We hired him two months ago to do a variety of things to our 100-yr old home in Cow Hollow: -rebuild front steps & entryway, including installing a new front door -install crown moulding on our main floor -rebuild deck in backyard -repair and replace dry rot at various locations on exterior of the house -a variety of smaller projects throughout the house As you can tell, it was a variety of interior/exterior projects, and Rich absolutely hit it out of the park. In the three years that we've owned our home, I'd been through more than 5 contractors before we found Rich. I can't recommend him highly enough. Let me tell you specifically why: 1. Attention to detail & quality of work -The finish work that Rich does is as good as I've ever seen. Every night we would come home and there would be no evidence that Rich had been there that day - no dust, no specks of paint, no tools left behind. Just the evidence of progress made on the job. Awesome. 2. Trustworthiness -We left Rich with a key to our house, not only while we were gone at work every day, but while we were away in Europe for two weeks 3. Guarantees -One of the boards that Rich installed on our front steps began to warp days after being installed. Not at all a problem with Rich's work, but a faulty piece of lumber. Regardless, Rich tore up the board and replaced it the next day, all at no additional cost and with no questions asked. 4. Customer-oriented & professional -All of Rich's quotes were sent to me as PDF's in email and clearly outlined in detail the proposed work. Following the job, he sent me an invoice. All very professional and customer-oriented. 5. Price -We sought out three bids for the work that we wanted done, and Rich was very competitively priced. Incredible value for money. Based on reviews and initial conversations we felt confident in moving forward. Staff was friendly but unfortunately MANY things happened that have left our family in disbelief of how a company could treat us like this. -Timeline was hard to get from them. Coming and going was not communicated well. We were constantly asking when people would be coming and going. We felt like we had to project manage things ourself. -Many drywall issues. Even when bringing issues to their attention as soon as we saw them, the proceeded to try to cover them up rather than fix them correctly. This happened 3 separate times. -Paint was put on very poorly with glops in some areas and also some areas completely missed. Nail holes not filled. Everything looked rushed or just lack of care. -One of their workers hit our neighbors mailbox with his car (all on camera) completely knocking it apart and tried to drive off and not get caught. Took MANY conversations to get them to properly repair this. This worker also did our drywall and painting so we are not surprised the lack of effort put into the work. -Did not properly protect the room or items inside from construction debris. We had to go out an buy material to cover our carpet, furniture, TV and flooring to proceed them when they came back to try to fix things as they made zero effort. -LVP floors in the room they worked in were damaged with a few small dents. -We had to get the carpet on our stairs steam cleaned as they tracked so much debris through our home our vacuum could not pull it all up. To conclude this job as they came back for the 3rd time and still could not fix things as we asked, I asked for a $900 refund to cover getting things fixed correctly and hiring a cleaning company. They countered at $500 OR offered to come back for a 4th time. We just wanted this to end and be done so we took the $500 refund offer. They have now ghosted us with no refund. I have called and text and nobody is getting back ahold of us.
