Because of a previous poor experience with this office, I decided to get a second opinion and thank God I did. I went to another office in Surprise, and I paid $32.90 for the exact same cleaning. My last visit here was in July for a regular cleaning. My appointment was at 3:30, the hygienist was running late, and somehow I was still out of there before 4:00. It felt extremely rushed. I repeatedly called trying to speak with the office manager about my concerns, but no one was ever available and I never received a call back. Today, the dentist at the new office told me my teeth look like they haven't been properly cleaned in two years, which was honestly shocking considering I had just been there in July for a cleaning. What's even more frustrating is the lack of accountability. When I brought up my concerns, the response was basically, "We've had a lot of turnover all we can do it move on." That doesn't excuse poor care or poor communication. I trusted these "professionals." Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion before spending thousands of dollars here. I'm very glad I did.

However, the office polices of cancellation have caused me to seek another dental office. They charge a $75 cancellation fee regardless of the reason, including sickness, if you have confirmed an appointment previously. They said they have proper PPE and offered to come in later in the day, but the bottom line is they want sick people to come into their office. As a sick person this is unfortunate, but coming to an office healthy with potentially sick folks around is really not acceptable.

ONE STAR -- GET A SECOND OPINION BEFORE AGREEING TO ANY MAJOR DENTAL WORK HERE…read more I had been a patient at Desert Smiles Dentistry and went in on August 4, 2026 for nothing more than a routine six-month cleaning and X-rays. I left being told that I needed crowns or veneers on my four front teeth because, according to the dentist, I had been "cracking my teeth good" I was shocked. I had Invisalign three years ago, religiously wear my retainers, have always taken excellent care of my teeth, and have never had any significant issues with my front teeth. I've even done teeth modeling because of the appearance of my smile. The dentist pointed out visible lines on my front teeth and specifically told me these were new and that he had never seen them at my previous six-month visit. He then had his front office provide me with a quote for FOUR crowns. I was also told that if I decided to move forward with his proposed treatment plan, I could receive a discount because, ironically, the practice was having "Crown Week" at the end of August. He even told me that another dentist would probably try to convince me to crown my entire upper mouth. Thankfully, I did not agree to anything and immediately sought a second opinion. I was evaluated by another dentist today, and the difference in professional opinion was astounding. She explained that what I had been shown were craze lines -- common lines that naturally develop in teeth over time, similar to wrinkles as we age. She explained that the lines were internal rather than external, told me my teeth were essentially in excellent condition, and said she would not recommend doing anything to them at this time. She further explained that perhaps decades from now, as I reach my 60s or 70s and normal wear progresses, veneers might become an appropriate cosmetic option. She specifically did not recommend crowns on my healthy front teeth now. What makes this even more concerning is that during my 12-year-old daughter's previous routine cleaning at Desert Smiles, we were also told that she needed an expander. She has since been evaluated and treated by an orthodontist and got braces this summer. An expander was never recommended as part of her orthodontic treatment... Recommending four crowns on someone's front teeth is not a minor suggestion. Crowns require permanently altering natural tooth structure. Had I simply trusted this recommendation without questioning it, I could have undergone significant, irreversible dental work that another dentist believes is completely unnecessary. The fact that I was presented with a four-crown treatment plan, given a quote by the front office, and then informed about a "Crown Week" discount only added to my discomfort with the entire experience. Based on my family's experiences, I have completely lost confidence in this practice. I strongly encourage anyone who receives a recommendation here for expensive or invasive dental treatment to get an independent second opinion before agreeing to anything. We will absolutely not be returning to Desert Smiles Dentistry.

She has the latest technology for everything and she is able to do scans and investigate beyond your teeth and up into your face and head and neck with the technology that she uses so you can actually find completely hidden infections or damage that normally cannot be seen by a regular dental exam or x-rays. She was able to find a chip in one of my upper vertebrae that I sustained from a car accident in the past as well as a hidden infection above one of my teeth in my sinus area that nobody else had spotted from an old filling that had been replaced incorrectly by a prior dentist. It wasn't even bothering me but there it was on the scan. I would have NEVER found out otherwise! If you have hidden infections or damage from an old filling or even hidden metal that you can't see with the naked eye, there is no other dentist that could find that other than Dr. Loud. She knows how to remove and correct these things safely and with your health at the forefront and uses safe and proper methods to remove metal fillings. Most dentists don't even protect your body when they remove metal fillings and all of that mercury gets released into your body causing damage that can continue on for years. She also knows the connection between your teeth and your organs. Did you know that every tooth connects to a different organ, gland or tissue in your body and she has a chart that can show you which teeth connect to the different parts of your body because a problem in a tooth can be causing totally different symptoms somewhere else in your body! I am a naturopathic practitioner myself and I send all of my patients to her. Every single one of them has been blown away by their experience with her. If you want to be sure your teeth are being handled in the best way for your overall health, there is no other dentist to see. She is the whole package! This is not the dentist for you if you are a basic patient that doesn't have serious dental issues or need cosmetic surgery or appliances. They don't take care of you or treat you if you aren't making money . The only bright spot is the front desk and the hygienists who are excellent despite the dentists being inattentive and uncaring. I switched to this dentist (Dr Bri) several years ago after moving here and having a multi year relationship with my prior dentist. While Dr Bri was fine at the beginning, everything became progressively worse over time. This office is a money making machine that only cares about selling you cosmetic dentistry and services you don't need. They did this to me and my kids, each of us getting separately estimates for 20k of cosmetic work every time you go in for a tooth cleaning. Another friend left the practice after having the same experience. I stayed on bc I felt it was fine to say no to cosmetic work but ultimately was relegated to worse and worse service. Several times, and maybe all of the last four visits, I had to ASK to see the actual dentist. They tried to send me on my way after the hygienist cleaning. I was asked if I had a particular issue and said- no I just think the dentist should look at your teeth during a dental exam. Terrible customer service. Worse, last time I was there, they had someone who I don't think had ever seen a tooth doing flossing and other basic work (it wasn't the hygienist). She kept skipping teeth and had no clue what she was doing. It was almost like a joke. Then when I asked to see the dentist, I found out she wasn't even there that day. Why even schedule me for an appointment? It was ridiculous and the final straw. Side note: They also refused to send X-rays to my oral surgeon bc I wouldn't sign up with their surgeon who wasn't covered by my insurance. My surgeon had to take new X-rays. What a racket. Again The only reason for not giving one star are the front desk and hygienists who are excellent. I consider the dentist a long term and personal relationship. I went to this office for years and had absolutely no relationship with Dr Bri. The customer service is poor unless you need major work done. Find another office if you are just an ordinary person with good teeth that need to be cleaned.
