Yesterday, my wife and I were in the area looking for some local goodies as Christmas presents and made our way into Hip & Humble. The outside is very inviting-I love the color of the house-turned-retail building. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by Mabe, the beautiful resident dog. She happily sniffed us, let us pet her and then she went back to her duties of wandering the store. Any place that has a dog is A-OK in my book! Each item in the shop appears to have been carefully curated to be here. Nothing seems out of place or odd. I love every item and how cohesive everything feels. Up front, you'll find an assortment of knick-knacks, home goods, soaps & lotions, etc. Toward the back is a room full of unique women's clothing and accessories. The owner visited with us briefly and we felt very welcome to be there. It's a fun atmosphere with adorable items. I look forward to returning for additional gift items in the future.

She indicated that I was too late to return or exchange. She could even get up off her perch to see if their was one that I could buy (and sell the other one on Posh Mark). Unbelievable! It's not like I've waited until February to bring something back. Koo De Ker should mark on their labels their return policy on gifts! As I left I said, "I guess I won't be back, but you don't even care". Her response was "no I don't". I get it! It's a small boutique store but SERIOUSLY! I would suggest to the owner to do a little training. But then again, perhaps she doesn't CARE either.

Brands are higher end and priced as such: Wildfox, Free People, BB Dakota, ASTR, MinkPink, etc. Lots that I like, but that I can find priced lower elsewhere (though, on my most recent visit, they had a small rack of sales goods). Of course, there is something to be said for shopping local. The dressing rooms were especially attractive. There was just one girl working, and she wasn't overly helpful, but friendly enough. It truly is a pretty store, and while I would not seek it out as a particular destination, would be worth stopping by now and then when in the area.

Caitlin Andrew was with me every appointment from the initial consultation/design phase to the fittings and alterations. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, helping break down all the subtle nuances and details that go into making a custom suit. This was my first time ever getting a custom suit, and I'm so happy that Caitlin was able to help bring my dream suit to life. Review of Nordstrom Rack - Salt Lake City (11/22/2025) On…read moreSaturday, November 22, 2025, I was shopping at the Nordstrom Rack in Farmington and realized they didn't have the size I needed in a pair of Max Studio pants. When I got home, I called the Salt Lake store to see if they might have them. The woman they connected me with in the women's department--around 5:00 PM--was incredibly helpful. She checked the computer, saw the pants were not available online, and kindly asked if I would hold while she had someone check the floor. She not only found the pants in the size I needed, but also located the matching jacket. I was so grateful for the time and effort she put in. Since they weren't able to hold the items, I drove from Layton to the Salt Lake store right away. Fortunately, the items were there when I arrived, and I was able to make my purchase. (My purchase experience is a different story--see separate review.) Thank you, Nordstrom, for training your employees so well. This young lady was efficient, attentive, and just as capable as the staff at the full-line Nordstrom stores. Her help truly made my day.

This location has a lot of clearance and big mark downs. Some things are a little more expensive, but they are still way less than at the normal department store. The lady checking us out moved slowly and continued to push us to buy the Nordstrom credit card after we repeatedly said no. A little annoying but no biggie since I know it's her job.

And that's what Madewell is really all about. All their clothing is fab: classic, mostly simple, comfortable, and flattering, but their denim is about as close as you can get to the Holy Grail of jeans. They fit so perfectly and are made so well (ha!). Seriously, though. It's dreamy as can be. They also offer a few bath and body products, candles, cards, accessories, and simple, modern jewelry. It's worth joining their (free) rewards program for various special sales and gifts. I especially like this location for it's size and generous selection.
