The waiting area has tablets for the kids, books and movies along with a refreshment station for the adults. In each exam room they also provide tablets and have the TVs mounted on the ceiling to distract even the wildest of kiddos...I know, because mine is one of the wildest.

The dentist let us know they wouldn't be able to fix her teeth until the following Wednesday. My daughter was already very upset and self-conscious about her appearance, so hearing that was hard for her. Since it was already after 2pm on a Friday and time was limited, I stepped out briefly (about 5-10 minutes) to call other dental offices to see if anyone could help sooner. During that time, while my daughter was being attended to, the front desk staff came and told me I needed to check out immediately. The tone felt unnecessarily impatient and somewhat aggravated. I politely asked if I could make one more quick call given the circumstances and timing, but I was again told I had to check out right away. I understand offices have policies and schedules to maintain, but the lack of empathy and communication in that moment was disappointing--especially given that my child was visibly distressed. If there was a reason for the urgency, it would have gone a long way to simply explain it in a calm and respectful way. Overall, while the dentist was professional, the front desk interaction left a negative impression during what was already a stressful situation.

And while nothing about going to the dentist is comfortable, I at least felt confident that while here, my teeth were being treated well, I wasn't getting scammed out of my money, and they truly cared about me...well, my mouth, at least. :) The assistants were wonderful and sweet, and the dentist actually surprised me with his "next-door neighbor" demeanor. A nice guy. I ended up getting my teeth cleaned but then went back and got them to replace a cap on a chipped tooth. They did a fantastic job and really paid attention to detail. I've already recommended them to friends and I certainly recommend them to anyone who asks.

I have been going to Wolken Family Dental for at least 10 years now. Dr. Chris is my dentist and I…read morehave been extremely happy with the services he has provided. I see some negative reviews posted here so I felt compelled to give a little of my story. Unfortunately, I've had an issue with grinding my teeth for the vast majority of my life. I have more crowns than I'd like to admit and they've all been done by Dr. Chris. I also had an implant done by an oral surgeon where Dr. Chris only supplied the crown for the implant. That implant failed twice (don't worry I understand that it's extremely rare). Dr. Chris worked with me through the process and in the end he had to place a fixed bridge over the missing tooth. He then worked with on the cost of the bridge since I had already paid for a crown that was no longer valid. I'm reading these reviews that make it seem like the Wolken's do not have their patients' best interests at heart and I beg to differ. I spend more time at the dentist's office than most people and Dr. Chris has never been anything but understanding and reasonable with my care. Because I have so many issues I've had the pleasure of meeting with other dentists and oral surgeons throughout St. Louis in an attempt to address my grinding and because of insurance issues. Every last one of those dentists have praised my dental work. I have a significant amount of gold and Dr. Chris installed all of it. To hear another dentist ask, "Who placed all of this gold? They did a great job," really makes me smile. They have no reason to compliment anyone else's work. The fact they do lets me know it was done correctly and will benefit me for years to come. I believe Dr. Chris offers amazing care. I enjoy the office and the staff. The office is very modern and state of the art. I was recently notified that the office would no longer be accepting my insurance but I still come here out of network because I truly do believe Dr. Chris is great and I appreciate all he's done for me. If you think someone is out to get your money, go somewhere else. You'll see . . . . Keep up the good work, Wolken Dental. I'll be back as long as you'll have me!

One of my front two teeth were filled by Dr. Farmer which lasted 10 years. Once one of the new crew filled it, it broke or chipped at least 5 times in different places when I was eating regular foods only a few weeks later. Once Dr. Spring herself fixed it, it has chipped even more, stained terribly, they worked on a tooth that did not need it, really bad experience.
