Melania was a great documentary. Theater was good and a clean place to go see a movie. In and out , been going there for years.

Pretty good place for movies, the place isn't too packed and I came on a weekend day too. Theaters are nice tho I wish they had reclining seats but that's just a minor issue. Smithfield cinemas is a good theatre based on location and that's really it. Seats are uncomfortable, the floors are usually slippery because of butter and drinks. More times than not the patrons are inconsiderate and kick the back of the chair. I only go when I don't want to drive far. read more

Ridiculous ticket process! They need to catch up with modern technology! We bought online tickets and got our bar code, but had to walk all the way from the ticket taker back to the complete other side of concessions to PRINT OUT the tickets. And, tickets are sold at concessions so even though we only wanted concessions, we had to wait in a really long winding line. Ugh! read more

Ive never been one to write a review about a place however this just struck me differently. I got to the theater at 620 to watch the new captain America movie that started around 7 something (mind you I got the early because I figured with it being so new it would be crowded so I wanted a good seat) and when we took our seats in the theater we were one of the first few people in there and there was a young lady with short black hair and a young gentleman cleaning , I'm not sure what kind of customer service I expected from movie theater cleaners I was expecting however I wasn't expecting her to be yelling to her co-worker across the room shooting off cusswords 20 miles a second while also talking about how tired she was as of her job also while continuously hitting her vape as she was cleaning the room. I'm not saying I won't come back I've always loved how friendly the front counter workers are but do better about who you hire and trust to clean your rooms... read more

This isn't my go to theatre. The inside is very outdated and it always has a very musty smell. However, it very convenient if I am at the outlets and can have a shopping and movie day. Also, prices are reasonable for tickets and for the concession stand. The staff is always very friendly and the bathrooms are always clean. read more

My daughter wanted to see a movie and this was the closest theatre to our hotel. We could actually see it from our hotel room. On their website they had Hop and Rio-3D. We decided on Hop since there was an extra $2.50fee for 3d movies. We got there 20min before the feature started and had ample time to find a good parking spot and visit the concession stand. It was a Saturday evening and they weren't busy which was odd. Box office experience was ok nothing special. We ventured into the lobby. It was big and bare. Most theatres I've been to have alot of posters and standees of upcoming movies and ongoing promotions to hold keep you busy as you wait for your movie to start seating. At the concession stand it was the same as box office but with one exception, she said hello and asked how we were doing. I inquired about the kids pack and she explained what came it. And we also got an extra drink popcorn and candy. The attendant took our order filled it but did not suggest anything else. The popcorn butter tasted burnt to I asked for fresher popcorn without butter. The drinks tasted good. On our way to the auditorium. There were a few employees on the hall way hugging each other and tickle fighting. They did not acknowledge us. I stood there for a few minutes and watched as 3 couples pass by and the employees were still jostling around. For safety there was a police officer by the ticket taker stand. The movie started on time. Clean picture and comfy seats. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. At the end of the movie an attendant came in to clean and he wished us a good night and thanked us for coming. Overall the experience was ok. I would return to this theatre if there was a movie I wanted to see. read more

I use to frequent this movie theatre a lot but the last few times were less than great. Twice we had to go point out the movie started without any picture playing. The last movie I went and saw, Aquaman, none of the ushers went and cleaned the theatre between the showings and it was filthy between the aisles. If this stuff keeps up, I will be going to White Oak more. read more

Update: they agreed to give us a refund finally! Original review:This company stole my children's money. Beware! The power went out shortly after the movie started. We live in a different state and so tickets for a future show would do us no good. They said we couldn't get a refund because the cash registers were down and to call the manager the next day. We called and talked to Keisha who then called the General manager, Ray. Their final determination was they can do nothing because it's a new business day! Really? That's theft! Can you imagine how much money they just made for nothing! Nothing they can do, though. So sad that they have no issue with stealing people's money and then just shrugging their shoulders. Don't pay cash! At least you may possibly dispute the charge later if this happens to you. Why would they not just have the power go out periodically to make some quick cash?? read more

