I saw two dentists here in Playa del Carmen and one in Cancun and I was on 5 rounds of antibiotics and they did 6 (yes, 6) treatments on a fractured molar where it got even more fractured. I was in excruciating pain. I researched this clinic and all the doctors here. Even though they have great reviews, I hope anyone that can read this will appreciate the traumas I have been through and how sick I was feeling. Dr Esteban calmly explained what was going on and decided to go on this journey of healing, I knew I lost my molar and it needed to be extracted. I had a panic attack just before, he got a blanket for me and he was so gentle and calm and put me at ease. Molar was extracted, which followed 2 weeks of pain, infection and more antibiotics, I really thought I would never feel great ever again. But I did. After two weeks of no eating, I needed more work done... in a matter of a month, I had a tooth extraction, bone grafting, cleaning, one endodontic procedure, fillers... I wanted to wait a little before I wrote this review because today, I am smiling, I have zero pain, my gums are healthy again, I can smile and I am just so blessed and grateful for you guys! I look forward to continuing my journey (I want to get braces, fix more cavities, get an implant) and I finally feel I am in great hands. Total extraction and implant (x4) = 25,825 pesos or ~$1,500 usd EACH Resin Filling for cavities (×7) = 1,780 pesos or ~$99 usd EACH Numbing for procedure = 1,000 pesos or ~$55 usd This location is ONLY certified to do cleanings, surface fillings and teeth whitening. ALL other dental work is outsourced to someone else (even xrays have to be done elsewhere). This is basically a sales office and tooth whitening clinic for tourists. We did get take their advice and get the 3D xrays FROM ANOTHER VENDOR; this place can only do small segment xrays (1 tooth at a time). 3D xrays from a different vendor are CASH ONLY and full 3D (top and bottom) = 1,600 pesos (~$90 usd). You get the xrays on a cd and can take it anywhere in the world *thumbs up* After getting a 2nd opinion from another well-known local dentist... They went over the 3D xrays tooth by tooth with us and found NOT 7 cavities, just 2. We found NOT 4 extractions + 4 implants; instead: 1 extraction, 1 crown replacement (cosmetic) and 2 root canal/crowns TOTAL. It's not a good sign when you hear that a place is NOT even certified to do all the work of a dentist, but instead call themselves a "dental spa". This place is is good for a chipped tooth and tooth whitening while in vacation (no wait), but you will be paying prices like home.

I've been visiting him for over a year when my husband and I travel there. I've had EXTENSIVE work done, including implants, front veneers to look better- but needed also to repair that area, and an extraction. He is gentle, kind and very knowledgeable. He cares for his patients and his quality of work. He does a great job with keeping you numb and can use gas if needed. My only wish would be to add iv sedation as an option. I feel like his team could get more done faster (since I get so anxious) and I wouldn't need to be awake. The gas is tricky for me- I have a deviated septum so it's not as effective for me. But he goes out of his way to keep you as comfortable as possible. It's different than in California but well worth it. There is no way I could get this amount of work done at home due to price. Dr Victor has saved my teeth and I'm almost finished with catching up. One more visit in 6 months after adding one last needed implant this trip. But- at least I'm now at the point where I can be at a maintenance level (with exception of the one implant that is healing). I highly recommend!!!! I consider him very trustworthy and a friend now.

What I thought would be a simple procedure almost cost me my life. I had a extreme dental pain after my dental procedure and became sick in a way I had never experienced before. I went back to the dentist, he examined the tooth he had worked on and said it looked fine. There was nothing wrong with it, he said the tooth next to it needed work and that was the cause of my pain. Fast forward three months later, the tooth he worked on abscessed and fell out and now I have a life threatening bacterial INFECTION from it that has traveled throughout my body and required me to go the ER after becoming deathly ill. I believe the tooth was infected when I went back to see Dr. Mauricio that's the reason I got really sick and have haven't been able to shake off some of the weird symptoms. This could have all been avoided had he addressed my tooth pain, and correctly re cemented the crown with out any gaps between the gum and tooth. (After seeing my US dentist, he confirmed there is nothing wrong w the tooth next to it) This place just wants the tourist dollars (cha ching). The staff is extremely caring, everything is efficient and Carlos, the clinic manager takes care of everything with a smile! Dr. Nora Contreras was my doctor, she is a calm, kind perfectionist. My wife was with Dr. Roberto Sanchez, he worked fast with perfect results, he also sings a little while he works. SOTADental referred me to Neo Dental clinic supposedly to number one dentist in Cancun sometime in…read moreNovember of 2022. Dr. Miller. According to my experiences he is not even number one dental technician!! The first part of my dental care was a success because surgery performed by incredibly qualified surgeon Dr. Omar Lugo, who actually performed my entire implant surgery and ensured painless recovery and healing process, which was monitored by my local dentist as well. But unfortunately Neo Dental so called #1 dentist took out one of my perfectly fine implant for his own convenience so he can finish quickly and hop on to the next patient!. Upon checking the scan Dr Miler him self confirmed everything was integrated properly. But unfortunately when it was time to work on that implant I received a message that my appointment has to be rescheduled and that I have to stay in Cancun for another two weeks because they didn't have an abutment for that implant (proof on file). (There was plenty time to order that before I returned). But...it wasn't. I had to extend my stay because of that and after my husband went home Dr. Miller told me he will manage to finish my treatment sooner so I don't have to stay too long. To make that happen he personally picked me up the next day and worked on my implant that he didn't have abutment for. At some point he called to his assistant for extra Anastasia and soon after I was done. He the went outside and made a phone call and when he returned he set down and said; "here is your implant, it failed". I was speechless. To make things worse I still ended up staying two more weeks and even after second attempt my teeth wasn't made any better than a horse shoe. To fix my problem contacted Dr Omar as I figured he would be the most appropriate one to contact I was fortunate to arrange that and went to see Dr. Omar on October 1st, 2023. I am happy to say that he was able to fix the issues created by Neo Dental clinic which involved tightening and replacing some abutments, correcting my bite, aligning my teeth and giving me new set of beautiful set of zirconia teeth that brought my natural smile back. According to SOTA dental owner and Neo Dental this wasn't possible, SOTA Dental owner sees a smoke on the scan and Dr. Miller said I had a such a small mouth. If I had such a small mouth how did he manage to put such a big teeth in such a small mouth? Well, I got news for them with passionate team of professionals like Dr. Omar anything is possible. In response to SOTA owner response to my review. your emails said enough. When it comes to speaking of truth, you and truth are very far apart! Your emails and Millers messages could make a lot more interesting story than your Drs notes. I have a have great smile and fully functional mouth thanks to a Doctor Omar Lugo, you definitely can't take credit for that!! This time around I personally managed my care!!! And don't worry I I got in touch with Dr. Miller and dropped him a few lines as well.

