Dr. Smith is a doctor that really cares about her patients. She even called my wife at home on Mother's Day to see how she was doing.

Sad shd retired 3 or 4 years go. I am a health professional and exceptional care is very important to me. I had an appointment today . I arrived 1 or 2 minutes late and front staff had already gone to see if the " new" Dr. Davis would still see me. By the way the front office staff is the absolute best as far as caring, informative, friendly and all around absolute " dears"!!! I was told I had to reschedule!! I know patients being on time is important but in 38 years of practicing myself, I have NEVER told a patient to reschedule at 2 minutes late! As a matter of fact from a professional courtesy point of view, the staff should have never had to ask " if" I could still be seen. To each their own. . I have an appointment in 4 days and will consider whether to remain a patient at Family Care at Arbor Walk to honor the huge success Dr. Paula Davis (and Dr. Britton- Meilisch ) are now having.I also live in Overland Park so quite a drive to see a " great" doc Dr. Paula was ( she would have never told me to reschedule ) I thoroughly understand " running on time" and respecting appointment times plus the staff and patients'time and lastly " office policies" BUT 2 minutes late!!@*#!@!! But I will consider the professional courtesy that was not extended to me. 2 stars for today. Otherwise 5 stars for front office staff. 4 stars for Dr. Brityon- Meilisch( seen as an emergency at KU Medwest and Arbor Walk.

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Mike Ausmus for 30+ years. He was wonderful. Over the…read moreyears, though, St. Luke's primary care became worse and worse. The bureaucracy became impenetrable. Patients could not schedule an appointment without waiting months - even in an emergency or when post-hospitalization checkups where immediately needed. Patients could not call their doctors. The Central Scheduling office that handles all patient communication knows nothing about medical care, always says it will be 5 to 6 months to get an appointment, even in an emergency. And, the Urgent Care office is notoriously horrible; even St. Luke's doctors recommend going elsewhere. Since Mike retired it has become infinitely worse. We received a letter telling us we'd been "reassigned" to another doctor - like cattle. However, that was not true. When we called to make an appointment for an urgent issue, we were told we did not actually have a doctor. We would need to schedule a new patient appointment - 9 months later. I scheduled new patient appointments for each member of our family, and the doctor cancelled some of them and did not show up for the others. It's been a year now, and our children have not seen a doctor. St. Luke's management has lost its way. By putting up all these barriers between patients and doctors, they are effectively committing malpractice. I would strongly recommend choosing another primary care office.

Then they wanted to reschedule for next year. Next year??? I thought they were joking. I asked then what assurances I would have if I rescheduled the appointment. St. Lukes's said there is no guarantee any of their doctors will keep an appointment. How is this ethical behavior in the medical profession? Very disappointed.
