It is a mystery to me why Dave Sherman of Total Control Surveys doesn't have any reviews on Yelp…read moreyet. He is a gem. I would give him 10 stars if I could. My husband and I needed a survey of our yard with particular attention to a property line that adjoined a next door neighbor who is in the process of putting up a wall around his property. We had heard that the owner of the other house had mentioned removing our chain link fence because he thought it went over his property line. Initially we tried contacting the company that did the survey associated with our fence installation. They were totally useless stating they couldn't fit us in for 10 weeks, and they refused to share their original survey with us because it was over 3 years old. We wanted clarification of where the line was so that the wall and fence ended up in the correct locations. We were so lucky to find Total Control Surveys on Angie's List. Dave spent almost three days doing our survey- much more than he anticipated. Markers had been removed which forced him to go up and down the street trying to get accurate readings. In addition, other markers were covered over or difficult to measure due to heavy growth on our property. When he completed his work, Dave learned that our fence was, in fact on our property. Instead of just relaying this information to us, Dave made the extra effort to find our neighbor's survey through building permits. He learned that our neighbor's surveyor had made a mistake which showed the back portion of our fence in our neighbor's yard. Dave then contacted that surveyor and discussed it, giving him the chance to make a correction. The other surveyor went back out and did indeed admit that he had made an mistake, and that our fence was not over the property line. Dave had to make multiple calls and send many emails to the other surveyor who wasn't anxious to investigate this. His efforts were invaluable. Dave is a perfectionist who is wonderful to deal with. We would definitely use his services again, and we highly recommend him.

When DLS rep came back out was very matter a fact that they made a mistake and will fix it and send another copy. Said it happens once in a while the gps system they used didn't give accurate coordinates so my neighbors fence was fine after all (crisis averted) but when asked if they could restake the lines was told no that's an additional cost to come out despite having done the first survey incorrectly. Buyer beware..will post the before and after photos once we get the updated one. Makes for a good article (Kareen Kennedy -Assistant Editor -Florida National News )

After providing card information I was told that it would be an extra $100 to have a specific date set in stone and notified of the day that the survey would be completed. Needless to say, Rose, was exceptionally dry and rude. Even after just letting her know that I just needed them to call me when they were heading my way so that I could be on site. After more back-and-forth of her declining and claiming the site surveyors could not even provide a courtesy call when they were heading to my property I requested my card to be taken off file and to remove me from their schedule. I was immediately hung up on, with no response. I called back immediately and was met with an exceptionally nice Rose claiming we must have been disconnected. Obviously not the case, but I needed a verbal confirmation that the card would be removed. Had she just acknowledged she was removing the card and not hung up on me, I would not be writing this review, in spite of how unprofessional she is. We were out for the afternoon unaware they were coming. They surveyed the outside and they called the lawerys/ buyers, to say we forbid them entry. We don't ever leave the doors unlocked at our house. We have an attack dog and don't want her to get out, so we lock the doors. So the rescheduled, and then an hour after they were suppose to arrive my husband sitting here missing work waiting for them the said they had to reschedule. So, they rescheduled with our realtor for 4pm the. Changed it to 11am. The showed up 1 1/2 late with out even calling. Then they were rude and had an attitude. They also decided it was okay to smoke in side my house. When I asked them to refrain lets just say that went of well. I would never use them or recommend them for anything. No one understand why they needed to measure the courtyard, everyone we've spoken to says they've never seen that done befor. Was it the lawyers way of raising the bill? Campions also never would we reccomend them after this. We also were kind enough to give the buyers our survey, but the lawyers rejected it. Unreal!