We knew Joaquin when he was on the LSU Dental Faculty, teaching "Prosthodontology" under Art Mendez, and like them both. Berron is much more personable. If considering a trip, some considerations are: 1) How easy is it for YOU to go back-&-forth? 2) How much work do you need? 3) Do you like & feel safe in Mexico? 4) Do you have a local. Family Dentist for minor follow-up services? Berron & his staff/facility are BETTER than any dental operation we've been to in the USA. He gives detailed plans with cost & options ahead of time. Their Achilles' heel was the slow dental prosthetics lab, which took a week to make permanent devices. Then, if there were any problem, it would take a week to fix it. Berron is dedicated to providing World class services; so I'd bet the lab issue has already been fixed since our last visit around 2018. If one lives where there are direct flights; the best may be to go home for a week, then go back to finish. In our several experiences there, we found that the dental costs, plus the costs of the vacations, still beat U S prices. Also, I cannot speak for any of the other practices in "Dentaris Riviera Maya", which seems a loosely associated group with separate office facilities. Dr. Berron is quite expert at doing his own extractions & grafting, so most services are one-stop. If these considerations fit you, do consider going. We stayed at the local LaQuinta Hotel, but there are many other options at the beach. Once you see the quality, expertise, & detailed care; you will be confident. The entire operation is World Class. They will advise on, or even handle, some ravel details and provide local pick-up & drop-off for dental visits (only). The visit preparations resemble a concierge service in many ways. The only negative we found in our several visits was the slow prosthetics lab. Dr. Berron was well aware of this and was working on improving it on our last visit. As Cancun's Intercontinental Airport has grown into a major "Hub", other "international medical services'' flourish there, it has become an important industry for Quintana Roo & all Mexico. Dr Joaquin Berron' and Staff-…read more I hired Dr Berron to remove an old "ALL in 4" and place a new one. This would require 3 trips to Cancun. Nov 2024- Trip # 1 would require the removal of the existing ALL in 4 and bone grafts Bone Grafts- I had extensive lower bone grafts done at this clinic. However Dr Joaquin Berron' was not capable of completing them and hired a specialist from outside his practice. The surgeon hired did an excellent job and when my dentist back home took a 3D xray upon my return- he praised his skill Jun 2025- Trip #2. Dr Berron placed 4 implants on the bottom and fitted me for a lower temporary prosthetic. The implants were imbedded into the lower bone at a slant! And the temporay lower was poorly made and a colossal fail. It pinched and didn't fit properly. The day or surgery- I was taken back to my hotel room in pain and he knew this. I was told to give it a chance and he would see me again the next day. Upon arrival the next day which was Thursday morning- it was not any better and I wanted him to remove it and improve it. But he refused- instead he attempted to "grind" it down- while it was screwed down on my lower jaw. Only then did he inform me that he planned to leave town and I would have to wait 5 days to see him again- which would be late the afternoon the following Monday. At that point- I changed my airline flight and flew back to the states the next day and told him I would find someone else.. Upon arrival locally - I made an appt to see my regular dentist. When he looked at the recent xrays he was shocked and refused to comment- other then to say "I will keep my opinion to myself" Dr B and myself exchanged multiple emails - and text messages and I have copies of everything I have quoted on this email. I waited 3-4 months to heal and then In Oct I hired another dentist to make the permanent lower and his clinic did a fabulous job. In closing- I will add this. Dr B deserves a 1 star for the inferior job that he did- and for abandoning me and leaving Cancun when he knew perfectly well- it didn't fit and I was in pain because the quality of the prosthetic was so poorly made. But I didn't, I left a 2 star because his staff is exceptional! I regret going to his clinic and I would never ever hire him again
