Honestly, it sounds like if you start NOW you won't have these issues. But if you were there for the changeover there may be some. But they were pretty chill on the phone. They also said they don't want their billing people to talk so curtly with patients, which was nice. So find a nice therapist there, but keep an eye on their web portals/billing. -- Old review: Their billing and customer service is atrocious. They cannot provide me with an explanation of why I have only received one emailed bill from them after being charged close to $300 in copays I didn't realize I was accruing. No explanation of their billing cycle, no apologies, just a repeated insistence that I pay. I have also have had to ask twice to see a complete itemized bill of my services, the bill they sent me is incomplete (something saying "BALANCE FORWARD" - but I never received a previous bill from them) but still expect me to pay it. I am still waiting on them to send me an itemized bill. I believe doctors offices are legally required to send completely itemized bills? Seriously, go somewhere else with a clear-cut billing department that can answer questions and actually send email or paper bills on a regular schedule. I'm literally not sure if this is legal, I have asked them if I consented to not receiving paper bills when I signed up for their online portal but no answer - which leads me to believe they don't know the answer to that question or I didn't. I've literally never had this issue with a doctor's office before. I have also repeatedly asked to speak to someone higher up in the billing department to share my concerns (or the head of the practice) and have no way of knowing if that request is being taken seriously. Just radio silence and emails that just say I have to pay the amount. Super, super, super weir

There was one RN who was very rude. Her name was Diana. She humiliated me on more than one occasion. She was very unprofessional. All the other nurses were very pleasant and helpful. The milieu therapists were all very helpful. I am thankful that I got treatment at Western Psychiatric Hospital. It literally saved my life.

Then, to top it off, the psychiatrist told my 10 yr old that "studies show institutionalizing children for mental health actually does them more harm than good", "you could get hurt here. We cannot always protect you because some of the other patients are aggressive and could try to hurt you... "they are fast, so we can't always prevent it". She was speaking to my 10 year old this way. Then she took me into the other room, and told me my autistic, adhd, OCD 10 yr old could be faking. I asked which part, and she said "It's a differential". But when I asked what her what she had for other differentials, she couldn't say more than "I won't not be the one treating her on the floor so..." REALLY AWFUL! I believe this lady was either having a bad day or really needs to get out of this line of work. Given, I would NOT want to be in that place WORKING either, due to the smell itself! This doctor had an inappropriate discussion with my daughter (the patient). I won't bring my child (or anyone I know) to this place. Believe the reviews! I did try to ask for a different psychiatrist, but the one working with us told me that they "don't do that here", so I told her to discharge us and we left. UPMC needs to check on the staff in this ER for THEIR happiness and comfort in their roles. My bet is this woman was MISERABLE and maybe doesn't work with kids. The nurses were great, and security staff was on it. I don't know why this doctor chose to be so weird and it my kid and I. NO PARENT WANTS their kid to be hospitalized... but an institution is better than dead. Come on UPMC, you can do better than this! Disappointing.

A counselor (in this case, just a social worker) would make a recommendation for how to continue treatment with another provider but it seems as though Taffie is not invested in the well-being of her clients, at least not my well-being. She wasted my time with an appointment and also unnecessarily billed my insurance for services she's not capable of providing. Irresponsible and unprofessional. The unexpected email she sent me this evening took my breath away as I was teleworking -- completely inappropriate.
