This store's aromatic sent drew me in from the hallway. LOL. I was surprised at the great variety of yummy candles scents...Pineapple Sunshine is my fave. I love the mini candles too (4 for $20). I spent over $100 to give as gifts. These scents seem more natural, not perfumey or synthetic like that other big brand candle store & I didnt get a headache from burning it. It was my first time at this candle shop, it won't be my last. Upon entering there was this clearance table of candles. $12 for each candle and 2 for $20. I smelled each one and loved the Peony Peach. I entered and I couldn't believe all these candles. The candles were beautiful designed. Perfect for house warming gifts, birthdays and etc. Rachel assisted us. She was knowledgeable and sincere and showed me a candle, Teakwood and Sandalwood. I love great customer service and her attitude was warm and inviting. All the candles smelled so good. I will be coming back. I work at Bath & Body works and I love our candles but shhhh! The Smell House has fresh fragrances and each one has a personality. I ended up getting the Peony Peach candle, clean and fresh. I also purchased the oil with the Sticks. I know there's a name for it. The fragrance is Palo Santo & Incense. I bought it for my mom and she loves the fragrance. read more

I've only recently gone into the Smell House and boy is this candle heaven. I'm definitely a scent gal so I may be biased, just keep that in mind. Items are reasonably priced from $15-$20 for regular sized candles. Bought 2 after I sniffed my way through the entire store on a Friday afternoon. OH.MY.GOD. Let me start off by saying that the VIBE of this store is ELITE. It's so aesthetically pleasing, it literally draws you in. My overall experience here was genuinely a good time. It's so rare you get to walk into a store that is dedicated to nothing but candles and smells. Also, SO well priced in my opinion. -I LOVE it here. The employees really encouraged me to take my time and sniff, so I did just that. I came across scents that were so new to me, and I really felt like this place opened up my mind to so much. The Smell House is one of the newest additions to the Packing House in Claremont! The store location used to house the Circus studio and I was surprised to see that Smell House took over their spot. They have a whole assortment of candles and sprays and so much more that array from scents of fruits, chocolate, ocean, Forrest, and so much more! I honestly wanted to buy the entire store but I resisted the utter but my friend who I went with, couldn't resist as she bought 4 candles. I can't wait to go back! read more

I was ready to buy out the whole store absolutely gorgeous unique candles that smelled great and not artificial but whoever was working today 6/26/21 around 130pm was unfriendly didn't greet us when we came in and didn't ask if we needed help or had questions. We left feeling bad because we really wanted to support this store and loved the products but not worth the awful service we received. Hopefully this wasn't the business owner working at the time. My boyfriend and I went in today after dinner to look for some candles and were greeted by this lovely young woman with black hair and bangs! The candles smelt so amazing and the ambience of the store was so warm and inviting. Cool candle selection. I purchased an amber and teak candle that took over my block with calming and sultry notes. A definite recommend.

Beware!Bought 2 candles from the sale rack . Says 2 for $20 and got to register and paid $12 and $14 . The girl at register said she doesn't know why the candles were on there yet there were at least 10 candles of each one I picked out so I doubt the we're on accident out there . Sounds like a scam to get you to buy and hopefully you don't notice the up charge. The girl was very short and should have gave me the advertised prices . O.M.G. is right Lola!! What a place. Went there with my dog, and the young man there was super helpful in finding her just what she needed. My pup has been depressed and having a hard time with COVID and all the craziness in this world. Luckily, we were able to find a soothing scent, like dewy earth seeping into the corner of a campsite, with a rich musk and woods base. She's been a different dog ever since. Today I went into the smell house candle store and the girl behind the counter didn't say hello to me and my sisters, she never said anything just sat there looking very standoffish , I saw her and how she was looking at us so I just left the store my sisters walked out shortly after, there was a white man and his little girl in there she smiled at them and they left, me and my sisters stood outside the store talking and the girl got up came over closed the doors and locked them at 3:00 , because me and my black sisters were standing outside the store talking. Now I've shopped there before with a different person behind the counter and I had a pleasant experience but this time was very different, being black doesn't make you a threat. This candle store is a favorite spot after lunch or dinner to stroll, browse, and sniff candle lids lol. The titles are a hoot and the smells are wonderful. The prices are good, there is a loyalty punch card, free tote with purchase AND $2 off whenever you use your tote. It's women owned and local to the area. Dang! What else is there? The staff is fun and patient and don't care if you sniff and wave and leave. It's a nice vibe. read more
