Absolutely perfect care. I just moved to STL, was in need of a dentist and they got me right in! They did an incredibly thorough job, explained all procedures, their purpose, what it means for me now vs. in the future. The hygienist I was with (Ellie) was an absolute treasure. I have been seeing Dr. Hill for almost 20 years. I have never had an unpleasant experience with him or any of the dental hygienists or even a billing situation,. Even now that I live 20 miles away it's worth it for me to drive the extra distance to receive the great care that I've come to expect. Friendly and welcoming staff the second you walk in and make you feel comfortable during the dental work. Dr. Hawkins was professional and did a wonderful result of my replacement for a chipped veneer. They gave options but did not push getting additional work. Such a disappointment! I had the most wonderful dentist for the last 35 years! Dr. David Cappetta. He sold his practice to this group and retired this year. Good for him! Not so good for those of us left here. This practice no longer cares about service, just $$. They would not file "Pretreatment authorization" forms, saying they are not accurate as far as what will be paid. I had to do this myself. This took 6 weeks due to the failure of the dentist to provide the insurance information needed to process the authorization. Oh well, the work had to be done so I went ahead. I had to pay $5500, up front; the day treatment began. I filed a claim with my insurer and waited a week for the claim to be processed only to find out Dr. Hill had filed a claim asking to be reimbursed! When I called the office i was told "this was a courtesy they provide" ..WTF! (insurance fraud to bill for services you have already been paid for?) I asked for a check for the insurance proceeds and was told they had not been paid. (a lie). I was told they would issue me a check as soon as they received payment from the insurance company. it could take 7 to 10 days. Again, i waited. 14 days later, i called my insurance company and was told they check to Dr. Hills office had cleared the bank 21 days ago. @##! So, I called Dr. Hills office. At this point I no longer felt the need to be polite. (yes, that is not the way to behave but really!?!) I shared what I had been told by the insurance company and demanded reimbursement immediately. I was told that they only process refunds once a month (what happened to "immediately" ?). They would deposit it into my checking account at that time. Two things, first they never had my checking information's, second, I was not waiting until the end of the month. They had been using my money for 22 days at this point and I was done! I threatened to involve the BBB and the Missouri state Department of Consumer Protection. She said she would issue the credit to my credit card immediately. Comic note. I paid with 2 cards. My flex pay which had to be used by the end of the year and a credit card. She refunded my flex pay card! At this point I am not sure if she is just screwing with me or they are that totally incompetent! I would avoid this dentist unless you are simply doing something cosmetic and will not need to use insurance in any way! read more

Expensive, and they won't work with your insurance provider to lower the cost. They will lie to your face in order to get more money from you. There are better dentists in St. Louis . Avoid this one at all cost. read more

I have never left a review before but felt compelled to in hopes of preventing others from receiving the treatment I did and wasting thousands (I'm talking 6 grand) of dollars here. Please consider another business for your TMJ/dental needs. In short, I've never encountered a more deceiving, dishonest, manipulative, and falsifying business. I naively paid thousands up front for a service that I was very nervous about, but due to years of pain and the very pushy and manipulative sales tactics of the staff members I gave in. When it did not work, and I voiced my concerns with the grueling, time consuming process. I was told it was my fault due to my inflexibility for appointments (despite 5 months of returning for 3 hour appointments that were only supposed to be 90 minutes), and scolded for this lack of flexibility due to being a full time working mother. I will note that the excessive amount of appointments was not relayed to me at the time of signing the financial contract. I was given a much more laid back timeline - because they are not going make it sound miserable and all consuming if they are asking you for thousands of dollars right? Despite the process not consistently working, I was constantly being pushed to spend another 14,000 dollars on the next step. Why would I spend more money when the first step wasn't working? They proceeded to quote a survey I took months prior that said I had been feeling better for 2 weeks. Who in their right mind would spend $14,000 because 3 months earlier you felt better for 2 weeks? A treatment should work consistently for at least 2 months before you invest in a permanent change to your bite. It made absolutely no sense and I am livid that they used a subjective survey from 3 months prior against me. They also blamed the treatments ineffectiveness on me cancelling many appointments. I have never cancelled an appointment and have no idea where they came up with this. I actually made MORE appointments than what was I initially recommended because I was in so much pain with the new bite. Appointments were repeatedly cancelled for me by staff despite me asking them to keep them for me in case I had issues. The falsifying of information is just baffling to me. This business prioritizes making money over ethical medical treatment. They have repeatedly proven to me that they are condescending, deceiving, and a dishonest business. Please consider another team as there are many out there who are honest (and whose prices reflect their expertise level- as this businesses prices do not), put their patients first, and treat their customers with respect.
