on. Working with Mike was truly a wonderful experience and I highly recommend him. I can't wait to have them back to tackle all of the new projects I have dreamt up!

Garage Build--Reliable, Professional, Detailed and Efficient…read more I had a great experience working with Grand Building and Contracting Ltd. I hired them to remove and construct a new garage. Adam and his team understood the entire scope of the work. I was provided with a detailed schedule, timelines, and estimate before commencing the project. There was an issue with a city tree on my neighbour's property that had to be dealt with. Other contractors vanished at this point in the project. Adam guided me on what steps I had to take and the necessary paperwork I needed to file with the city over the course of seven months. When the project was finally approved, the trades workers were on time, highly skilled, professional and efficient. Adam was there at the beginning and end of every part of the construction. I greatly appreciated the regular communications I received. He even made sure my neighbours were satisfied with how the construction was effecting them. I can't say enough positive things about Grand Building and Contracting Ltd. I will use them again for my next project. I highly recommend that anyone give them an opportunity; you will not be disappointed.