First time at Smithfield Theatre today. Our Experience: Went to early showing, 10:30am. Two regular Theatre tickets $17.00 - Didn't buy food. The hallway has a light faint smell of urine. The theatre itself, called #1, has a very musky, basement like smell to it. The cushioned fabric seats feel cold and oily, one of them we saw, is ripped.. The commercials before the movie are ghetto. It's like a billboard flashing different local ads, I almost felt sorry for Smithfield Theatre. The lights are dimmed during the movie, but not shut off. The staff are super polite and friendly, so two stars instead of one. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would! My son has been so excited to see Black Panther Wakanda Forever so we decided to take him today. We get in the movie our showtime was 5:50, 5:50 comes around and nothing starts, no previews, the lights weren't dimmed, nothing just a black screen and upset customers. They end up getting the film on but start it half way through and we still had no sound. They literally showed us one of the most crucial parts of the movie since it started mid way and we had absolutely no idea what was going on. The manager didn't come in and tell us or nothing, us the customers had to leave the room and go tell them we couldn't hear anything and the movie started in the middle. He then proceeded to give us subtitles... like I'm sorry I didn't pay for damn subtitles. Manager ends up saying that he's going to give us a refund he is sorry but it's a software issue. We go to get our refund and I ask can I get a refund for my food since I just paid all this money and couldn't even enjoy my experience, he goes I can't legally do that. I'm like okay, I'm annoyed but whatever. Then he proceeds to refund us with a gift card after we said we would no longer go there because of the way he handled the situation. He said it's not a gift card with an attitude then proceeded to put the gift card down and put the money back on our debit card. Needless to say my sons first time experiencing the movies was terrible, the manager was extremely inconsiderate of everyone's frustration and was rude to say the least. FINALLY a good cinema in Smithfield! This movie theater is a pretty good place to catch the latest flicks. They offer a wide variety of showtimes for most of the latest movies. I've seen quite a few movies here, and so far, I've been thoroughly pleased. It's not as nice as some of the theaters in Garner or Raleigh, but it's still a good theater just the same. The staff is also really nice and very helpful, and the inside is always clean. The one thing that I find to be the most frustrating is the fact that the cup holders in the seats don't have bottoms. So don't try to put your keys, phone, candy, or anything else in the cup holders because it will fall right through. Besides that, I definitely would go here to see any movie, especially at a pretty affordable price. read more

Will not be returning. Hubby and I wanted to have a nice movie date, and we saw a matinee at 10:45am, because we hate going to crowded theaters and figure there wouldn't be a lot of people today due to the holiday and it being so early. And we were right. There was barely anyone there. However some stupid kids decided to sit in our row, about 5-6 seats down from us, and the entire time they were wrestling w/ some candy wrapper. I have no idea what candy they were trying to open, but apparently they must've gotten a bag that was super-glued shut, so of course when they finally got it open, whatever it was spilled all over the floor, sounding like a bag of damn marbles, making all sorts of racket. Now, this obviously is not the theaters fault these children were little @$$ holes and shame on their parents for raising them to be such rude little turds. However what was the theaters fault was having horrible $h1t audio. So the previews start, and the audio is blasting, and I mean way too loud even for a theater. I thought my ears were going to start bleeding. But once the actual movie started, the audio was way too low. I mean I could hear the movie as long as no one in the theater was making any noise, but the minute someone coughed, or made noise w/ their popcorn or candy wrappers, it was like that was the only thing in the theater you could hear. Usually we go to a different theater but because we wanted to go early this place had the movie we wanted at the time we wanted. Other theaters we've been to have had no issues w/ the audio being loud enough that it drowns out the other theater goers when they make noise. This place not so much, it's like they want you to leave in a pissed off mood. Now I know why this theater is always empty whenever I drive by it. If you want to see a movie the way it is supposed to be seen, do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else. read more

The matinee prices are decent at $7.50/person. The theater smells musty and is humid inside. It feels dirty. The women's bathroom looked dusty, but otherwise clean. The theater we are in for Deadpool 2 is fairly big. The seats are comfortable, but feel damp. But the air feels really humid inside. read more

me and my husband went last Friday to see Dope it was a very good movie we enjoy it I recommend everyone to see the movie it base on Malcolm a boy who went through life changing trying to find his way in the hood and then discover he could do anything with the help of the right people leading him in the right direction. it was comedy and plenty action so I went to see it. so if you are looking for something different to see check out dope love it read more

6-8-2019 Normally I have a good experiences at this theater. Well today's experience I doubt I'll be going back anytime soon. When I sat down I sat right in a pile of nacho cheese!! When I went to go talk to the general manager he didn't act like he cared. All he offered me were some paper towels and just said he was sorry but wouldn't even look at me. I told him that he needed to do a better job of keeping up with his employees. He didn't say a word and just walked away. That was very poor customer service!! When I returned to my seat my husband pointed out there were at least 5 other seats with cheese on them too. So I had to sit through the whole movie with nacho cheese on the back side of my shorts. Very uncomfortable!!! I think they need to retrain their staff on how to clean a theater in between movies. I'm very upset and won't be going back there if I can help it, I'll drive to a different theater in a different county if I have to. So I've learned never trust that a movie theater has been cleaned like it should be?? read more
