More Than 5-Star Service…read more Dr. Hershkowitz is a blessing! My 88 year old mother-in-law had an after-hours dental emergency--a very old dental implant had fallen out. My husband and I were visiting from out of town so neither of us were familiar with dentists in the area nor did my mother-in-law have a regular dentist for us to call. I called Dr. Hershkowitz's office just before closing time and by happenstance, he answered my call. As I was explaining my mother-in-law's situation to Dr. Hershkowitz, he was very kind and could hear the concern in my voice. His actions following our conversation were totally unexpected. He asked if I could take photos and send them to him for an assessment. Needless to say, Dr. Hershkowitz was a God send! He took great care of my mother-in-law with a very conservative approach. He was very compassionate and understanding not to mention, he has a way of connecting with his patients. If you or your family member is in search of a dentist like Dr. Hershkowitz and his kind and welcoming staff, look no further--this is the dental practice for you. Michèle R. HORRENDOUS!!!!!!! The man named Dr. D who works alongside Seema and is responsible for my temporary…read more(and presumably permanent) crowns is nothing short of DEMONIC. This DEMON is shockingly unprofessional, brash, and outright aggressive. The temporary crowns he installed are not only excruciatingly painful but are also an eyesore--several shades darker and yellower than the rest of my teeth. To make matters worse, the work is a complete disaster: glue and cement were sloppily smeared across surrounding teeth, left to fester in the crevices like a botched art project by someone who clearly has no business in dentistry. The temporary crowns did not even last an entire week before falling off! Even worse, I was NEVER informed what this procedure Seema demanded I undergo for a tiny hairline crack on one tooth entailed. This butcher SHAVED DOWN both of my front teeth into miniature stubs without informing me this is what she planned to do. I NEVER agreed or would have agreed to this procedure had I been informed what it entailed or was. The man she had do it, DR. D, was extremely rough and violent with me thrashing my head and neck around to the point I am in severe pain and deeply emotionally traumatized a week later. I will be reporting both of them and this practice to the New York State Office of Professional Discipline if I am not refunded the $600 I was charged as a down payment. I do not trust this woman or her co-dentist anywhere near my mouth. I regret letting her destroy my teeth, my health, and my sanity. Not to mention, when I informed her that her poorly made and applied temporary crowns fell off, she made no effort to put them back in despite it being a dental emergency. My gums? Still bleeding, still throbbing in pain, thanks to his gross incompetence. I can't fathom how Seema and this clown of a technician "Dr. D" are not drowning in shame, attaching their names to work so shockingly substandard it borders on malpractice. The fact that anyone could walk away from this level of botched work without feeling mortified is beyond comprehension. I will never allow these crooks near my mouth again, and I urge anyone who values their health and sanity to steer far, far away from this dental circus. If this is the kind of "care" you can expect, it's no wonder they've mastered the art of driving patients away.

I came here after some research and a horrible experience with "doctor" Thomas Kent down the street…read moreon Union. This time around I was looking for a place with professionalism, cleanliness and most importantly, a classy, educated receptionist. I swear that receptionist at Kent's office was a pure nightmare and I'm glad I never have to deal with her ever again! I am so happy to have entrusted my dental care with doctor Rafailov now. He not only gets the job done, he takes the time to explain the procedure to the patient; takes his time with each procedure to make sure each patient is happy and at the end, performs an awesome job. He's been doing this for so many years I honestly felt no fear when he was taking out my wisdom teeth. I had three different procedures done on my teeth at his office: 1) cleaning 2) filling 3) wisdom teeth extraction. The cleaning and extraction were done by doctor Rafailov but the filling was done by another dentist that they had just hired name Rachel (I think, I might have forgotten her name). After my filling appointment with her, I literally couldn't chew on my left side where I had the filling because it would hurt like hell. I thought it was just some residual pain but weeks went by and I could still not chew! So during my next appointment, doctor Rafailov took a look and said that it was "not even" and that one side was higher than the other and that was causing me the pain. The important thing is that he fixed it right away and after that I did not have any pain chewing food anymore. When I scheduled my appointment for the extraction, the receptionist scheduled me on the Sunday before labor day because I had requested a weekend date. Mind you, this appointment was made weeks before the actual date. Then the Friday before Labor Day, she called and said that she "forgot" that they were closed and that I had to rescheduled...I was really really annoyed because I had cancelled all my plans and switched around my work schedule to get these teeth taken out, and she just ruined everything in one phone call. I wouldn't have mind if they had called sooner, but cancelling on someone with such short notice was just not acceptable. I was pissed but what can I do? Once I finally got the appointment, I was lucky enough to have doctor Rafailov do my extractions, all 4 wisdom teeth. We took 2 out first then waited 2 weeks later to take out the last two. I honestly thought the procedure was going to take forever but it was faster than I though. I wasn't prescribed anything afterwards because it was a simple extractions since my teeth were growing straight and were not impacted. I just rinsed my mouth with salt water and took some Advil for pain, totally was not bad at all. I'm honestly thankful for him for doing such a great job!!
