I…read morehave found that he doesn't take any responisbility for mistakes he makes, he is never on time, he is not up to date and makes uninformed statements about the tax rules or send wrong forms. And even if you send him tax information months before the filing deadline, he sometimes waits until the filing day to complete the return. All this happened to us in a 18 months working relationship. In his defense, he is a tax preparer, not a CPA, but he charges more than some CPAs for tax preparation. In detail: 1. Luis forgot to include a $30K deduction on my tax return which, had it not been detected by me, would have cost me several thousand dollars. Instead of apologizing for the oversight and offering to fix it immediately with an amended return, he asked me to come to his office to discuss it. By this time, I had already switched to a CPA. 2. My partner sent him his tax organizer in February so that his taxes could be completed well before the April rush. Instead, Luis asked him to come into his office on the afternoon of April 15 (the tax day itself) to sign the forms and pay for his services, leaving no time to review the return in detail. Luis was stressed because his software had failed on tax day, but luckily my partner was available to come into his office that afternoon, he was able to get the software working, and the tax return was filed before midnight on April 15. 3. Email replies take up to ten business days, according to his automatic response email. However, sometimes it can take weeks to get a response.

Frederiksen-Crawford has been doing our taxes for 4 years now and every single year they do a fantastic job leaving us consistently pleasantly surprised at the end of tax season. Our taxes are moderately complicated with some W2 stuff, some self-employment business stuff, rental property, property sales (capital gains), etc. and while some firms I have worked with in the past struggled to get it all correct and submitted on time, Frederiksen-Crawford has been meticulous about getting it all correct, on time every single year. They are professional, informative, easy to work with, diligent, and effective and make what could be a painful tax season feel fair and relatively painless. Thank you Frederiksen-Crawford!     Diabolical We were…read morelooking for a long term person to work on our taxes as expats from the UK, so we thought Chris would be the right person. We asked would they be able to take on our case before the tax deadline (a month or two before), they said they could and I pretty much provided all the documents needed in a few days. However a month or two later just before the deadline we were assigned to someone called Steven Daniel - he was without a doubt the absolute worst person we've ever dealt with in terms of client experience. He would ask us stupid questions like can we convert an image to a document for him to which I pointed out there are plenty of tools online for that. They filed an extension without telling us we would be liable for any interest. A month or so passes and they then start following up with questions saying they are nearly done. Another month passed and they upload the preliminary tax bill into their portal without telling us. The tax bill was a lot higher than expected, I clarified this with Chris, sent the money to the IRS and he said nothing more was needed. Another month passes and Steven emails us asking would we like to file the tax return. WTF Steven?!? The man is clearly an absolute imbecile and did not work out when I said we have paid the IRS (for which he was in the email) this means file the bloody return?!? I get a call from Chris apologising saying they will cover the interest. To this date I have never received this despite sending them the interest bill I paid off for several hundred dollars. For the luxury of all this madness, they charged me $1500. At that price I would be expecting a fairly high end service, this was beyond belief - I cannot fathom how they are happy to charge this for some of the worst professional service I have ever experienced. In short, steer clear unless you have more money than sense - if you hear the name Steven Daniel, run and do not look back.

Went in today to do a wire transfer. Only one person there, of course busy with someone. They told me to come back in an hour. Which is like the fifth time this sort of thing has happened. You're supposed to just spend your afternoon dropping in and out until hopefully someone is available. SO, I came back an hour later and the lady was available. So, I walked up and told her I wanted to do a wire transfer. Barely looking up, she just said, the deadline passed for today, you'll have to come back tomorrow. So yeah, I got pissed. So, I asked her, 'what am I supposed to do. Just keep dropping in and hope for the best.' She looked at me like was an idiot and say, 'yeah, I guess, I don't know. Speak to the manager.' Then she wouldn't even go and notify the manager. I finally did speak to the manager and basically go the same 'tough luck' message. 'Try another branch' was the best she could do. But the whole attitude was 'we don't care. don't bother us.' I'll be closing my account here shortly. What a horrible outfit. This is about the fifth experience of this kind there
