Super unprofessional. Also have never seen a bartender fill a shot glass 3/4ths the way to the top when measuring a drink, then get defensive & call a patron the b word after being called out on it. Not sure if all the other bartenders are as entitled and rude as the blonde one whose face didn't move & reeked of cigarettes, but if I were you I'd avoid this place.

In 3rd grade our son was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia. We lived in an area that did not…read morehave services to remediate his learning challenges and as parents we felt hopelessly lost. Through research, interviews with staff and families that attended TLS, and a very brief visit, we immediately knew this was going to be just what our son needed. We came here with the intention of staying only 2 years, however the school provided such a rich learning and supportive community for both our son and us, that we decided to stay at the school through 8th grade and then attend a local high school. The staff and students became family. The staff at Liberty was amazing. What they do, they do not do in a bubble. Families are a part of the process and are kept informed of the educational goals, processes, and progress. The doors are always open to speak with the Head of School, teachers, and tutors. Families are encouraged to get involved and the school provides quite a bit of training and education to families so they can best understand their child's learning challenges and strengths. Success story: Success can be measured in so many ways, for our son it was developing self confidence and an absolute LOVE of learning. After attending Liberty for 5 years, he was incredibly successful in High School, understanding how to use his strengths and advocate for himself. He developed an incredible love of reading and writing. In his first year of college, he is transferring those skills learned at Liberty, and honed in High School with grace. We feel blessed to have found this little school in the beautiful mountain town of Durango, Co. The area is rich with southwestern culture and TLS brings that richness to the forefront of its learning. Students explore the rich traditions, history, and heritage of the area and use the surrounding mountains as a place for students to connect with nature, its people, and its history.

The Liberty School helped me tremendously as a child. I had always struggled with reading and…read morewriting and had to attend extra intervention classes throughout my elementary school years. It always made me feel different from the other kids, like I didn't quite belong. One day, my mom told me we were moving to Durango, Colorado, so I could attend the Liberty School, a school that specialized in teaching kids with dyslexia. I was so nervous and scared. I thought I was going to be "that kid" who couldn't read and had to take additional classes in a completely different part of the building. It was anything but that. The Liberty School was -- and still is -- one of the most inviting and supportive environments a child could ever experience. From day one, I could tell it was going to be different. Instead of being the kid with a learning disability who couldn't read or write, I was just a kid. Everyone there understood me. No one made fun of me, and no one made me feel out of place. I made many new friends (most of whom I am still close with today). Liberty taught me not only how my brain works and why I learn differently, but also that it's okay to take a little longer to figure things out. That lesson alone changed my confidence completely. One of the biggest things Liberty did for me was introduce me to the world of film. There, I learned how to write, shoot, and edit my very first short film with my friends. Because Liberty sparked my newfound passion for film and video production, I now own a production company and have had the opportunity to work on Hollywood films -- doing something I love every single day. Overall, my experience at the Liberty School was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Not only did I discover a passion that shaped my career, but I also learned an even more important lesson: just because your brain works a little differently doesn't mean you can't accomplish anything you set your mind to.

I accidentally wound up here while looking to force an appreciation for the great outdoors in a…read morerugged mountain cabin on Airbnb. I was pretty surprised to see this was a fancy hotel resort. There is a great view of nature from the 5th floor lofts. You can't necessarily touch it though. So in order to get our outdoor family adventure in, we walked across the parking lot to the fountain ponds on the side of the road. "ahh take it in kids. That there's fresh mountain air, and that there's an RX-350 SUV!" We went swimming. The floor was gross. They need to have a no-shoe policy. It was really just muddy and hairy. You really want to bring flip flops to avoid pathogens as the joint is too upscale for the traditional plastic shopping bags on the feet with bungee cords. The big pool was colder than normal. You never really got acclimated even after moving around vigorously under water. There is this great feature where you can swim under a wall and be outdoors. The sky looks amazing right at sunset. Would be incredibly romantic if not for the extremely cold temperature of the water. I noticed in other reviews there were some complaints about kids in the hot tubs... well if the pool were a little warmer, the kids wouldn't want or need to be in the hot tub. They simply can't stand the cold for very long. The room was just like your rugged cabin should be with a jacuzzi, wet bar, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and Netflix.

While the ski hill looks promising, we didn't get a chance to try it out. The price is very cheap($16 I think?) and if u are a beginner, I highly recommend coming here to practice rather than spend $60-$80 on lift tickets at the resort. They also have tubing on the other side. Lots of options so that was a plus. Now the ice skating rink...so the first thing that threw me off is that the concession stand and the rentals AND the returns are at the same place. So basically it comes down to, do u believe the kids working at the concession/rental actually wash their hands before handling your food? Mmm...Secondly, they were so short of skates I had to opt for men skates, then different sizes, etc. A bit ridiculous if u ask me. They were very old and to top it off the laces don't match. Now, I'm not trying to be dramatic but I lived in the northeast so I've ice skated weekly during the winter growing up. I believe I'm pretty credible to critique. Also, they don't check to see if u have paid. U basically just go in, so if I brought my own skates and I don't pay, no one would know any different! The lockers are cubbies so they are free but also open to the public. Now to the ice! They do not groom this ice! At least once mid-session, they should roll out the ice machine and groom it! It felt like the roads in mexico - bumpy! So, my suggestions for the city of durango, charge people properly and make sure they pay, charge for locker rentals, up sell food and invest that money towards better maintenance of your facility! Good luck!
