America's Best Gutter responded a day or so later, but Cliff was so pleasant on the phone we wanted to see what he could do. We hadn't planned on adding gutter guards, but he mentioned that the prices were about to go up and gave us a total for everything that was actually better than the next company that was pricing only the gutters. Cliff explained everything, showed us the product we was going to use, and it was clearly as good as or better than the competitors. His pricing was much better than the "big box" stores. It was an easy decision to use America's Best Gutters. They showed up right on time, worked straight through without a break, and left the yard absolutely spotless. Jon refused to talk to me and blocked me after I texted him to save him from driving an hour to fix a problem on a Sunday! He said it was the only day he had available. We had to get another gutter service to correct his gutter issues because he couldn't make them hold water! Then it rained and my new roof freaking leaked so bad I had to use a pot due to rain water was pouring through the ceiling air vent and other water damage around the left side & front of the Fire place. I put this on Facebook, Nextdoor & filed a complaint to Yelp & the BBB because this company refuses to compensate me for the damage they caused to my ceiling & are ghosting me. Let me begin by stating that I was referred to this company and its owner, Jay, by a good friend…read more They had no idea that the person they knew was such a poor businessperson. After my friend's recommendation, I called Blue Fox Roofing to inquire about an estimate for a complete roof replacement. During our initial conversation, I informed him that the company that was already working on other projects on my property was fully expected to handle the roofing as well. When I called, he assured me that he could do a better job and even offered to include some extras if I chose his company. I mentioned the other company and that my insurance would cover the new roof. I provided him with the insurance company's price for all roofing-related work. He was fine with this and expressed his willingness to complete the job immediately. Since he was a professional roofer, he assured me that the job would be done correctly. I provided him with all the details that the insurance company had given me, and he reiterated that he was the right person for the job. However, during our conversation with Jay, my wife signed a contract with the other company without knowing that I was seeking this alternative bid. Consequently, I found myself under contract with the other company. Jay informed me that I had three days to cancel that contract, and if I did, he could start the job immediately. After having several conversations with my wife, I decided to cancel the first contract. The next morning, I called Jay and left a message stating that the previous contract had been canceled and that we were ready to proceed with his company. I asked him to let me know what steps we needed to take to set the job start date. I did not hear from Jay for over six hours when I called him again and explained that I was ready to move forward with his company. To my surprise, he responded that there was no reason to return my first call because the job did not pay enough for him to be interested in it. He even suggested that if I could convince the insurance company to increase its payment, he would call me back. I was shocked and felt betrayed. Now, without a roofer, I had burned the first bridge and foolishly believed in his lies and deceitfulness. Today, I am without a roof or roofer, but I am determined to find a solution. However, I will never work with companies like Blue Fox Roofing, NC. I wanted to warn others about the potential pitfalls they may encounter when dealing with this company.
