On August 25, 2026, I left a message requesting an appointment as my stomach pain had sharply increased. I called back on August 26, 2026 and was told the next available appointment was October 2026. I called back and asked if anyone could see me sooner, if there was a cancellation list,I could be on as I was unable to eat due to severe nausea and had lost 8 pounds since Monday. I was told no one could see me until October. On August 27, 2026, I was admitted into hospital through the emergency department at Lees Summit Medical Center. Before being discharged from the hospital, I requested help with a follow-up appointment. The case worker was able to make an appointment for September 8, 2026 at 10:30 am with Dr Beck. I arrived at my appointment with Dr Beck on September 8th at 9:45 am for my 10:30 am appointment. I waited in an empty waiting room until 11:01 am. At no time was I given any reason why I continued to wait 30 minutes after my appointment. I left without any medical follow-up. So if you want zero medical help so you have to go to emergency room - this is your practice !

In congress with an NPRN Robin Campbell, Sam, and Dr. Michael Bahl made the decision to force my husband to stop a dangerous drug cold-turkey. This is a drug which requires weaning off, not to be stopped suddenly. This has caused MAJOR issues with him physically and in our family. NONE OF THESE "medical professionals" care AT ALL! They are completely happy with the HARM they have caused him and my family. As I have been in the healthcare industry for over 35 years, I am SHOCKED at their behavior! Because it has been so egregious, we are taking this to our attorney and to the Missouri professional licensing and registration board. My family and I have been patients of Dr. Mike Ausmus for 30+ years. He was wonderful. Over the…read moreyears, though, St. Luke's primary care became worse and worse. The bureaucracy became impenetrable. Patients could not schedule an appointment without waiting months - even in an emergency or when post-hospitalization checkups where immediately needed. Patients could not call their doctors. The Central Scheduling office that handles all patient communication knows nothing about medical care, always says it will be 5 to 6 months to get an appointment, even in an emergency. And, the Urgent Care office is notoriously horrible; even St. Luke's doctors recommend going elsewhere. Since Mike retired it has become infinitely worse. We received a letter telling us we'd been "reassigned" to another doctor - like cattle. However, that was not true. When we called to make an appointment for an urgent issue, we were told we did not actually have a doctor. We would need to schedule a new patient appointment - 9 months later. I scheduled new patient appointments for each member of our family, and the doctor cancelled some of them and did not show up for the others. It's been a year now, and our children have not seen a doctor. St. Luke's management has lost its way. By putting up all these barriers between patients and doctors, they are effectively committing malpractice. I would strongly recommend choosing another primary care office.
